Re: Microsoft CEO Says He Would "Love To Get Rid Of" Exclusives On Consoles

CazSonOfCaz

Maybe it's because I've always been a PC Gamer for as long as I've been a console gamer, but I hate exclusives with a passion.

Sony makes movies and music too, but you don't have to buy a special Sony player to access it. You buy a CD, or Blu-Ray, or MP3 or whatever and you can use it on whatever brand player you choose.

You can already do this with a PC. You can buy a Dell, or an ASUS, etc. or even build your own.

Re: Poll: Which Was Your First 'Final Fantasy'?

CazSonOfCaz

FF4 on the SNES for me, which was actually called "Final Fantasy II" in the USA. It was a weird time back then. They didn't release all the games back then because they thought Americans were too stupid to handle it.

In fact, the FF4 we did get (as FF2) was a watered down "easy" edition. Which was ironic, because JRPGs owe a huge debt to the Ultima PC games, which were huge in Japan. The Ultima series were American games made by an American (Richard Garriott, a.k.a. Lord British).

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom's Final Pre-Launch Trailer Is Absolutely Stunning

I've been hyped for this game for a while and thought their last 10 minute deep dive into mechanics was very cool. But, this didn't do anything to excite me. Maybe because I was already sold on this game 18 months ago? I don't know.

I DO know that I am not at all impressed with Ganondorf's voice acting. It sounds horribly forced and like he's reading from a script (before anyone gets stupidly pedantic, I KNOW he is reading from a script. Duh. Good actors make you buy into a character so that you can't tell they're acting or reading).

It's actually worse than Cal from Jedi: Fallen Order. Completely mystified how anyone likes it.

Hear hear! Louder for the slow ones in back. Those of us with intelligence and an education already knew this, of course. Haters gonna hate, though.

... And Reddit and Twitter are full of haters.

What we really need to stop doing is giving teenage edgelords a voice at the table. Trying to communicate with one is like trying to play chess with a pigeon. They knock all the pieces over, ***** all over the board, and then strut around like they won anyway.

Re: Poll: What's The Best Indiana Jones Game? Rate Your Favourites For Our Upcoming Ranking

CazSonOfCaz

"Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis" is the only truly great Indiana Jones game ever made. Period. Back from when LucasArts was making top-tier PC games (and also actually making games that weren't Star Wars related).

All the action games weren't very good and were easily outshone by Uncharted and Tomb Raider, which is both ironic and a shame as it's clear that Indiana Jones was a huge influence on both those IPs.

@Bunkerneath - It's not based on logic, which is how a machine thinks and is inferior to human reason. Did you ever get a "syntax error" when using a computer and it's unable to progress because it can't figure out what you're trying to do? That's where logic gets you. A rational person could figure it out and move along.

Or as Niels Bohr once famously said to Albert Einstein, "You are not thinking; you are merely being logical."

It makes sense because it's based on how people actually speak and think about it. When talking to someone, do you say, "yeah, the event's happening on July 6th" or do you say "yeah, the event will be happening on the 6th of July?"

Most people in the US say the former, because it flows better and is less cumbersome to say. July 6th is how we speak it and organize it in our thoughts and so that's how we write it down. The month comes first.
