Super Mario Bros. 2 being so low is criminal. It's so much more inventive and interesting than a lot of the other more formulaic games. It should be much higher up, maybe right behind Wonder.
I think it could work for a full game, but not in Grezzo's style. I would think something a little more fluid and dynamic, like Metroid Dread or Hollow Knight, would be more appropriate. A proper Metroidvania style could be very cool.
No matter what other horrible things are going on in the world or in my life, at least I know my Switch is stable. That is something. At last, that is something...
@Tobiaku They didn't "uglify" the actress due to pandering, but due to logical art direction. Just give it a modicum of thought. The character from Outlaws, Kay Vess, is a scoundrel, a thief living on the underbelly of society. She's living a hand-to-mouth existence on the fringes of the galaxy. Realistically, such a person would not look like a supermodel.
I don't consider this pandering. I consider it logical art direction and logical storytelling. I challenge you to actually play the game. I've put 50 hours into it and I've seen nothing that resembles pandering. I'll give you the new AC game, sure. That does seem like pandering. But Outlaws? No.
@Tobiaku Have you actually played Outlaws? Can you give me an actual example of this pandering? So far, it seems like that this so-called "pandering" is the real "mythical" element.
@Tobiaku What is the audience that Star Wars: Outlaws game pandered too? I've played through it and I didn't see any pandering. If they pandered to anyone it was Original Trilogy Star Wars fans, like me. And Han Solo and Chewbacca fans.
Obviously, a teenager did this (or younger). PC gaming did not start in 1993. It goes back to the early 80s. Probably earlier than Apple, although Apple did have games on their other computers too, like the IIgs. Kid probably doesn't even know what MS-DOS is.
@CaleBoi25 The problem isn't 30 fps. It's the constant jumping between 30 and 60 that creates a lag. In Link's Awakening it felt like you were fine and then you were moving through molasses. It was that constant cycling between "normal" and "molasses" that felt uncomfortable to play.
@Zuljaras Oh sorry, I guess I read your post too quickly. Half-Life 2 VR is cool too! But know that you're in for a real treat when you finally get Alyx!
Thinking about it now, it would be cool if Nintendo tried a 2D-3D type style, similar to Octopath Traveler, for a Zelda game. I think that could look pretty cool.
@Johnny44 I understand all that and agree with you. I'm just saying there's no evidence people are actually using the guide yet. They're just posting it up because, well, it's their job. Might as well post it now, while they have time, instead of months from now when they'll be busy with other things.

@Bonggon5 No, it wouldn't kill anyone but it would cost money.
Re: Poll: Are You Bothered By The Frame Rate In Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom?

Re: Poll: Are You Bothered By The Frame Rate In Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom?
@LavenderShroud it's not about "fast moving" or "high res." It's about smoothness and lag.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For The Nintendo Museum
@Rhaoulos Yes, I am definitely looking forward to the next stability update to stabilize things and, of course, to censor any bad words.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For The Nintendo Museum
@stephajnan Yeah, it's not really a museum then, is it? More of an art gallery or something.
Re: Gallery: Here's The Switch Lite Hyrule Edition In All Its Zelda-Themed Beauty
"Continuing the tradition of releasing golden, Zelda-themed hardware – which dates all the way back to the GBA era..."
Technically, this started with NES as the cartridges for the OG Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link were completely gold.

@Zuljaras I wish I could play Half-Life: Alyx for the first time again. What an absolutely incredible experience. Enjoy it!

Re: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom's Frame Rate Is "Even Worse" Than Link's Awakening
@Sonicka Not according to the famed John Linneman from Digital Foundry. Here's a tweet where he talks about it: https://x.com/dark1x/status/1743280922659635688
That thread, and others, are full of snippets of people talking about it.
There are a number of tweets and articles where he mentions it which you can find if you Google around.
Re: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom's Frame Rate Is "Even Worse" Than Link's Awakening
@LavenderShroud Back in the 90s most games were 60 fps. It wasn't until the PS3/360 era that 30 fps became the norm.

Re: Forget The Console Wars, Miyamoto Says Nintendo Has Always Followed Its Own Path
"...the company isn't all that invested in the console wars narrative..."
That may be true now but, as someone who grew up in the 1980s and 1990s, there was definitely a time when that was NOT the case.
Re: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom: Walkthrough, All Puzzle Solutions, Collectibles
@Johnny44 "...people use it immediately because it’s there instead of using their brains a little first."
Now, how would you know that?
Re: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom: Walkthrough, All Puzzle Solutions, Collectibles
@Johnny44 "Give people a chance to enjoy it and explore on their own first!"
They are. No one's forcing you, or anyone else, to read it. The guide is here if, and when, people need it.
