I think the next Zelda game should have it where Link and Zelda are both playable throughout with different playstyles. Similar to what Ubisoft's doing with the next Assassin's Creed. You should be able to swap between them at will, OR play co-op with a friend.

Hopefully with the art style of BOTW/TOTK.

You know, if Nintendo were to ever make games as a 3rd Party for someone else's hardware, it should be Meta Quest. That way, they could continue the 3D effects they were exploring with the 3DS. Imagine Mario Kart 8 in VR. That would be amazing. And Astro Bot showed that platformers can be amazing in VR. Imagine Mario Galaxy VR.

@Daniel36 Bad analogy. The turtles in Mario aren't a game mechanic. They're surface-dressing. The terms rogue-lite or rogue-like refer to game mechanics. It has nothing to do with theme or genre. It's not a misuse of the term. It's your misunderstanding of the term.

Not only did Tengen bring ports of Tetris and Gauntlet to the NES, but they also ported a bunch of Sega Master System games, such as Shinobi. And they were housed in an angled, cool, black plastic cartridge.

@Fangleman32 WW and BOTW are both cel-shaded, but they are not the same art style. Not even close. Cel-shading is a rendering technique, not a style.

@tseliot Sorry to be that guy, but Ackshyulally, DOTT was technically "Maniac Mansion Part 2," so the next one would be part 3 of the series. But yeah, that would be awesome. Another Indiana Jones graphic adventure would be awesome too.

Anyone who thought it was Switch 2 clearly never played Metroid Prime Remastered. Prime 4 looked about on the level with that, so it was obvious to me it was still on the OG Switch.

That one shot from the Japanese site does make it look like Prime 4 may some more open areas, which is cool.

@NintendoWife You should give Metroid Prime 1 Remastered a try. Metroid Prime games are more about exploration than combat. You can also lock on to enemies, so you don't have to be great at FPS games to enjoy Metroid Prime.

@Yalloo It has similarities in art style, maybe, with the simplified shapes and forms, but it's not a similar art direction. Those are two different things. The art direction is still very much based on Star Wars.

Yeah, I lived in SF for years and it used to be my favorite city. It's a mess now. This seems like a really bad idea.

Back in my day, when you bought something like The Legend of Zelda, EVERYbody got a gold cartridge, no matter where you lived. This sucks for people who can't be in NYC at 9 am, lol.

As others mentioned, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2 are all obvious choices.

It's also worth noting that GTA5 never actually made it to the original Switch. Considering that's the second biggest selling game of all time, they'll probably want to capitalize on it one last time before GTA6 comes out.

@rushiosan It's 16th Century, not 9th Century. And they had to make some concessions due to the nature of the game. It isn't meant to be a 1 to 1 mimic. Illuminated manuscripts have too much abstraction for that to have worked in this narrative. I have more to say about that, but it actually ventures into spoiler territory, so I won't.

@Poodlestargenerica That's not true at all. Anyone that says the choices you make don't matter much hasn't actually played very much of the game, because some of the choices you make significantly alter the story.

And the people I was describing were still looking at screenshots and trashing the game. There's even examples of such behavior in this very thread.

If someone says the game "doesn't look good AT ALL... by the screenshots," that simply tells me that you have little to no interest in history, art, or art history.

It's really funny seeing all these people who spent years claiming Xbox was trash and all their games were "mid" suddenly clamoring left and right for Xbox games. Hypocrites, all.

Pentiment is a brilliant graphic adventure and one of the best games I've played in recent years, but it is definitely not for everybody. It definitely helps to have an interest in history and art history to appreciate it. Regardless, it's also just a solid mystery story.

The title refers to "Pentimento," which is the phenomena where paint gets more transparent with age, revealing the layers underneath which were painted over.
