I think the next Zelda game should have it where Link and Zelda are both playable throughout with different playstyles. Similar to what Ubisoft's doing with the next Assassin's Creed. You should be able to swap between them at will, OR play co-op with a friend.
You know, if Nintendo were to ever make games as a 3rd Party for someone else's hardware, it should be Meta Quest. That way, they could continue the 3D effects they were exploring with the 3DS. Imagine Mario Kart 8 in VR. That would be amazing. And Astro Bot showed that platformers can be amazing in VR. Imagine Mario Galaxy VR.
@Daniel36 Bad analogy. The turtles in Mario aren't a game mechanic. They're surface-dressing. The terms rogue-lite or rogue-like refer to game mechanics. It has nothing to do with theme or genre. It's not a misuse of the term. It's your misunderstanding of the term.
Not only did Tengen bring ports of Tetris and Gauntlet to the NES, but they also ported a bunch of Sega Master System games, such as Shinobi. And they were housed in an angled, cool, black plastic cartridge.
@tseliot Sorry to be that guy, but Ackshyulally, DOTT was technically "Maniac Mansion Part 2," so the next one would be part 3 of the series. But yeah, that would be awesome. Another Indiana Jones graphic adventure would be awesome too.
Anyone who thought it was Switch 2 clearly never played Metroid Prime Remastered. Prime 4 looked about on the level with that, so it was obvious to me it was still on the OG Switch.
That one shot from the Japanese site does make it look like Prime 4 may some more open areas, which is cool.
@NintendoWife You should give Metroid Prime 1 Remastered a try. Metroid Prime games are more about exploration than combat. You can also lock on to enemies, so you don't have to be great at FPS games to enjoy Metroid Prime.
@Yalloo It has similarities in art style, maybe, with the simplified shapes and forms, but it's not a similar art direction. Those are two different things. The art direction is still very much based on Star Wars.
@bananamal Did you miss the part where a lot of us said we actually lived there? I lived in the Tender-Nob and the Mission District for years, so please miss me with your Fox News nonsense. Curious why NL didn't remove your comments for unconstructive and inappropriate trolling.
Back in my day, when you bought something like The Legend of Zelda, EVERYbody got a gold cartridge, no matter where you lived. This sucks for people who can't be in NYC at 9 am, lol.
As others mentioned, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2 are all obvious choices.
It's also worth noting that GTA5 never actually made it to the original Switch. Considering that's the second biggest selling game of all time, they'll probably want to capitalize on it one last time before GTA6 comes out.
@Lizuka Have you actually played any of these games? I mean, they're obviously not Dostoevsky or Kafka or even Stephen King, but they have enough meat to fill an hour-and-a-half popcorn movie.
Every American knows Oregon Trail because it was the one of the only games that every single elementary school with a computer lab had access to. The other game, obviously, was "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?"
@LikelySatan They're not imaginary. They are the people I have met repeatedly on Twitter and Reddit. What's ironic is that you're continuously doing the same thing you're accusing me of. The height of intellectual debate indeed. Good day, sir.
@rushiosan It's 16th Century, not 9th Century. And they had to make some concessions due to the nature of the game. It isn't meant to be a 1 to 1 mimic. Illuminated manuscripts have too much abstraction for that to have worked in this narrative. I have more to say about that, but it actually ventures into spoiler territory, so I won't.
@Poodlestargenerica That's not true at all. Anyone that says the choices you make don't matter much hasn't actually played very much of the game, because some of the choices you make significantly alter the story.
And the people I was describing were still looking at screenshots and trashing the game. There's even examples of such behavior in this very thread.
@rushiosan As I said in my earlier comment it helps to have an interest in art, history, and art history. To such people like that the game looks good.
If someone says the game "doesn't look good AT ALL... by the screenshots," that simply tells me that you have little to no interest in history, art, or art history.
It's really funny seeing all these people who spent years claiming Xbox was trash and all their games were "mid" suddenly clamoring left and right for Xbox games. Hypocrites, all.
Pentiment is a brilliant graphic adventure and one of the best games I've played in recent years, but it is definitely not for everybody. It definitely helps to have an interest in history and art history to appreciate it. Regardless, it's also just a solid mystery story.
The title refers to "Pentimento," which is the phenomena where paint gets more transparent with age, revealing the layers underneath which were painted over.

Hopefully with the art style of BOTW/TOTK.
Make it happen, Nintendo!

(question: what)
Re: Random: Artist Reimagines Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Scene With TOTK-Inspired Visuals
@Fangleman32 WW and BOTW are both cel-shaded, but they are not the same art style. Not even close. Cel-shading is a rendering technique, not a style.

Ahahahahahahahaah! Let's fracking gooooooooo! So pumped for this.
I do wish they'd released the Prime 2 and 3 Remastered though. I'd really like to be playing them right now.

@YourDaddy It's not that deep, man.
Re: Dredge's Next Expansion Update 'The Iron Rig' Launches This August
@premko1 Yeah, but those 20h were a heck of a lot of fun. That's just a little over $1.00 an hour, which is pretty good imo.

Sad I missed that. I'd love to see an actual Zelda game in that style. It looked fantastic!

Yeah, I lived in SF for years and it used to be my favorite city. It's a mess now. This seems like a really bad idea.

Re: Square Enix To "Aggressively Pursue" Multiplatform Strategy, Includes "Nintendo Platforms"
@Serpenterror Well, you mentioned other games that weren't on Switch, so it's fair to point out that GotG was great on other platforms.
Also, Final Fantasy has been garbage for over 20 years. There hasn't been a good one since 9.

@Regulus6891 Everything George Lucas did after 1999 was pretty damn goofy too.
Re: Stars Wars: Hunters Brings Free-To-Play PVP Action To Switch This June, Preload Now Live
This game would've been a bomb even back when Star Wars was popular.
Re: Zelda Live-Action Movie Director Promises To Be "Ambitious"
Honestly, it'd be dope if they made a Zelda movie with an all-Japanese cast.
