Re: Stardew Valley Creator Announces Version 1.7 Update

This game is really unique in terms of the amount of care given by the developer. It's a true phenomenon. I really wish I could love it. Tried to get into it several times but the gameplay is so unappealing to me that I cannot stand it for more than a couple of minutes.

That's a fantastic piece of journalism. I never played this game being put of by its art style and cheesy presentation. I'm not closer to playing it now but it's great to realize that they have put all these heavy topic into these visuals! Thank you!

Bought it inspired by enthusiastic reviews and what a disappointment! Not a single game caught my attention for more than 5 seconds so far. All look like amateurish homebrew. You better have a look at some actual gameplay before buying it because to me it is heavily overrated, there is no appeal for me.

Unfortunately it did just that in my case. After choosing system transfer, it imported all the "virtual game cards" from my old Switch and immediately started to download all of them. I had to manually delete all these games in order to prevent them from being downloaded. Which was a rather painstalking job, given there were over a hundred of object.

Re: 27 Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Games We're Excited For In 2025

This is kinda disappointing. After all that hype for Switch 2, I don't feel especially excited for anything on that list. BOTW on the 3rd machine? Metroid looks promising but it's going to be still more of the same, I'm afraid. And I have zero interest in the big games I have on my PS5. There's no banger for that debut, it seems.

Re: Switch eShop Update Puts Less Focus On The Terrible 'eSlop'

I wonder what does it take for a game to be accepted on these lists now. Because if hiding shovelware is something I need and appreciate, it should be remembered that there is a lot of great indie low-budget games that deserve a place on these charts. So it may turn out to be a double-edge sword.

I played Space Harrier, of course. While it may have been groundbreaking in terms of programming, it never appealed to me as a kid. My favorite 3D space shooter on the ZX Spectrum was Buck Rogers, probably less innovative but more engaging in terms of gameplay.

Anyway, the things you just said about using the "race down the beam" are fascinating! Your knowledge of the history of game coding is impressive, and you are able to present it in a straightforward and not overly technical manner, which I think is a rare talent. Have you ever thought about writing articles or posting YT videos on the subject? Could be a hit!

Thanks for this post, you reminded me of this great company. In the case of Elite Systems, the company name turned out not to be a coincidence. In fact, the best ZX Spectrum arcade ports, my favorite childhood games, were programmed by them. I didn't even remember that. All of these games were incredibly tight in terms of controls and gameplay, and they pushed the limits of what that little box could do musically and graphically, even though they came out quite early in the Spectrum's life cycle.

I'd love to see an Elite Systems collection on the Switch, although it's probably not going to happen due to copyright issues.
