Re: 505 Games Shuts Multiple Offices As Remedy Acquires Rights To Control IP

Bratwurst35

Control is one of those games that gave me mixed feelings. On one hand I like the premise and themes. Blending together such things as cosmic horror, mystery, and conspiracy.

On the other hand however, I felt like it didn't dive deep enough into it's own weirdness. The exploration is top notch. There is a general feeling surprise around every corner. However, the combat is the least interesting part of the whole game.

While it's fun using your space gun, and psychic powers, it's get repetitive and dull fighting the same enemies over and over again.

Control to me felt like one those games that didn't need combat. Atleast not the extent we were given. Maybe a few sections here and there. One of the enemies I liked best in the game, is the one you couldn't kill. It made you have to rely on other means of achieving your goal. Or the DLC boss, that was more of a puzzle than a straight fight.

I don't know. Just using your powers to solve puzzles was enough. I just got tired of shooting the same enemies over, and over again by the end.

Re: It Looks Like Maria Robotnik Will Appear In The Third Sonic Movie

Bratwurst35

@Joeynator3000 @Samalik Honestly, imo, you are better off reading the wiki or watching cutscenes.

Sonic Adventures games have aged poorly. Outside of Sonic, you play as the side characters and their gameplay ranges from mediocre...to down right bad.

As far as story goes. That's going to be a personal thing. Honestly, I was never a Shadow fan, and didn't like the dark turn Sonic went through. It's a such contrast when compared to his earlier games.

I don't know. I just don't like the melodramatic side of Sonic games. I felt like Sonic 2 was too much of a hard shift into that territory. I much prefer the upbeat personality of Sonic.

It was such an odd era too. First we get "Adventure 1" which is more of a standard adventure. "Adventure 2" decided to make things a bit more edgier. "Sonic Heroes" comes along and it's like a complete 180 in terms of tone.

Next we have"Shadow the Hedgehog" in which Sega turned up the cringe past 11. Then finally the butchered Sonic '06, which tried to be a mixture of all things in one bizzare package (ugh, the the cutscene before the final boss is awful).

For me atleast, that was Sonic's worst era of games and storytelling.

Re: Review: Tomb Raider I-III Remastered (Switch) - The Best Way To Rediscover A Gaming Idol

Bratwurst35

@neogyo Yes. I mean, if you wanna save scum, that's fine, but I prefer not pausing my game every minute just to make sure that if I flub a part, I won't start from the last manual save hours ago.

Or heck, even entire levels again, depending on game.

I don't even know why either feature are being debated. Both manual saving and autosaving have been compatible for years now. It's not like one feature is better than the other. One is just there to save time, while the other is to let you choose when you want to save.

It's not an either or situation. You can have both. Indulge!

Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess Manga Series Is Getting A Box Set

Bratwurst35

@AG_Awesome I can't speak for Twilight Princess, but for like a month I tried to read every Zelda manga there was before giving up.

Honestly, if judging by the past quality, I say it's a mix bag. Of course your mileage may vary.

It's got a few highs, plenty of lows. Overall it's So-So. Personally, it's not the best thing I ever read, but thankfully not the worst. If you're just looking to pass the time with some reading, I say dive in.

Personally, the manga's I enjoyed most based on Zelda were:

1."The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past" by Shotaro Ishinomori.

2."The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening " by Ataru Cagiva.

Ataru Cagiva also did a manga version of "A Link to the Past". However, I could never find one to read it.

Overall despite me having mixed feelings about the Himekawa series, if you're a big Zelda fan or just enjoy adventure manga's you should check them out.

Also, besides the few I mentioned, there's tons of older comics based on the Zelda series:

1. "The Legend of Zelda" by Maru Ran, Yuu Mishouzaki and Kobayashi Susumu. All three versions are based on the original game. You can also find the same artists who did manga's for the second Zelda game.

I know this is beyond your orignal question, but, I just wanted to share with you there's a ton of manga's based on the series. So, if one doesn't catch your fancy, you have plenty of options.

Re: Random: Ash Ketchum's OG Voice Actor Reflects On "Devastating" Moment She Was Fired

Bratwurst35

@RubyCarbuncle Sorry to hear that. I try to be sympathetic, but im wary of giving out sympathy cards.

It's not I don't care, it's just people expect you to believe them at first glance, nomatter what. This is problematic, because many people take advantage of that.

Trust is a fragile thing, and bad actors make it hard for everyone else. It's just the nature of people in a world of billions.

When you have stories of people who are faking problems rather it be for attention, or monetary gain, this as effect on people who feel terrible they were duped. In turn this makes said people less compassionate.

It doesn't help now that in this information era, it makes it easier for people to have microphone to take advantage of peoples compassion.

I handed my sympathy cards to many of the wrong people in life. All that's done was bite me in rear. Only thing I do now is take peoples word for it and keep my distance.

Re: Feature: NieR’s Orchestra Concert Delivered An Unforgettable Night, And A Yoko Taro Tease

Bratwurst35

@Kirbyo Im going to just say while I don't think the game is overrated, it's nothing special.

~The hack 'n Slash can get repetitive and boring fast, there is no depth. You can get through the game just fine without switching up any style of play as there is no incentive to do anything else but the basics. Sure you can CHOOSE to make the combat as deep as you want, but then what's the point if nothing you fight pushes it.

~The sidequests are boring. It's your typical sidequests found in dozens of other games.

~Characters and story. This is where I see the game gets most of it's praise, but honestly, I don't agree. I found it all very shallow.

Now for the big one which I know is going to cause eyes to roll. I find it ironically and funny personally that this a game that's suppose to explore themes about androids finding their humanity, yet shamelessly sexualizes it's female to the point of comedy.

Now, you might jump on me, and say im being a prude, but nope. I'm okay with explicit materiel if it serves an overall purpose, or just there as a gag. Here though it serves neither. It's just there fore guy to oogle at.

Yes, im sticking by that, because what's funny if you "self-destruct", that's just a cheap excuse to see the main character buttcheeks.

Now, all this is just my view of the game. You could very walk away with a different experience. But, that's just how I walked out of the experience.

Re: Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown Dev Would "Love" To Make A Zelda Game

Bratwurst35

@rushiosan I can picture a universe where Ubisoft is in full control of Nintendo franchises.

~Mario tossed in every 3rd party game known to mankind. Doesn't matter if it makes sense. It's brand money that matters.

~Zelda becomes a yearly open world bloated RPG franchise, full of microtransactions, and multiple editions with limited time in game items that's only found on the back of your favorite food products.

Re: Sony CEO Drums Up Hype For Nintendo's Zelda Movie

Bratwurst35

@AJWolfTill Well this film has more going against it seems:

~Wes Ball, the man behind 3 mediocre Maze Runner films.
~ A cgi budget that will be nowhere near the same level as Avatar.
~A writer who's track history hasn't risen above average.

But, I can see why the last was picked. Despite the terrible writing, Derek Connolly is behind some of the biggest billion dollar films. At the end of day quantity vs quality.

I have zero faith the Zelda film will be anymore than meh.

Re: Random: The Golden Globes Is The Place For Top Super Mario Bros. Banter

Bratwurst35

@Princess_Lilly Just because you haven't of them doesn't change anything. All that means in the past 10 years you haven't bothered to pay attention. Which is fine,a s I don't keep up with Hollywood myself.

And you are right, anyone can be celebrity. However, it;s not nowadays, it's always been that way. There are different levels of celebrity status and the word just means someone who's famous or well known. There isn't a level one must reach to be called one.

I believe the kind of celebrity you are talking about is an old fashioned one molded by Hollywood execs. Those days have been long gone for decades.

Ever heard of a local celebrity? Probably not. Those are people who are famous within their communities. Again, celebrity just means well known or famous.

One doesn't have to star in big budget productions to be considered one.

YouTubers themselves are considered celebrities. Not because Hollywood says so, but because their fans of millions say so.

The status of what counts as a celebrity, you are thinking of, hasn't been important or relevant for decades.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Viewtiful Joe 2

Bratwurst35

@Ogbert Those are not panties. See that's the problem with some of the comments here. You are finding vulgarity where there is none.

What she is wearing is called spankies. Her costume is that of a cheerleader, and spankies is something cheerleaders wear everyday on the field. If it were actual panties, I doubt football would be allowed to air on public television where millions of families gather to watch every season.

The game was rated "T" for teens. I highly doubt stores would've allowed boxart featuring a woman panties aimed at kids to sit on their shelves.

Re: Sea Of Stars Developer Sabotage Replacing 'The Completionist' NPC

Bratwurst35

@PinderSchloss That's nice. But no, I used an extreme example there on purpose, because I dislike the idea that nomatter what terrible thing person does, it falls on the victim to forgive them.

As if the victim should carry the burden of guilt for not seeing the good in someone who put their life in ruins to begin with. If you wanna do that, so be it.

Back on topic, nothing this Jirard did deserves to have his life ruined for good, but it shouldn't be swept under her rug either.. The extreme crowd are just a side effect of humanity becoming more and more interconnected thanks to our unhealthy attachment to online and social media.

How he chooses to go forward now is on him. He can either choose to repair it or forever have his reputation ruined.

Re: The Super Mario Bros. Movie Lands Three Nominations At The Golden Globes 2024

Bratwurst35

@milliag You mean like you? Reducing a entire film to nothing but Ritalin junk? Meanwhile Mario is a like a child high off caffeine and sugar cubes.

You think wrong. Gen X which both grew up with Mario and Spider-man have praised Spiderverse for it's s portrayal of the Peter Parker they knew as a kid. So for you to say it's only for millennial crowd is inaccurate. Not only is it inaccurate but ridiculous. Do you know when millennials were born? Their history with Mario character is far bigger than Gen Z's.

Do you have an actual critique of the film other than it just wasn't for you? At this point you are coming off some who just doesn't like the film on a personal level.

If you don't that's fine. You can even prefer the Mario movie, but that fact you reduce the animation to nothing but attention disorder is messed up. There's alot of Irony in your post and you either you know this and just don't care, or just finding an excuse to bring down Spider-verse.

Re: Talking Point: What's Next For The Super Smash Bros. Series?

Bratwurst35

Im just going to say the next game needs to be smaller, not bigger. While Ultimate was a love letter to gaming, I don't want the series to be come bloated affairs, where devs end up with more characters than what to do with them.

Mortal Kombat kept doing this till they reached a point of having nowhere else to go but reboot.

While Im not saying the next Smash needs to be a hard reboot; A fresh, smaller roster with newer characters and only some returning ones would be nice. Like bring back the original cast of the first Smash, and then fill out a few more slots with all new characters from Nintendo's verse.

Ultimate imo is going to be Sakurai's magnum opus. Something that is cemented in gaming history forever. The next best stage is to start fresher and smaller.

Re: Video: Batman Arkham Trilogy Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison

Bratwurst35

@DennisReynolds Spider-man and Batman are about even. Spider man has starred in 40 games while Batman has starred in 42.

Either way they are pretty close eachother. Both characters combined has had more games than any other Superhero.

All that aside, no is asking for Batman to go away forever. How can another franchise shine, if WB/DC is not willing to atleast greenlight it? Wonder Wonder has been greenlit, and if she succeeds, this can open up the door for other characters to finally have their proper game debut.
