Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Donkey Kong Country Returns HD?

Bratwurst35

@JohnnyMind It's a Wii game that offers nothing different from Wii. If you never played this game before then the value (still crazy) is fine. If you happen to still own a Wii, you're better off dusting off the old thing, and using that money to buy something else. You gain nothing of value from this deal except paying full for a bit of nostalgia. If that's worth it, then okay. I don't know.

What's next? Switch 3 releases and is no longer backwards compatible, so now we begin porting Switch games over at 70$ a pop?

Re: Conan The Barbarian Joins Mortal Kombat 1's DLC Roster Next Week

Bratwurst35

I may be in the minority, but honestly I've never been a fan of these random movie guest characters. I think it's because partially, these characters were not in my era and feels more like it's just Boon living out his childhood dreams. Plus many of them just feel so misplaced in the world of MK.

Anyways, I'd rather the time be spent on bringing back old characters instead.

Re: Talking Point: Did All The Switch 2 Leaks 'Damage' Nintendo Or The Console's Reveal?

Bratwurst35

@PerfectFrost That's just incorrect. Unless you live your life completely offline, it's quite easy to be spoiled by something you weren't even searching for in the first place. Like, that's just the nature of where we are now in the online world. News, social media, forums, etc.. All of them are leaking things at rate no normal human being can completely avoid.

It's quite easy to be spoiled before you know it.

Re: Video: Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered "Meet The Bosses" Trailer Showcase

Bratwurst35

@OorWullie That's a bit tricky to answer . Technically the original Trilogy is considered the best yet Tomb Raider 4 still had a good reception even if it wasn't as highly praised. It's normally Tomb Raider 5 and 6 which are the lowest points. But even there it's a bit complicated.

Tomb Raider 5 had a mixed reception. Some reviewers were bored by it, while others thought it was return to classics and the best of entry so far.

Tomb Raider 6 is however the worst of them all, and that comes down to it's rushed development. It's very unpolished and feels unfinished .

So, as the user above mentioned, Tomb Raider games came out so fast and frequently that it effectively killed itself. My best advice for you is start with the first set of games, and if you like them then maybe consider these.

Re: Dragon Quest Creator Chimes In On Characters Showing Less Skin In Upcoming HD-2D Remake

Bratwurst35

@JohnnyMind My issue with the people I met and hardcore anti-censorship is those individuals are perfectly okay with censorship when it comes to things they don't agree with.

What I gathered though the years of these culture wars is that when it comes to censorship we are all hypocrites to some degree. We are only active when it come to censorship that matters to us, while staying silent or not showing any particular interest it comes to censorship of others.

There is no true unity against all of censorship. Even anti-censorship crowd will admit there are some things that should be censored when it veers into the most extreme.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom?

Bratwurst35

@Yosher Have to agree. You could put her in a green tunic and she would be just cosplaying as Link. It's strange to give Zelda her first starring role only to rob her of any voice in it.

They even decided to do what Zelda games of old did and give her a sidekick that does the talking.

To me that brings the game down a peg. When Zelda was on the sidelines, her character gave weight to urgency of the story. Her silence just adds nothing.

But I think what brings it down for me most is this a reverse of roles rather than something truly unique to Zelda. Link is princess and Zelda the warrior. And idk, just why?

So many ideas to make Zelda stand out they went something basic. Atleast with Peach Showtime, it wasn't just Princess Peach rescuing Mario.

Re: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom's Frame Rate Is "Even Worse" Than Link's Awakening

Bratwurst35

@RupeeClock Maybe really people can't tell the difference? I don't know it's strange to me. The eyes can easily tell a sudden change in motion.

I upgraded my monitor and played my first few games at 120 fps. I can easily tell the difference from 60 fps. I can see it even more at 30 and lower.

Maybe a few of us are mutants who have super eyes. If so, let's start our own X-men society for the super visually gifted.

Re: Echoes Of Wisdom Originally Starred Link, Until His Sword & Shield "Got In The Way"

Bratwurst35

@PinderSchloss Well, I the think is Link being a blank slate in the past was because he represented the player. You had the ability to rename him anything. So the excuse of him being blank worked.

However when BOTW came out Link was no longer that. His official name became well...official. So I can agree with you that because Link is now a person and not the player he should speak.

Im not going to lie and say those dramatic weren't funny. Link just standing there there blankly made it a bit awkward.

Re: Anniversary: Nintendo Is 135 Years Old Today

Bratwurst35

@Maubari Well to be fair, judging by some of these comments I read here, you'd think we live in a comic book where every other game company are supervillians, while Nintendo is the hero on gamers side.

It is a bit funny how people keep humanizing these companies.

Re: ICYMI: Yes, Dungeons Return In The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom

Bratwurst35

@Sonicka Im just waiting for a sci-fi Zelda game set in the far future. Hyrule is now a city, and Zelda is the daughter of it's president.

Ganondorf takes the form of an evil politician who seeks to be a dictator.

Link is a scrappy kid who tinkers with parts and creates his own gadgets which aids him throughout dungeons.

All three characters become linked when Ganondorf behind the scenes destroys Link's hometown and uses it as scapegoat on why Hyrule needs new leadership.

Link sets out on motorbike on goes on quest to uncover who the real villain is and avenge his friends.

I know none of this fan fiction will happen, but I always wondered what a futuristic take on Zelda would be like.

Re: Pokémon Emerald ROM Hack Contains Redrawn Sprites From 130 Artists

Bratwurst35

@SpaceboyScreams Well in your own words it's not a huge game anyways. Why should the Pokemon Company throw a huge celebration for something so small?

Anyways, to me it's not newsworthy atleast. It's a rom hack with 130 random artists and little consistency. It's not anymore special than the dozens upon dozens of rom hacks through the years.

Re: New TMNT: Mutants Unleashed Gameplay Trailer Is Packed With Bodacious Brawling

Bratwurst35

@JohnnyMind I don't mind it. Nitpick, but if I never found out the turtles are suppose to be 15, I could better buy into some of the incarnations over the years.

I know it's silly, but it always bugs me when someone makes a teen protagonist who acts like someone 3 times their age. From the way they speak and act, it just makes it hard to not to laugh at how silly it is.

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Almost Had A Different Name

Bratwurst35

@VoidofLight But then that's what makes it funny. Ganondorf has become sympathetic, just not in an interesting way. Rather now you pity him because he's becomes obsessed with Hyrule to the point of no return.

He's so pathetic now with his one desire, that he's sympathetic.

Re: Sonic 3 Movie Director Reflects On "Full Circle" Shadow The Hedgehog Moment

Bratwurst35

@Lightsiyd I grew up with Sonic. Really, the first console I ever owned was Sega and I must have played Sonic games till the console caught on fire. Sonic is one of my favorite videogame franchises.

But the series did not transition into the 3d sphere as easily as Mario did. Adventure 2 is mediocre. It has great ideas, but also as many bad ideas. It hasn't aged well with time.

Also, Shadow the Hedgehog was pure edginess over anything substance. This is a game that had the orignal vision went through would have made Sonic act out of character for no reason. Sega really was going to lean in and make Shadow a bad bad boy who curses and uses machine guns.

Re: Review: Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club (Switch) - A Stylish Mystery With One Foot In The Past

Bratwurst35

@Maxz Did one person exclusively said all those, or you are just picking random phrases from random people?

Whatever point you are trying to make doesn't work here.

Guy on the left says “Nintendo should branch out into more Mature games”

Girl in the middle says "Nintendo should do more with their legacy content”

Guy on the right says "…Nintendo should stop doing those things and give us Star Fox Zero Point Zero instead”

It would be one thing if a single person said all those, then you would have point. They can't make up their mind. But random people all wanting different things from Nintendo, is no different than random people all wanting different things when it comes to everything.

Re: 'The Knightling' Takes Inspiration From 3D Zelda In A Promising Debut Trailer

Bratwurst35

@ScalenePowers I played all of them and honestly, the only one I found the best was the Spin-off prequel Genesis. I found the fast paced gameplay, and lighter tone quite refreshing. With that said.

Darksiders 1 is the closet Zelda like.
Darksiders 2 is more Action RPG.
Darksiders 3 is very much a hack n slash. Very much inspired by Soulbornes.

The Darksiders series is like 4 different genre of games.

Re: Masahiro Sakurai Has Finished Recording His Final YouTube Video

Bratwurst35

@8bit4Life He's only 53. Everyone's genes don't operate the same way. There's always outliers. His hair is still within the healthy range.

Not everyone's hair rapidly thins. There are men who can still maintain a reasonably healthy head of hair will into their 60's. Not every male goes bald in their lifetime.
