@AG_Awesome No kidding. The movie is awesome! I wasn't born during the time of it's release, but it's one of the horror movies i always struggled to watch.
Not because it was bad or anything. Quite the opposite. The movie was just very effective with the horror. It always freaked me out watching alone at night.
@jamess Forced eh? So then what's the excuse for bigotry, racism, and hatred when the intended vision of the artist is someone other than a white straight guy?
It always seems like the idea is "Let the artists create what they want...unless it's something I disagree with of course, then change it to suit me"
Something I always seem to run into with a certain anti crowd.
Protagonist: "All my life I wanted to be a hero like my father, since that day he le- "This game is brought to you by G-Fuel. G-Fuel, the drink for gamers!" -ft. I'll do all I can to defeat you!
Antagonist: Such bold words for one who's about to di- "Get the proper groom you need with MANSCAPED for men. That's MANSCAPED!" -e.
@datamonkey I think trying to turn a one off game into a multimedia franchise did more harm than good. On top that splitting a single game into 3 separate 70$ chapters not including DLC.
@-wc- Yes, correct. No problem, I could have worded that better. But yes, my mom loved classic films. I didn't get it at the time, but after watching The Birds, it did change the way I viewed films from the past going forward.
@Sondheimist Nice. As someone who grew up in a household where classic film was watched more than modern. I never gave much films a chance. On occasion I'd watch them with my mother, but never truly dived in.
However that changed when I watch Alfred Hitchcock's Birds. A classic horror which I enjoyed. By removing modern lenses, putting myself in the mindset of context and time, I've found a fondness for classic films.
Sadly, when you're 14 years old in 2004, there's no other kids around to enjoy the films with, and so you just learn to enjoy them in your alone time.
@sanderev I wouldn't know. I play games at random. I stopped mostly AAA gaming years ago when Ubisoft (barf) became the blueprint for every other generic open world title to follow.
I skipped last gen and this gen. I would get a ps5 but the only games I want on there are from Team Ico.
@Glasso You are correct. This is an age of outrage and sensationalism. Where clickbait titles get people enraged looking to fight invisible bad guys.
Just look at the recently released 'Steller Blade'. The intoxicated outraged ones were ready for a war. Proclaiming woke journalism will do all they can to destroy the best game ever made because it has a sexy lady on the cover.
Now that the game is released? Well, what do you know it's got a fairly good reception.
However, people who outraged must have an outlet to vent, they need villain, and will look for one anywhere.
So here is something interesting:
Imagine a well known youtuber, and well known website both giving the same praise and criticism. However, since the well known website is considered mainstream, It gets the bulk of the hate for dare scoring this Anti woke triumph a 7/10.
Im talking about YouTuber Skillup, IGN, and their reviews of Steller Blade.
Both share a similar criticism regarding the story and characters not being very good. Both agree the gameplay is the best part.
But, because one is mainstream, and dared to give a 7, IGN gets the hate for it.
I can't even begin. I overindulged. I was trying to give games I never played a shot and ended up playing all of them at once. I still have so much to complete.
Xenoblade Chronicles 1 Peach Showtime Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew Resident Evil 4 Banishers Ghosts of New Eden Star Ocean The second Story R And more
@XenoShaun Probably because of it's historical place in SE history. And one that probably stands out as the most recognizable in the franchise.
I didn't play the original growing up, and FF7 remake isn't so bad. I think by trying to split a single game into 3 separate ones, did harm to the pacing.
The opening chapters of the remake are awesome, but to pad out the game it's filled with some very dull moments.
@shgamer Personally, I think Darksiders Genesis is the best of them. Strife just felt so different compared to the other 3 that I enjoyed the banter.
After getting a taste of the character, Im still looking forward to the day if ever we get a 5th entry starring him. He just felt so lively to play and is clearly the most laid back of them.
@silver-crescent Simple. The Witcher is a tv show based on a series of books by author Andrzej Sapkowski. Those books were then adapted to videogames by a company called CDProjekt.
One game in the series adaption is called "Witcher 3". Witcher 3 was ported to the Nintendo Switch, the Nintendo switch is a console created by Nintendo.
Nintendo is a company that was founded 1889, and started off as an illegal card gambling business. Through radical transformation, they are the family loving company you know today.
Some kid in 90's grew up loving Nintendo games. He loved them so much he wanted to make dedicated place for all things Nintendo related. That kid grew up be the founder of Nintendolife.
Nintendolife was founded in 2005 and is still around today.
@Daggot While it sucks this remaster is not the best, I don't agree that it doesn't need to exist. In better hands, a remastered version of Battlefront would be leagues more fun than EA's version.
@TotalHenshin Haha, agreed. When I read their comment, I was jesting as it reminded me so much of other comments I read through the years nearly like it.
@Anachronism Had the DVD player on the ps2 not been a huge selling point, I doubt PS2 would have dominated that era as much as it did.
Hardware wise, Gamcube and Xbox were both ahead. If that player didn't exist, chances are that era would have ended with both Xbox and Gamecube coming in a close tie.

The Thing is truly a classic.

Re: LEGO Unveils 'Great Deku Tree 2-In-1' Zelda Set, Pre-Orders Now Available
@user0 Yeah, sometimes LEGO and licensed proprieties can be hit or miss. So you get a range of really great to really lackluster.
Or in the middle which is just Meh...

Re: Fortnite Teases New Fallout Crossover
@epicgamner You too. Just know in the future, i always poke fun at stuff. I do it with the things I enjoy too.
Re: Fortnite Teases New Fallout Crossover
@epicgamner If you want the truth, I don't care what Fortnite does. It's not my type of game personally, and that's fine. Not every game is everyone.
If you enjoy it, you enjoy it. That's what games are made for. As long as you're having fun, that's all that counts.
My original comment was meant to be a joke. I was just goofing around. It's all good. I just meant to get a small laugh out of people.
Re: Fortnite Teases New Fallout Crossover
@Chlocean First off, those pearls are very valuable. So yes, I will clutch onto them.
Secondly, learn to laugh a little and take a joke.
Thirdly, I will have fun hating. We all need hobbies that bring us joy.
Fourthly, there is no fourth, I just don't like odd numbers.

You're paying over 200$ to re-experience FF7.

@CaptainCluck And funny enough, Frozen Empire is a terrible sequel.

Xenoblade Chronicles 1
Peach Showtime
Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew
Resident Evil 4

I don't how I got myself in this mess.

What's the extra A for? We have no idea!
Re: Garry's Mod Is Removing "All Nintendo Related Stuff From Steam Workshop"
@Shepdawg1 But it's fine either way though. Many game companies already prohibit the use of their assets in other games.
Unless Nintendo gave permission here, nothing to go crazy over. They are well within their rights to have the assets removed.

Welp, Im out then. SA2 plot was aweful and a mess.

Re: Lara Croft's Pinup Posters Go Missing In Tomb Raider I-III Remastered
@LikelySatan Everyone has real problems to some degree. Just many don't tack on extra problems that don't matter to them.
In this case, this problem to me is minor and insignificant. I have many real issues I deal with on the daily as is.
I just want to come home, boot up my game, and not care about Asypr, Crystal Dynamics or whoever being censorship overlords.

Personally, I don't care about this. I still enjoy the games.
Re: Keanu Reeves Will Reportedly Voice Shadow In Sonic The Hedgehog 3
@Indielink Being kind as nothing to do with it. Keanu just isn't a good actor. He's a good action star, but a mediocre actor.

Personally, I don't really care for these films. Glad I grew up with the 90's OVA adaption.
Still it's great for Sonic fans to see their favorite character on the big screen.
Re: Soapbox: The Games Industry Needs To Give Up On Exclamation Marks!
I disagree wholeheartedly!
Re: Random: BAFTA's 'Iconic Game Characters' Poll Has Us Scratching Our Heads
@RetroGames Super Mario Bros was fine film, but in no way did it do anything Oscar worthy.
Spider-verse actually set a new bar in terms of what animation can possibly do to the point you had other films aka "Puss in Boots" follow suit.
Mario didn't push any boundaries, nor took any risk with it's animation, story, or characters. It pretty much played it safe in all categories.
Re: DSiWare Puzzler 'Hakokoro' Scores A Switch Follow-Up In Japan

Now for the bad news. This game won't release outside of Japan anytime soon.
Re: Free Radical Co-Founder Is Probably Done With TimeSplitters For Good
The only thing I recall was the announcement of Timesplitters 4 way back in 2008. I forgot about this franchise since then.

Re: Review: Princess Peach: Showtime! (Switch) - Peach Breaks A Leg In A High-Class Production
@Diowine 8 is considered low now? Wow, how much has changed. I guess if a game can't reach a minimum of 9 it belongs in a dumpster.
Re: Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Will Now Arrive "One Week Earlier" On Switch
I gotta say, as a Megami fan. This one just did not pull me like previous entries.
Ah well. I would like Strange Journey to one day get a remake or remaster for PC. That's my top favorite game in the Megami franchise.
