@BrianJL Yeah, but then there is innovating for innovating sake. After the Gamecube controller we got a wonky Wii remote, a poorly made tablet, and a overpriced controller because of said tablet.
I mean yes, it's always good to think outside the box and be unique, but that is a double edged sword as well.
@Nanami_Ataraxi Indie devs might as well not bother at this point. If the only way they can get a fair price for their game is with bloated content regardless of it's quality, they should cease to exist.
Either that or severely undervalue their work, just to barely break even.
@Would_you_kindly Technically yes and no. it's new in the sense it adds new things to the old classics, but it's also a remake and remaster of older games.
@Oscarzxn When people are deeply fond of something, there will always be a justification nomatter how objectivity bad it is.
This is everywhere, even here on Nintendolife. it's now the attitude "As long as it runs that's all that matters." This kind of culture why companies can get by releasing bad products.
When you defend bad practices, you let bad practices become the norm.
@Croarus People will always the abuse regardless of original intention. We shouldn't stop emulation just because a few people want to use it for the wrong reasons.
@karlhendrikse You've set yourself an impossibly high bar then. There can only be "1" greatest, and therefore no game on earth will be "the" greatest. In order for such an achievement, it would require a universal agreement that something is perfect without flaw.
What's the greatest thing ever made to one, is the worst thing on earth to another.
@SpaceboyScreams None one actually thinks BOTW invented anything. All BOTW did is refine ideas from other successful games.
If you wanna go the cash in route, then you can say Skyrim and Assassin's Creed to some extent; Spurred a movement, and thus Nintendo wanted to cash in on it.
@BTB20 I doubt it but hey. If nothing on the new switch was announced other than ports with consistent framerates; Half the crowd here pretending it's no big deal would be first in line.
Deep down plenty here actually do want better hardware, but at the same don't wanna say anything bad about thier favorite company.
This happens with everyone's favorite gaming console. They are quick to defend it like it's perfect as is, but rush in line on day one for the chance to see their favorite games on better hardware.
@CharlieGirl But that same childish behavior can pointed at Hellena too. At some point you have to start questioning who you ally yourself with.
Going to twitter to ask people to boycott because "I said so" is an immature way to handle a dispute. Her very actions are childish in nature. She presented little evidence other than her word. And honestly? We're all heroes in our own tales, even if our actions are anything but heroic.
@Sanangelo89 It's true some people take DB too seriously, but bad writing is just bad writing nomatter what.
DBZ wasn't perfect, but DBS is a downgrade in terms of story. It's 2 rehashes, a mediocre third, and just a passable 4th arc.
I don't think the people who dislike DBS do it out bitterness for the past, they dislike it because it had potential to surpass DBZ or atleast be just as great and it's just a giant meh.
@Hero-of-WiiU Um..You do know that rentals are no longer strictly physical discs right? When someone says they will stream it, it could very well mean they will stream it as rental when it comes to home video.
@SteamEngenius Well I stand corrected then good sir. Still feels whack and uncreative. However, with that said it's not like the official pokemon team has had a perfect run either when it came to pokemon designs.
@Bobb Don't feel bad. I rarely get current net humor myself. I'm surprised there was enough materiel to warrant an article. Even more surprised someone approved it.
@Zoda_Fett True, but it's fun to imagine haha. I'd like to think there would be alot of traumatized kids whose parents picked up a copy by mistake.
All jokes aside. If that did happen, I'd imagine it be more of a persona light type game. After playing Pokemon survive, I think it would tense and mature enough to appeal to a certain crowd while still keeping some of the light heartedness as to not give the brand a negative image.
@Vil Sonic has had a very rough transition into the 3d sphere. Too much gimmick ideas and bad decisions.
That's one of the core issues with Sonic. You have very good ideas, only they are buried underneath a pile of crappy ones.
Sonic Adventures games: Cut out everything that isn't Sonic and Shadow, you'd have very good games there.
Sonic Heroes: Cut out everyone else but the main team, you'd have a nice game there.
Sonic '06: Cut out management and you'd have good game.
Sonic Unleashed: Cut out the werewolf.
Sonic Wii Adventures, Shadow the hedgehog, Sonic Lost World, Sonic Boom, and Forces: Cut out everything and you'd have a great non existent series of games
I just don't get why Sega thinks Sonic needs some sort of gimmick to be appealing. It's really telling when the best reviewed Sonic game in decades is one that relies heavily on nostalgia.
Personally, I don't want the future of Sonic to be endless clones of Sonic Mania. As much as I enjoyed that game, I don't want to be what only works for Sonic as a concept going forward.
I do believe a 3d Sonic can achieve 10/10, just whoever is in charge and green lighting these awful ideas is what's hindering that.
@piecez I think Sonic's speed is what hinders him when placed within a 3D plane. Mario works because he's one superpower fits well in just about any space.
Sonic on the other than is built always around the idea of never slowing down. That works great in on a 2D plane, but it's terrible in 3D. He just moves too fast even when going as slow as possible.
If I could change one thing it would be halving Sonic's speed. it looks like motion sickness in 3D.
@SteamEngenius You kidding me mate? You wouldn't have made it growing up in the 90's. Nothing says fun like throwing your controller because a single coin needs precise precision or else you die and have to restart from zero.

Re: Random: This Nintendo Direct Feels Incredibly Quaint Just 10 Years On
@Bobb Hey, nothing wrong with missing Iwata. He made some mistakes in his career (who hasn't) but also made good choices too.
Missing the good parts of the past without the bad parts is totally acceptable.
Re: Ash Ketchum VA Shares Message Ahead Of Character's Exit From Pokémon Anime
@Browny I stopped watching midway through his Johto adventures? The one with Lugia. Pokemon was riding high on popularity around that point.
I honestly have kept with Ash since 2001. I was a bit surprised 10 years ago, when I learned he was still on air haha.

Re: TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, LEGO Star Wars & More Crowned TIME's 'Best Video Games Of 2022'
Meh, it wasn't much of excitement in gaming this year. Tried all these games except sifu, and really didn't have much fun with any of them.

Re: A New Bayonetta 3 Report Features A Differing Account Of PlatinumGames VA Pay Offer
@link12684 We had something like that growing up. There are three truths. The whole truth, a half truth, and an exaggeration.
One person will tell you half, while the other exaggerates. Somewhere in between, you'll find the whole.
Re: Voice Of Mario Charles Martinet Thanks Fans For All The "Love And Kindness"
Yeesh, people are ragging on him as if that's the only voice he can do. Voice actors are versatile, and are capable of doing more than one tone.
He speaks in thar high pitch voice because that's what Nintendo wants him to do. That does not ever mean it's only one he can do.
If you have problem with the voice, blame Nintendo, not the actor who is getting payed for it. They love it!

French Mario: "C'est moi, Mario."
Everyone else: "What now?"

eh...could have been worse. i'll leave it at that.

It was fine. It was unfunny but not terrible.
Not sold on any of the voices, even Bowsers (sounds a bit too forced to hide his high pitch).
