Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Sonic Superstars

Bratwurst35

@liljmoore Yes. Why? Because Sonic games are just not co-op friendly. As others stated, the concept behind Sonic is speed. The idea is to go as fast as possible to reach the goal in as little time as possible.

Mario? Mario is slower paced as the focus is more on platforming and exploration. Mario co-op can afford to be chaotic, because the foundation is built on platforming, which in turns means players can take their time working together.

Remove Sonic from the equation, and yes, you can make a co-op Sonic game, but then it's not a Sonic game. It's a spin-off.

The core problem here, is Sonic. The character himself can easily outrun the rest of the cast. It's hard to balance a co-op system around him. Sonic's greatest asset is also his greatest hindrance. Sonic works best when it's just a single player experience. Sega has to constantly make levels designed around high momentum.

Mario on the other hand doesn't have such a hindrance, which in turn allows Nintendo to pretty much put him into whatever, and the majority of the time, it still works.

Re: Random: Bowser Tries To Woo Elephant Peach In Super Mario Bros. Wonder Ad

Bratwurst35

@Purgatorium It's not literal haha. I just find it weird when someone says an opinion online in a public space, but then choose to disengage immediately when others start criticizing it.

I mean if you are going to share whats on your mind, you have to expect others will share what's on theirs too.

I wasn't trying to bash Ryu, just they reminded me of a few people who I've met in my time, that enjoyed saying how they feel, but didn't enjoy others disagreeing with said feelings. Instead of defending said position, explaining it thoroughly, they just say some line to shut down the conversation all together.

Something along the lines like "Well it's just my opinion". Which is yeah, but you shared it with me and now Im sharing mines.

Re: Random: Bowser Tries To Woo Elephant Peach In Super Mario Bros. Wonder Ad

Bratwurst35

@Ryu_Niiyama This is an open platform. When you made a comment you signed a contract stating you are welcoming all responses.

If you don't like people criticizing or disagreeing with you, then next time, just not say anything at all. You chose to engage, and now you're disengaging simply because you don't like the negative responses.

I mean, you are free to do that, but it reflects badly on you. "Ok, whatever, It's just MY opinion, bye now." is a poor attitude to have.

Re: Soapbox: TOTK's Ganondorf Is Great, But Zelda Needs To Do More With Its Villain

Bratwurst35

@Znake Haha, what? Nintendo doesn't favor complex storytelling by choice. It's always been Gameplay above all else.

Zelda is surface level by design. There is no deep whatever it is you wrote. if you found something good on you, but don't go throw people under a bus as if they idiots who can't think for themselves unless told.

Dark Souls as you mentioned is one the best selling franchises alone. That alone already throws away your argument people are spoiled by tons of cutscenes and being spoon fed.

Re: Mario Movie's Jack Black Song 'Peaches' Now Eligible For Oscar Nomination

Bratwurst35

@Fath What modern fare punches down at it's source material?

I thought the movie was awful. Too fast paced, hit or miss jokes (Bowser's song included), and the plot forgettable. Even if Bowser need a cartoonish villain song (ugh), it could have been better written.

It did stay true to is source material and embraced it, but didn't do much without it other than constant references.

The only thing I give points is the movie looks decent.

Re: Video: Let's Discuss The Super Mario Bros. Movie

Bratwurst35

@PinderSchloss Don't know. It's weird. I never get the hate for critics. They watch a bunch a movies in a year yet people think they are a collective group of evil geniuses plotting to ruin things for the heck of it.

Even Nintendolife is getting a few grunts, and this site is pro Nintendo everything mostly.

Re: Site News: Love What We Do? Become A Nintendo Life Supporter!

Bratwurst35

@Ooyah That's nice and all, but people enjoy getting something in return for spending money. If it's free then they already have the best deal.

It's nice if you want to support something cause you care, but to others it's fair to ponder the worth of such a trade. Paying what you already get for free will naturally make people say "Well why bother then."

Re: Chris Pratt Defends "The Voices" In The Mario Movie

Bratwurst35

@Horace You did though. The first half of your comment is judging Charles voice performance. You assume that if given the chance, that is the voice he would use.

"I know one thing for sure and it’s that I definitely couldn’t stand to listen to Charles Martinet’s voice for an entire film. His “woohoo’s” work great in a game with next to no dialogue, but I couldn’t take an hour or more of “it’s a me…”"

Re: Bowser Defends $70 Zelda Pricing, Nintendo Still "Very Bullish" About Switch

Bratwurst35

@gameboy1975 I didn't assume anything about you. I just said the majority of you. That implies a good chunk. If you aren't any of that, then that part of the comment isn't directed at you. Rather at the people who are.

That's why I made said sure to emphasis "majority."

Now if you wanna call me a hypocrite. Go for it. Everyone is a hypocrite to some degree. Even I am.

I'm not tripping over 10$, Im just expressing my criticism of it. And if you haven't noticed from my comment, I already expressed I wasn't. I will continually go on about it just as much as those who continually support it.

I'm not hurting over anything. Cheers mate!

Re: Bowser Defends $70 Zelda Pricing, Nintendo Still "Very Bullish" About Switch

Bratwurst35

@gameboy1975 Mate, I could afford a brand new cars off the lot, but I purchased a used one with low mileage that will last me for as long as new one.

I have the means to do alot of things. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

This is the problem here. You are using extremes as means to dismiss anyone who doesn't agree with the price increase. No 10$ isn't the end world and no is pretending it is. Many here are just calling it for what is.

The people who refuse to pay for it, have every right to voice their opinion just as much as the supporters here. Stating "It's just 10$" is a way of trying to dismiss, belittle, and make any dissenting opinion invalid.

Half you here throwing out words like "entitled", and how people are "privileged." Yet the majority of you have no idea who the people are behind these screens are, and how they spend their money.

Maybe and this is just a thought, but maybe they don't wanna waste 70$ on game. I know right? It has nothing to do with the poor shaming some of you are doing here. Just they don't wanna. Strange huh?

Re: Mario Movie Directors Explain Their Take On Princess Peach

Bratwurst35

@RareFan See, I disagree. That would not be unique. It would just be an old fashioned idea.

Modern times? You make it sound as if this trend has been going on for decades when in realty it's been a little more than 10 years.

Let's takes Disney for example. The last animated film of 2009 tried to fuse both ideas together. It failed because the strong woman they built up quite easily had everything handed to her in the end because she married a rich guy.

If were to measure that film from then till today on how much the medium has changed, it is a drop in the bucket compared to the decades prior where the status quo was men can do everything and women can't.

It's honestly not even a fair comparison. So no, making her a princess that needs to be rescued wouldn't be a unique. It would just be the same old idea Nintendo has stuck with since Mario's creation.

Re: Saudi Arabia's PIF Is Reportedly Now Nintendo's Biggest Outside Investor

Bratwurst35

@SonOfDracula It's not that you can't solve problems, it's just you can't solve every problem in the world. People in general focus more on the issues within their sphere rather than outside it.

Everyone is selfish and hypocritical to a degree. It's emotionally exhausting for us to try and fix everything happening way outside our sphere.

Helping someone in need is good. Trying to solve every problem in the world is not. It's okay care and sympathize, but if you burden yourself with trying to fix everything, you will find it emotionally exhausting, draining and slowly become detached as you'll see more problems than solutions.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Tales Of Symphonia Remastered

Bratwurst35

@PinderSchloss I get you personally feel that, but doing one mildly passable thing in a pile of meh is not something worth applauding.

Sonic is over 30 years old old. Sega is not some indie studio, and this isn't Sonic's first big game. All these years and Sega still struggles to make a Sonic game that doesn't cause people to go "eh..." whenever they hear about a new title.

Sega has long since burned whatever soft passes they had. I don't think the reviewer set out with malicious intent, just brutal honesty with their experience.

Re: Metroid Prime Engineer "Let Down" By Exclusion Of Original Credits In Remaster

Bratwurst35

@Shambo

Guy 1: "Honestly, I don't care who knows i did it, I'm just happy to have been apart of it"

Guy 2:"Yep gotta say it wasn't easy, but I did it all on me own I did!"

Guy 1: "Hey, bud what you doing claiming you created that! I'll have you know I spent hours and days bringing that idea to life and here you are patting yourself on the back for it!"

Guy 2: "Well, I mean you did say you didn't care if people knew your name or not."

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Temporarily Listed On Nintendo Website For $70 USD

Bratwurst35

@Manah You didn't attack me personally. I'm just saying your comment came off like we should be grateful. You have every right to be equally upset about the price tag.

I just don't like the idea that one side thinks the other should be grateful simply because X is more expensive due to location. It comes off as saying one side is privileged when that generalizes an entire nation.
