Re: Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake Gets Seven-Minute Gameplay Overview Trailer

Bobobiwan

@johnedwin I'm thinking about double-dipping myself (damn you, Square Enix !), but I'm thinking : if I buy the regular Switch 1 game for my collection, I do not need the game-key card.

So maybe I'll end up buying the Switch 1 physical game (so my kids can also play it on their Switch Lite, for example) AND buying the Switch 2 version... digitally.

Re: Review: Kirby And The Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World - Kirby's Best Shines Even Brighter

Bobobiwan

Seems pretty great !

Just to be sure, I have two little questions :

1) So we can beat the regular game in its in own, if we want, before switching to the remixes levels ? Cause I'd prefer to discover it in its original form, for the first play-through.

2) If I buy the Switch 2 cartridge and let my kid use it with its own Switch Lite, will it let him play the original game, with the Switch 1 performance (so, 30 fps and all) ? Or does this new cartridge function only with a Switch 2 system ? It is pretty confusing... Sorry if I make repeat someone, it's just to be 100% sure...

Re: PS5 Hit 'Stellar Blade' Is Reportedly In Consideration For The Switch 2

Bobobiwan

This game is an absolute masterpiece. And not just because of the main character and her outfits ! No, it's a genially enjoyable action-aventure game, the kind you want to explore on and on, and complete every quest, this kind of thing.

It does nothing revolutionary, really, but what it does, it does it very well. Awesome graphics, a really great gameplay, a good story that keeps you pushing forward...

I never platinum my games, I just don't have enough time for that. But this one I did.

And I will double dip gladly if it ever comes to Nintendo Switch 2 !

Re: Street Fighter 6's Switch 2 Version Declared Tournament Legal By Capcom

Bobobiwan

This has now become my favorite version of the game.

Portability, cheaper online than Xbox or Playstation, the ability to improvise a match with a friend (just give him a joycon, put the Switch 2 in tabletop and use modern controls)...

And I like the fact that the game is relatively cheap right now (40 bucks in keycard) for the complete package (for now, off course, season 3 is coming).

I was reluctant, at first, since there is no cross save with other platforms, but the hell with it, I just downloaded my recipe to find again my good old avatar and now I'm going through the whole world tour again.

This game is great !

Re: Best Nintendo Switch 2 Cases To Carry And Protect Your Console

Bobobiwan

May I add the TomToc Sling bag ?

Because it's fantastic.

My reasoning was this one : the Switch 2 is not really, to my eyes, a portable. It is too big. It is a transportable. And there's a difference.

I cannot just shove it into my bag, case-protected or not. I mean : it needs its own bag. A bag to carry the console and some accessories (additional joy-cons, pro controller, you name it).

So I chose this one : the TomToc Sling bag. And I repeat : it's fantastic. Stylish AND very convenient.

Re: Publishers Are "Thanking" Nintendo For Game-Key Cards On Switch 2

Bobobiwan

@Spaceman44 No fanboy here, sir, I mostly play on PS5 pro and Series X. I was especially remembering some Xbox memories and a few PS5 ones. Some Ubisoft games, for example. Or the recent Indiana Jones (which is published by Xbox, so no surprise, here). And every time, the "mandatory download" mention you can find on the box is a tiny little one, the kind of mention you can miss when buying the game.

My argument was just that Nintendo is putting it right in front of the buyer, you cannot miss it. But I always prefer the game on the card (or disc), I repeat.

One of my most pleasant surprises on Xbox, recently, was Tekken 8 : the game was delivered on two discs, a rare thing for this console, and was complete (well, at the time, before all the updates). Street Fighter 6, if I remember correctly, was not manufactured like that. You had to download most of the stuff, right from day one.

Re: PSA: Switch 2's Flashy New Kickstand Is Perfect For TATE Mode Play

Bobobiwan

I did not try TATE mode yet, but I did notice that the huge size of the machine (it really is a big thing) seems to invite more than ever to play on TABLETOP mode.

Like, for a quick Street Fighter : detach joy cons, give one to your brother/ best friend / arch-nemesis, put the kickstand in action and it's immediately perfect !

We can really take the fight everywhere, now !

Re: Publishers Are "Thanking" Nintendo For Game-Key Cards On Switch 2

Bobobiwan

I'm already accustomed to them.

Would I prefer the whole game ON the cartridge ? Well, yeah, obviously. But since this is not happening for a lot of games, I can work with those cards.

Microsoft and Sony are already doing it, for a lot of games. But without advertising it. They're doing it quietly, keeping it in the shadows. At least, Nintendo is transparent about the full process.

And it works just like I had imagined : just put the card in, and it installs automatically, no eShop selection needed or whatsoever.

So yeah, it works for me.

But I'll always prefer real game cards off course, with the actual game ON IT.

But that's the new world we're living in, I guess. I've bought Mario Kart in physical (so, not in the bundle) and guess what ? It did an update straight away.

Just a small one. But it did.

So the whole "full game on the card" narrative is really becoming some sort of a memory, I guess.

Re: More Switch 2 Estimated File Sizes Seemingly Revealed

Bobobiwan

@Abrammchi Yeah, I know xD

When I wrote "double-dip", I did not mean to buy two copies of the game <.< It's just that I already have Cyberpunk on Xbox, but since the Switch 2 is cross-save compatible, I can see myself continuing my game on the move

So I'll buy it on Switch 2, too.

Re: Switch 2 Game-Key Cards Won't Make It Easy For Physical Collectors In Japan

Bobobiwan

Let's not forget Microsoft and Sony are doing this for a very long time, now. A lot (and I mean A LOT) of games sold are actually "game-key blurays". They just don't tell their consumers. Or not explicitly.

I remember realizing this on Xbox, the day I installed the Master Chief Collection. A few megabytes installed from the disc, and then more than one hundred gigabytes downloaded. But the game had been updated for so much years that I understood, at the time.

But now ? Assassin's Creed Shadows ? Mandatory download. Indiana Jones ? Same. It's a habit that became unfortunately very common.

For the game-key cards... I guess I'll go full digital, now. Cause the advantage of cartridges, for me, was to saving space on my memory console (as I'm not accustomed to selling back my games).

Sad day for physical lovers, indeed...

Re: DOOM + DOOM II Is Getting A New Limited Run Collector's Edition For $666

Bobobiwan

I totally understand there's a joke in this, and the bundle DOES look cool (with the box itself running the game !) but...

Seriously.

WHO is gonna pay that amount of money for this pack ?

I mean... you could buy a whole freaking console with that amount. You could buy a PS5, or a Switch 2 AND some accessories / games.

So is there any customer in line for this ? Besides one or two youtubers who will buy it just to share their "unboxing" video ?

Re: Street Fighter 6 amiibo Revealed - Price, Exclusive Rewards And amiibo Cards

Bobobiwan

@Destiny-Smasher Cross-play is a thing, yeah, and that's great.

But I would love also some cross-save function, just to keep my world tour character.

Shame that there's no real physical card for it either (it's a game-key card) but I guess, for this type of game, which is constantly updated, and that you want to be able to launch at any moment... I can sense the logic.

I just hope it won't take too much space on console's memory !

Re: Opinion: The Switch 2 Is A Powerhouse For The Price

Bobobiwan

I don't care about the general negativity (is there one ?), I'm so, so excited about getting my new system in less than two months !

Already sold my OLED to ease the pain of this damn price.

Yes, it's expensive, yes, there's a debate to have about the status of physical games (more expensive than digital ? more expensive in general ? Sorry, what ? Game Key cards ???)

But...

I can't help it.

I'm so hyped.

Because the console in itself looks really, really good. All I've seen shows me that this hardware is gonna be some great piece of technologie.

And it launches with a new Mario Kart (!) a new Donkey Kong (!!) and a new Metroid Prime (!!!) in the very first months of the machine.

My only curiosity : what's gonna be their Christmas game ? Surely it can't be Metroid, so... A new Mario for the end of the year ?

Re: Nintendo's Switch 2 'Game-Key Cards' Somehow Manage To Make Codes-In-A-Box Worse

Bobobiwan

I see that as an improvement over the "code in a box" situation, as, from my understanding, you'll be able to sell back your game after you've played it. The new buyer will acquire the key card and download the game. You won't be able to play it anymore (cause you don't hold the key card anymore).

So, an improvement. But only for the "code in a box" thing, which was crap anyway. Cause it stays a big disappointment for physical lovers (we want THE GAME on the cartridge. THE GAME !)
