Re: "People Have A Right To Be P****d" - Dispatch Dev Says It Intends To Address "At Least Some" Censored Switch Content

Bobobiwan

I really want to play this on S2, and I can wait. I can be patient.

But "at least some censored content" ?

NO.

You patch the damn thing properly, to give me a choice, an option to activate or not, EXACTLY LIKE ON OTHER PLATFORMS. An option to play it ENTIRELY UNCENSORED. Or to play it censored. But I want the option, I want to decide, as a full grown-up player.

You do that, and you got my money, sir.

Re: Nintendo Responds To Dispatch Switch Censorship With Official Statement

Bobobiwan

Ok, so basically "it's not my fault, it's yours" "No, man, it's you who said..." "Me ? ME ? Are you kidding, man, it's you who came to me and..." "OH ! COME ON ! YOU KNEW WHAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO DO AND YOU JUST..." "OH BOY WATCH THAT TONE OR I SWEAR I'M GONNA..." "YOU WHAT, HUH ? YOU WUT ???" (...) (...)

Ok, then.

Now, the only important thing for me :

WILL IT BE PATCHED ? Or do I have to buy it on PS5 ? Cause I'd really like to play this on the go, but censorship ? No, thanks.

Re: Sega Confirms Another Retro Arcade Game For Yakuza Kiwami 3

Bobobiwan

I really like this kind of feature. I have passed A LOT of time in Star Wars Outlaws playing those two retro-styles arcade games it features.

The fact that in Yakuza you play REAL old classics is so nice, too.

There's something so meta, so delightful in the fact that your character, in a game, can go to an arcade an play another game. It's vertiginous. Inception-style !

Plus, when your game is over and you come back to the real game (so Yakuza or Star Wars) everything looks so damn beautiful ! Cause your mind just accustomed itself to those old graphics, and then... Bam ! Back to the modern one.

I love it.

Re: Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined Demo - Switch And Switch 2 Performance Investigated

Bobobiwan

@steizgr8 Yep, Tactics has an official upgrade path to give you the real "Switch 2 Edition", with the S1 card.

For Draq III, it's a bit more complicated : there IS a free patch for S2, which give you S2 boost in frame rate and resolution, but it is not called Switch 2 Edition, it's just a patch for the S1. But there's no S2 edition at all for this game, neither digital nor physical-key-card-whatever. But the fact is that if you put your S1 card and do the update, yeah, it's a S2 Edition which does not say its own name.

Re: Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined Demo - Switch And Switch 2 Performance Investigated

Bobobiwan

Limited Run has just announced that they will produce real Switch 2 cartridges, this year, for games that were only available on game-key cards. Hopefully, some Square Enix games will make the cut. But I doubt it.

Shame on Square Enix for forcing this thing, by forbidding the upgrade from the Switch 1 version...

What I don't understand is this : if this works for Dragon Quest III and Final Fantasy Tactics, then it can works for all of their games !

Re: ICYMI: My Nintendo Adds Printable Metroid Prime 4 Box Art Cover, Databook Now Also Available In English

Bobobiwan

I received the game for christmas, I'm on it right now and I'm freaking loving it !

I immediately went with pointer and motion controls, and my muscular memory from the Wii Trilogy came back in a second ! Apart from a calibration button to re-center the thing from time to time, it works flawlessly !

I'm wasting a load of time scanning everything, just like in the old days. It's a joy. And the game is a beauty, definitely one of the prettiest games on the console !

Re: Reminder: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Is Available With A Switch Game Voucher

Bobobiwan

@electrolite77 Damn right it is ^^ Where I live, you have to look for sales in the big shopping centers : they usually put a very attractive price the very first days of release (or if you preorder) in order to get you there, to get you physically IN the mall, hoping you will also do there your shopping of the week at the same time.

Anyway, Assassin's Creed at nearly 40 bucks is a great price, indeed. I did got Outlaws for the same price, and I'm still playing it right now - a very great game if you ask me.

Re: Review: DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO (Switch 2) - A Brilliant Brawler With A Colossal Roster

Bobobiwan

For the 30 fps, I don't really know if it's such a bummer. I've read online some comments that I judge very interesting, stating that FOR THIS GAME SPECIFICALLY, it can even be considered better than 60, as it captures more accurately the feeling of the original DBZ anime - which was, as we all know, in 24 fps. Maximum. Because they were not 24 real drawings by seconds (too expensive for a simple TV show).

So, maybe, in this case, it may be not considered as an heresy as, for example, a 30fps Street Fighter, or Tekken.

Maybe for this game, it's okay. Because it's stable.

Re: One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 - Switch 2 Edition Announced, Includes Free Upgrade For Switch Owners

Bobobiwan

I'm loving more and more those S2 updates.

I like to have a real version of the game on a proper cartridge, even if it's the S1 version.

I like to have boosted graphics and frame-rate on S2, while keeping the possibility of letting the kids using the game on their Switch Lite.

And I prefer the S1 art boxes. I understand that this may be stupid for a lot of people, but it kind of matters to me. It's one of the reasons I'll buy Metroid on S1, for example. The box just looks nicer.

PS : SHAME on those editors who are purposefully blocking any upgrade path, even with a fee. DQ I & II, Atelier Ryza Trilogy... This is not cool. This is not tolerable.

If a game exists on S1 AND S2, there must be a way to upgrade your version. Period.

Sparking Zero, for example, will get my money for that.

Re: Capcom Has "No Plan" At This Stage For A Resident Evil Requiem Demo

Bobobiwan

Don't need any demo, we already know from the few minutes we saw that the game rocks like fire on Switch 2. And it's Capcom. And it's Resident Evil. We already know the quality of the final product.

The only question I'm asking myself right now is the support I'll choose to play it on first. If there's no VR support (still hoping, but Sony and PSVR2 really seem to have lost any hope of salvation), I'll probably choose to play it on S2, regardless of the downgrade from the PS5 / XsX versions.

The concept of hybrid gaming is such a win, for me. I'm playing more than ever before since I've got this little piece of magic tech.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Switch 2 Compatibility Update Released

Bobobiwan

That's fine and all, but I honestly don't understand why there is such a mystery - such a silence, in fact - about the potential Switch 2 / 60 fps update.

It was my understanding that a 60 fps mode was found in the datamine of the game right when it launched on Switch. Obviously, we were under the impression that this mode was ready for the Switch 2 console release.

And it's been months. I don't understand : will it stays 30 fps on Switch 2 ? And if not, why such a game of waiting ?

Re: Resident Evil Requiem Pre-Orders Live, Switch 2 Pro Controller And Amiibo Confirmed

Bobobiwan

@Styledvinny79 Yes, you can, but you'll have to create yourself another account for the region we're talking about.

It's very quick and easy, there's a guide on Nintendolife, if I remember it correctly. Personally, I have a US, a JAP and a HK account, for the rare games I imported from these regions.

When you got a DLC code, just log into the right account and redeem it, it will create a "Virtual game card" that will be logged onto your console. Then you can use the DLC even in your regular and normal account, if it's on the same console !

(Did it for Shinobi as I wanted the physical japanese edition, and that came with a DLC special skin).

Re: Resident Evil Requiem Pre-Orders Live, Switch 2 Pro Controller And Amiibo Confirmed

Bobobiwan

@Styledvinny79 Yes, pal : the key cards just download the game they're meant to, as soon as you put them in the console, regardless of your region or of any account (you do not even need to be logged in a specific Nintendo account, or any : this just acts like an installation card, as long as your Switch 2 is connected to internet - and that's just for the install' in itself : you can then totally play your game offline, once it's installed, just like for a regular card).

I have myself ordered and installed the japanese key card of Kunitsu Gami - works flawlessly on my European Switch 2.

Note like with any import game, if there is some dlc, then, or a bonus code to redeem, you'll need an account from that specific region in order to reclaim it.

But the main game in itself, from the GKC, won't require any specific regional account to be downloaded and played. 8)

Re: Sakurai Is Getting His Very Own Manga Biography

Bobobiwan

@hisownsidekick I did not know that ! You can be sure I'll be checking this out immediately ! Thanks for sharing all this information, pal

Oh, and about the manga : I'm pretty sure there will be some form of scan trad fan-made very soon, so I think we will at least be able to read it this way. But off course, if it's printed in my country, I'll buy it day one ;D

Re: Rumour: Assassin's Creed Shadows On Switch 2 May Clash With Metroid Prime 4

Bobobiwan

It seems to me that the general sentiment towards Ubisoft - as a company - clouds the overall judgement about their actual games.

I'm having a blast with Star Wars Outlaws right now : I bought it for its technical demo aspect, after all this praise that I've been reading about, saying how great this port was with ray tracing and all.

But I'm surprised to find a very good and enjoyable game, too.

As for Shadows, it geniully is, in my humble opinion, an excellent Assassin's Creed, with a good story (not historical accurate, maybe, but that's not new for this saga) and one of the most gorgeous environment I've ever played in.

I'll gladly continue my playthrough on Switch 2 if the port is as solid as Outlaws.

Oh, and Metroid under the Christmas tree, off course !

Re: "Lighting Is The Crucial Factor" - How Square Enix Made Final Fantasy VII Remake Look Great On Switch 2

Bobobiwan

@Daniel36 Maybe, yeah... But I'm also almost convinced that - for Star Wars Outlaws - the ray-tracing is better on the S2 version than it is on Ps5. Maybe because it's locked to 30 fps, maybe because the resolution is inferior, I don't know.

But the shadows, lights and all definitely seem more impressive on Switch 2 (for that specific game, I mean). I'm surprising myself spending a LOT of time on photo mode, on this game, every time I'm amazed by a specific panorama, by a glorious sunset... I certainly did not see that coming !

Re: "Lighting Is The Crucial Factor" - How Square Enix Made Final Fantasy VII Remake Look Great On Switch 2

Bobobiwan

Lighting in Star Wars Outlaws is really what makes this game apart from everything I had ever played on a portable format. This is really curious, because in some ways, the game is even more beautiful than its PS5 Pro counterpart. Don't get me wrong : I know that in terms of resolution and frame rate, characters models, etc... the Ps5/XsX version is better, I know that. I also have the game on Pro.

But you see, in some areas, I don't know how, or where to put my finger exactly, but in some areas the Switch 2 version just looks better, to my eyes. And my guess is this is all to do with the lighting, which is exceptional in this game.

I really want to double dip for FFVII and buy it again, but the storage, man... that's the big problem, for me. The cost of storage on Switch 2...

Re: Even Capcom Was Surprised At How Well Resident Evil Requiem Runs On Switch 2

Bobobiwan

It's the first time that I seriously consider taking the Switch version, day one, INSTEAD of its PS5/SeriesX counterpart. Well, the Switch 2 version, in that case.

But to this day, all of this portable ports were just some sorts of companions-apps, to my taste. For the big games, I mean, for the AAA.

But now... I'm playing a lot of Star Wars Outlaws on Switch 2. I also have the game on PS5 Pro and try to play it there too (it has a cross-progression feature - very nice), but nope. I'm always coming back to the Switch 2 version.

So maybe I won't have to double-dip for RE9, like I thought I would have to do. Maybe I'll only play it on Switch 2.

(Unless they confirm a VR version for PSVR2, off course !)

Re: New Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Trailer Showcases The Remakes' Fresh Features

Bobobiwan

@topsekret You spoke the truth, sir On PS5 it is an exception and people don't like it either when it's the case.

On Xbox, though, it has become a rule over the years (that's why Xbox games on PS5 are like that, I believe).

But I'm wondering if that will still be the case on Switch 2 in a year or two. It seems a LOT of people are against game-key cards, and third party games don't sell, because of that, like the way they're intended to. I mean, third party sales have obviously always struggled on Nintendo platforms - facing those giant Big N exclusives - but here, it takes the problem to an all new kind of level, I think.

My hope is that backdoor, a solution is trying to be figured out. The most obvious being the release of more sizable and affordable cards, but those things take time.

It seems than some editors are even starting to figure that proper physical releases constitute a solid argument for SALES, targeting their right audience with the right product.

Sonic Racing, for example, was quickly announced as a real game-card, for its release on S2 next year. And I'm going to wait for this version to support the move, by the way.

I don't know if I would have bought it on game-key card.

Re: Capcom Switch 2 Launch Title Gets Its First Big eShop Discount (US)

Bobobiwan

I already had Street Fighter 6 on SX, yet I picked it on switch 2 as a launch title.

And now this is the only version that I play. When you take the portability, the ability to improvise a quick match with friends or family ("here, grab a joy con, I'll kick your ass !") and those awesome graphics... Yeah, this really is a great port !

Highly recommended for anyone hesitating.

(Oh, and the solo mode is very fun, too !)

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Checking Out Switch Online's Virtual Boy Service?

Bobobiwan

Yes, I will buy the damn thing day one.

Cause I'm weak.

The Virtual Boy used to be a dream, for me. Alas, it was never released in my country. But I've read about it in so many magazines ! So, yeah, now that I can finally have one, I want one !

Off course, I would have preferred the option to buy the games with it. But that's ok : I'll keep the device's replica exposed in my bat-cave, just for the museum aspect of it.

Told you : I'm weak.
