Just using the system memory and uninstalling games I'm done for now. I'm mainly only using my Switch 2 for first party games so I suspect I'll be able to get away without an SD for quite some time.
@the_beaver I played like 80 hours of the base game exclusively solo on Steam as the online seemed fairly dead by the time I played it anyway. The thing that makes it work pretty well as a solo game is that the AI is really good at dodging and basically never dies so you're not handicapped with terrible teammates. It just means it's extra work setting up the party though as you've got four characters to worry about instead of one.
Even though I mostly game on Steam these days, I still have no interest in watching any of the other presentations other than Nintendo. I see the games that get announced from them and it's usually just a bunch of stuff I couldn't care less about.
If it's more or less just the same old game with a new coat of paint then it's a hard pass for me. It's why it's a bit annoying that they chose to show absolutely nothing in the recent Direct as I still have no idea if I should be at all interested or not.
I was keeping an eye on this one on Steam but it seemed to be a bit too buggy for my liking at launch based on what I read so it's a pass for now. I might consider it down the line on sale if it's in a good state.
The expansion price seems a little crazy to me, especially for a game that IMO feels lacking in content in the base game. I have no desire to ever return to the game anyway though so oh well I guess.
First half was boring and second half was boring but the five minutes in the middle where they showed Muramasa and Xenoblade back-to-back was peak content.
@jsty3105 Yeah it would have been fine if it wasn't leaked, although personally I still wouldn't be too excited until in either case until we see some gameplay.
If it's basically just the same game with a fresh coat of paint then I don't want it but the fact that they're still being secretive about it does give me hope that they must see the gameplay changes as a big deal, whatever they are.
More or less as expected. Fine with that pricing, should be good value for money. Gonna have to make a hard choice between playing this and Trails in the Sky SC at launch though.
Leakers ruined the annoucement but I was at least still interested to seeing what it looked like and then they didn't even show anything. Pretty lackluster way to end the Direct. Weird to have no gameplay footage or a date when it's releasing this year.
Looking forward to replaying Xenoblade Chronicles 2 considering it's been a fair while. Other two I've played a bit too recently to go back to for a while.
Not getting my hopes up for anything major after being pretty underwhelmed by most recent Directs but maybe this will be the one where I'm pleasantly surprised.
Only one of these I've tried (on Steam) was Mina the Hollower but I wasn't really feeling it so ended up just refunding it.
Not finished it yet but from what I've played so far I'm pretty confident in saying that Schrödinger's Call is my favourite game from May and possibly favourite of this year so far.
Been slowly playing through Schrödinger's Call which has been excellent so far. Perhaps best game I've played so far this year if the rest of the story holds up to what I've read so far.
Aside from that maybe a bit of Slay the Spire 2 or some other random roguelite.
@Joeynator3000 But the question is whether we'll still get another decent game in the vein of Rise in a few years or if they don't see that as necessary with the Switch 2 apparently being able to run Wilds.
I was hoping we'd get a new game built for the system like Rise rather than a port of this. Hard to see it running particularly great on Switch 2 and even if it does I think the game kinda sucks.
I bought it specifically for first party games so I'd give it about a 3/10 so far. Kirby Air Ride really fun but terrible matchmaking and DK Bananza was pretty decent but that's been about it so far. Mario Kart World was the most disappointing game I've ever played, Pokopia was pretty mediocre and the rest haven't looked worth buying so my Switch 2 mostly just collectsv dust.
Wouldn't necessarily say I regret buying it early though as I'd end up getting one sooner or later anyway (would buy it for Monolith Soft's next game along) so might as well get in before the price goes up.
@NerdyPaul I picked up Schrödinger's Call at launch because it looked pretty interesting, didn't even know it was reviewing well as I don't typically pay attention to VN reviews so that's interesting. Probably next on my list of games to try now that I decided to refund Mina.
Gave Mina the Hollower a go but I wasn't really feeling it so decided to refund before I hit the two hour mark on Steam. Maybe I'll give it another chance when it's on a decent sale in the future.
Started playing Enter the Chronosphere instead and that's been a blast so far. Pretty well polished for an early access game and one of the most interesting roguelites I've played in a while.
Also grabbed Schrödinger's Call the other day and would like to get into that as well if I can find the time. Looks like an interesting VN.
Not too impressed with the lineup so far. Plenty of releases but only a couple that have been better than some random indie game I could find on Steam for 1/10th of the price.
Splatoon Raiders and Fire Emblem should help with that but I could do with a good Direct to give me a bit more to look forward to.
Not sure how much has been added in this version but I don't need too much of an excuse to replay one of the greatest VNs I've ever read. Will likely pick it up if the reception is positive.
I was hoping they would do something actually interesting with the series when the rumours of a new game surfaced but another Star Fox 64 remake is about the least interesting thing they could have made.
Only one I've played is Vampire Crawlers. It was pretty a fun time, particularly early on, but it did get a bit easy and repetitive as it went once I got enough of the meta upgrades and had basically unlimited card draw and energy for the rest of the game.
OPUS: Prism Peak is definitely on my list of things I want to play but I still need to play Echo of Starsong as well.
I've passed on a majority of the Switch 2 first party releases so far partly due to the pricing so it's good to see Nintendo starting to be a bit reasonable with variable pricing.
Funnily enough this is one that I would have bought at a higher price point just because I love the series but happy nonetheless.
It would be nice it if Splatoon Raiders was releasing sooner rather than later as the Switch 2's first party lineup is awful so far and I'd love a reason to actually use the system but not getting my hopes up.
@GoldenSunRM That was essentially my main criticism of the game too. The main game is fine as is but the game could have really used an extensive post-game beyond just a few levels that ramped up the difficulty and used all the interesting mechanics to their full potential.
Already bought it on Steam just a few hours ago, funnily enough. Haven't played it yet but it looks like an interesting game and seems to be pretty highly regarded.
I played a little bit of the Wii version back in the day which was probably the start of me figuring out that horror games just aren't really my thing.
Honestly forgot this one was even coming out. Second game was pretty fun so I'll probably play it sooner or later but I've got other games to play at the moment so I'll wait for a sale.
I'll watch as usual but I'll be going in with pretty tempered expectations as I feel like the last few haven't been particularly great. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised.
Really loved the first game so looking forward to playing this at some point (after I can pry myself away from Mewgenics). Most other reviews so far seem to rate it a bit higher.
I've already given up on Mario sports games being any good at this point so not surprised to see that this one is also lacking. The price point for what's on offer feels ridiculous to me.
I'd grab a couple if there were two games I wanted but aside from Rhythm Heaven (if that's even included), I can't think of any other Switch 1 games I want that I don't already have.
Finished my second route in Nukitashi earlier but I'm mostly just deep in the Monster Train 2 grind at the moment. Been making pretty good progress so I might try to fill in the log book before the DLC launches early next month.
I'd grab a pair before they go if I were likely that I was going to pick up two more Switch 1 titles but I can only think of Rhythm Heaven so probably not worth it.
Still pretty annoyed that we don't have any sort of digital reward system at all anymore with Switch 2, on top of the already higher prices. I'm being much more picky about which first party games I'm buying now so I'll probably be giving Nintendo a lot less of my money overall than I did when we had cheaper prices.
A majority of these are games that I've looked into but have filed into the 'not quite good enough to buy when I have too many other good games to play already' category.

Re: Vanillaware's Underrated Wii Gem Returns On Switch 1 & 2 Early Next Year
This is a game I've wanted to replay for quite a while so very excited to finally have the opportunity to play it on modern systems.
I'll be picking it up on Steam rather than Switch though. Seeing a Vanillaware game actually release on PC for a change is also a pleasant surprise.

Re: Splatoon Raiders Is Alive, And It's Out This Summer On Switch 2
An extensive single player Splatoon game is something I'm very down with. Finally something for me to look forward to on Switch 2.
Just checked the eShop listing and the price seems very reasonable too which is nice.
