Really looking forward to this one. Heist is my favourite game in the series and if they do as good a good of expanding on the original as Dig 2 did compared to Dig then this should be even better. The job system looks fun.
I really like how the Joy-Con feel and play but I really hope the controllers for the next system are way more durable. I've gone through way too many sets thanks to drift and other issues.
@Diowine I was always expecting this to just be a bit of a filler year from Nintendo to be honest, if the next console is right around the corner. Their focus should be on making sure that has a big launch year like the Switch did.
I've never been able to tell the difference between 30 and 60 without seeing it side-by-side so I couldn't really care less as long as it's relatively stable.
Wasn't sure what to make about this one so was waiting for reviews before deciding either way and definitely passing on it now after glancing through its reviews so far. Seems like another one of those games that is trying to just get away with doing the bare minimum and for full retail price, no thanks.
If I do get it, I'm leaning towards a digital copy so for now I'm happy to just wait and see how it reviews before pulling the trigger on the download.
@Thief I had Reboot Camp preordered and was planning to get it day one but lost interest after it got delayed. I wonder how badly that affected its sales overall.
I was kinda resigned to Silksong potentially being the big announcement at the end which wouldn’t have really excited me as I haven’t even bothered finishing Hollow Knight yet so this was a extra pleasant surprise. I loved the first SteamWorld Heist (definitely my favourite SteamWorld game so far) so I’m pretty excited to see it get a sequel.
@iaLgan Pokemon cards at least hold some actual value though and can potentially be resold later I guess. A random in-game Pokemon is worthless and you're paying for something that you should be able to obtain for free without much trouble.
I'm thinking about going digital for the next system, mainly just because I don't have the space to keep piling up physical games forever but also I'd probably end up buying less games that I never end up getting around to playing. I'm still turned off by the idea of a digital only system at this stage though if it's backwards compatible as I still have a ton of Switch games I need to get through and I prefer not to have to carry around two different systems if I can avoid it. I could make do if I had to though.
Still got my Wii copy but it's been forever since I played it. Really enjoyed it back in the day and if they rereleased it on Switch or the Switch successor I'd buy it day one.
Expecting it to be a little while till the update comes to Switch but looking forward to going back to the game once it does. I mainly stopped playing because the higher stakes weren't really fun to grind in the current game but the new orange and gold antes should make it much more interesting.
I just position my dock sideways if I need to so that the cords come out the back instead so I haven't really ever felt a problem. More options are never a bad thing though if they were to implement this in the next dock.
Glad I pre-ordered this one early as it's been basically non-existent here since launch. Had a real blast with it. It's a pretty long game to do everything and I was still a little sad when it was over as I was still having so much fun. My favourite game of the year so far, will be tough to beat.
As a big fan of handheld gaming in general, I'm not against having more options in that space. It's very unlikely that any Xbox product will have much appeal to me though, handheld or otherwise.
It's a shame that Unicorn Overlord has been so understocked. It's such a great game and the more people that get the chance to play it, the better. Just finished it tonight and it's definitely my favourite game of the year so far (sorry Balatro).
That's still pretty respectable for an RPG, especially if there have been stock shortages. Dunno what it's like everywhere else but here in Australia it's been sold out basically everywhere I think. Glad I pre-ordered early and got a pretty decent price for it. My clear game of the year so far.
This has probably been my most anticipated game for a while now so glad it appears to live up to expectation. Look forward to starting it for myself when my copy arrives sometime in the next few days.
@UltimateOtaku91 I don't think they ever specified that it's a roguelite experienced but they also never said it wasn't. Plus a lot of the early gameplay footage we did see kinda alluded to the fact that it might be. Anyone who buys something before even what it is can only really blame themselves if they don't like it.
I had fun with the game but felt a little underwhelmed by the length, level of depth and replayability for the high price so in hindsight I feel like I should have waited for a substantial sale.
Quite a few games I'm at least somewhat interested in this week for the first time in a while but most of them are going to have to wait on my wish list for now. I picked up Balatro which is super addictive and now of course have the Splatoon 3 DLC to play as well.
I put 91 hours into the 3DS version and probably would have been all over it if I wasn't addicted to Balatro right now. I'll likely grab it again sooner or later though as long as they didn't stuff this version up somehow.
Could be okay but the title raises a bit of a red flag for me. They're likely deliberately trying to gain attention using similarities to the 'Tales Of' series which makes me feel like they're not confident that the game can be successful just on its own merits. I'll wait and see what the general reception for it is like though.
I stopped buying Amiibo pretty soon after they started so I only have a few Smash Bros. ones. Even if I had all the rest though, I still wouldn't get this one.
It's no secret that I haven't been a fan of recent Pokemon games and I'm all for other developers trying to create something new and better in the genre but I'm not interested in supporting blatant plagiarism.
Didn't expect to be left waiting as long as we have been for a new mainline game in the series but hopefully now that the first six have been ported to modern systems, we might finally be getting close to it actually happening. I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.
Ended up going with Team Solo as I was playing alone this time around anyway and we were pretty dominant in most of my matches so not surprised that we won. Been on the winning side five Splatfests in a row now which is nice.
This is one thing I'm not too fussed about, to be honest. A bit more would be nice I guess but I'm pretty content to keep using external storage like I have with all my downloaded Switch games.
I'll likely just be getting Another Code: Recollection and maybe the Eastward DLC. As much as I love Ace Attorney, I know all the games way too well to play them again so if I ever pick up the Apollo trilogy it'll just be for collection purposes.
Picked up Astral Ascent earlier which makes up 40/67 of these games that I own on Switch (although I'd only agree on the 9/10 score for around half of those). Most of the others don't appeal to me too much.
Really keen for this game, it looks great and Vanillaware games are usually really fun. I'll be sticking to the standard edition though like I always do. I don't have the space to be buying collector's editions.
1. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom 2. Octopath Traveler II 3. Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo 4. Master Detective Archives: Rain Code 5. Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
Honorable mentions to Dave the Diver, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Anonymous;Code, Pikmin 4, ghostpia Season One, Wildfrost, Theathrythm Final Bar Line and Fire Emblem Engage.
It's always hard to say what qualifies as 'hidden' but a couple of my favourites from this year which haven't been reviewed on this site as of yet are Wildfrost (roguelite deck builder) and ghostpia Season One (visual novel).
I was really surprised by just how much better it was to the first Octopath Traveler. First one was pretty good so I went into the sequel expecting another pretty good game but ended up with possibly my favourite JRPG that doesn't have Xenoblade Chronicles in the title.
The user scores here tend to be a bit all over the place so I don't think these lists are worth a lot but it's always a bit of fun to look through and see how out of place some games are. No big surprise at what made the top three though at the very least.
It's usually either family or solo for me. I'd like to pick Team Solo but I doubt the friends I play with would be having that so probably Family this time around, haha.

Not gonna lie, most of the games here look more interesting than almost everything we saw in the English presentation.

Even if they weren't hacked, spending that much money (or any money really) on a Pokemon seems crazy to me.

Re: Poll: What's The Best Final Fantasy Game? Rate Your Favourite Mainline & Spin-Offs
The Theatrythm games are easily my favourites in the series. Unpopular opinion but the mainline FF games are pretty mediocre as far as JRPGs go IMO.

Didn't need to think too much about this one before voting. Has to be Octopath Traveler II.
Re: Soapbox: It Feels Like Everyone Forgot The Best Switch RPG Of The Year
