I can really deeply recommend you the lost Artefact, the "Expansion" is sooo much better than TR3.
Was very much fun to play through it.
Golden Mask is also good.
Besides that, i am not the biggest Fan of TR3-5 and we better forget about six (even with the verz ambitious Fan Patch). The third has a bad Pacing and too many BS Moments.
I can also recommend the isometric GBA Game, it captures the Feel of the first Game pretty good
I did restore this and also wanted to exchange the new Hand with the exclamation mark and psx buttons. As the file for the later ones is the same, i had to mix the to files, these are simple pictures that you can open with paint.net, photoshop, gimp or whatever you like. Someone must have exchanged that specific file.
Btw. The lost Artefact is very very very good, much much better than TR3.
So, if you are serious, would you please delete your profile picture now? It is copyright infringement and you are actively sharing it here with others. Nintendo could get aware and contact Nintendolife to get rid off every picture that is uploaded by fans as a profile picture and has its characters in it.
You are comparing fan art with murder, lol. Don't you see a difference between free created art based on an existing IP and theft and murder?
You are also comparing fan art with an "what if company x would". We aren't talking about a coorporate thing here, we are talking about private persons that don't earn money from being creative.
Btw. You yourself are using a profile picture of an IP you do not own. A modder creates something from ground, even if based on an IP, you just copied that picture
With such strickt thinking, no one of us would be allowed to use such profile pics.
When i was a Kid my Mother made me a couple of Times a Teenage Ninja Hero Turtles Cake. The Cake was shared with others that came to my Birthdays. With the Logic you mention, this would be also forbidden, as she used the IP without paying for it.
Modding exists since the Dawn of Computing and People are creating all kind of fun Stuff. From the former mentioned Models in Games as Quake 3 to full blown Mods as Bid for Power.
The World would be very boring, if we go the very restrictiv Japanese "Copyright Infringement" Way.
That is why many Countries develope some kind of fair use Law.
because others do not want to publish it. It is a niche Game and physical Media is dieing. Don't be fooled by the Fear of missing out, most of the Switch Games are limited. The first Runs are often with the full Game, the next are gone or only a Code in a Box. Octopath Traveler and Doom 2016 are Examples, i got my Switch two Years after Release and there was no new Copy of Octopath Trabeler to be found. I got Doom 16 gladly on Amazon, but for the full Price.
@Draelyn i agree, i don't see what is Iconic about Ellie, she is so generic.
Even the Guards from Skyrim with their Arror in the Knee are more iconic
The Baldurs Gate Charakters also way too new, they have to stand the Test of Time.
Lara being even on Advertisments and one of the first Characters being so present outside of Video Games, really belongs to the iconic List besides of Mario.
You are mixing theft with the download of an illegal copy, it is not the same. You should also be very careful with the numbers you are throwing around, a potential loss is easily spoken, until a judges wants you to proof it, than it gets hard and most avoid it.
As said, if it would really have such an impact, than the industry would have been dead in the 80s and 90s. Any kind of DRM is killed off right at the first day and the game is easily aviable for those that don't want to buy it anyway.
Another example is the music industry, they abandoned DRM at all.
Or take Paolo Cuelho, he puts his books himself for free into the internet and he still sells them in several Millions.
Your media must be easily purchasable, than it sells.
Was a frame pacing issue, was driving me nuts, as i thought i am crazy. I played TR1 and 2 last Year and tested it also after noticing that and they did run fluent.
To everyone: Go play the lost Artefact
It is SOOO good, TR3 is annoying, but lost Artefact is a real Gem.
They were insane to hide it in the Gold Release for all that Time.
@Arawn93 ahh but most Games are cracked at the first day, some even see the light of day before release. It never has a true impact on the Revenue.
These People are not the majority the Comapnies will make money with. These People wouldn't buy the Game, even if it costs a Dollar and you do everything to please them. Some are just the Complainers that complain about everything, some are just broke and than there are also People with other Reasons.
You can see this also with Baldur's Gate 3, the Game came out on Gog the same Day as on Steam. It has no DRM and the Copy can be spread out without any Problem. Netherless, the Games sells wildly.
The Music Industry also sells its Music without DRM, after they learned from Napster, Kazaa and Limewire. Easy Access is more important than DRM.
They bought the games and don't have the hardware to copy the rom/image themselfs
They are broke
I have a Retrode2 and i copies all of my games. I have Pirates of Dark Water on the Super Nintendo, but when i see the prices of that game on ebay, i suggest people to pirate it. Nobody wins if someone buys an old module for up to 300€. Same with other games, i did look up how much they cost and i just did pirate them. The devs don't get any money out of it.
Also, i have Super Mario World since its release, got it on the GBA and on the Virtual Console (Wii U), also played it on Switch over Nintendo online. But i did pirate the NTSC Version for Rom Hacks, as they are never done for the PAL Rom i ripped myself. Nobody gets harmed of it.
But it shows, if it is aviable for a reasonable price, People will buy it.
Same with the Rerelase of Wild Guns, Joe and Mac and Cotton 100%, got them from Dragon Box.
It seems Nintendo itself is seeing it like that, they only go after people if:
They are doing it in a comercial way, as that Rom Side some years ago
It is a current system or project
Also other Companies, they put in the DRM in the first few months, as most of the revenue is done in that period. After that, a first discount comes out to convince people undecided and than most games only sell with high discounts. The DRM than often gets removed, as it makes no sense.
@Rambler Absolutly, you must update your Software regulary to keep it in the Store, a stupid and time wasting procedere. So maybe it was just not worth it.
Did he charge Money for the Emulator? Because in the End there are multiple free ones out there, just throw Retroarch on the Device and you are done
He could also throw the Emulator out in the Wild to allow Sideloads or put it on F-Droid.
But i agree, you can clearly see that the Industy is bloated and they aren't doing Games because they follow a creative and fun Idea, but they follow Rules to use Triggers of Addiction as Gambling Machines do.
Guess this can happen to any Company growing too much. More and more People come, Key People that head the Spirit leave and all you get is a Company with Employees that do their Job, Bureaucracy and in the worst Case People that aren't creative, but "activists". That leads to Prdoucts growing slowly, having no real Soul and being heavily influenced by Numbers of trending Products/Agendas.

@Bobb I guess not, she is just a Manager as everyone else. Managers are there to rule by Numbers, not by Passion and i get it, Activision Blizzard is a really really big Company, you can't manage it without using the Numbers.
But i guess such Managers need a Consultant with such Passion, because sometimes Numbers leads you to Diablo Immortal, as mobile Games make much Money, but they don't build up IPs.
From what i have read the last Decade over Blizzard, that they can't pass the Passion to the Teams, they see it just as a Job and they also can't hold them for longer Time Periods. This leads to mediocre Products.
The Spirit within Blizzard is gone.
Lets see if she can revive it, maybe she is smart enough and can do it, now also with Microsoft as a new Lead.
