Re: Sega Of America Set To Lay Off 61 Employees In March

@Clyde_Radcliffe hey totally agree, games have got to big for their own good in recent years. Personally I don't care for these endless open world crap fests. But unfortunately a lot do. But slowly it's killing the industry with ever growing costs, and demands from players. Indie scene is definitely becoming more interesting.

Great news, hopefully there will be plenty more. Outrun, Galaxy force, Super Hang on, Scud racer, Daytona, Sega rally. Would be amazing to see these titles brought back to life. Hopefully Panzer dragoon Zwei will get the conversion treatment absolute brilliant game. Panzer dragoon orta was pretty damn good as well.

@NeonPizza totally agree the 8, 16, 32 bit era's were simply amazing to me, still are. The games the box art, box styles. Every system had a real personality and uniqueness. I have kit from the Megadrive, Super Nintendo, Neo, PC Engine, Nes. All so different & collectable. Stuff today feels generic & sterile, no manuals in the physical releases anymore. Unfortunately like I said creativity, standing out. Being different is practically non existent today. Only Nintendo actually try to keep there own style.

@NeonPizza yes get what your saying, for me the techs great. Its all about the games, no blood & truth, Astrobot, ocean descent agreed that should be VR2. Polybius, Tempest. Something from Naughty dog, insomniac, Santa Monica studios, Konami. Personally I love 3rd person games in VR the scale. Immersion, stereoscopic 3D just looks incredible. Little nightmares would be a perfect fit. Also do you remember Starchild on VR1 that had serious potential for being the Metroid VR experience for PlayStation. Like I said hopefully things will get better. It seems Sony is being run by individuals who aren't gamers & don't have a clue. But it's all about profit & they seem to think live service games are the answer.

@NeonPizza again feel exactly the same way, it's annoy when games do look fantastic. Besides all the retro stuff. I love stuff like the original God of war games, Dantes inferno. Proper epic adventure hack n slashers. But now great games like that are considered to linear!! Some of us love linear. Not constant open world grind fests. Even Spiderman 2 is being criticised for being to short lol. Robocop to linear. Enjoying Spiderman, intend to get Robocop soon. Regards to VR2 I picked one up at launch, again amazing tech being let down by support. Because devs don't want to be creative or Sony doesn't. Starting to regret the purchase, especially no Astrobot!! Hopefully next year. Things really need to change the industry is going to the dogs slowly.

@NeonPizza yes that's the problem with the industry today. Its all about sales, no risks. If something doesn't sell millions its regarded as a failure. Its all soulslike, Metroidvania. Roguelite, open world cut & paste. The glory days of the Japanese gaming eras has long gone unfortunately. Luckily I have plenty of amazing retro kit & games to relive those times.

@NeonPizza hey I'm totally with you, everything has its place. But all this constant whining about tech specs drives me mad. I like some of today's games. But mostly I play retro arcade & consoles. Still some of the best video games ever made are on Megadrive & Snes. Incredible chip tunes, with stunning pixel art. This constant obsession with 4k, frame rates, Ray tracing is a piss take really. Videogaming doesn't have to be about realism far from it, its about fun engaging games. Something Nintendo has never lost. But even they aren't as good as they used to be though. And agree can't beat CRT for gaming, motion blur is a nightmare on today's TVs.

Re: Digital Foundry Digs Into The Nvidia Chip Rumoured To Power 'Switch 2'

@NeonPizza totally agree innovation would be great. Something Nintendo always brought to the table. New hardware from them is always exciting, you never really know what to expect. Personally I don't give a ***** about specs anymore. The obsession with it today is a joke, games look amazing now regardless. The bottom line is game play something Nintendo deliver in spades, isn't that what video gaming is about. Digital Foundry need to get a life & Just play games.

Re: Video: Sonic Superstars Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison (Switch & PS5)

@LieutenantPete yes & no still prefer 16bit gaming personally. Most games nowadays are padded out with unnecessary crap to justify the price tag. Sick to death of openworld roguelite stuff to be honest. For me the industry feels stuck in a rut. Love games like Uncharted, Dantes inferno, original God of war. Linear is a dirty word in today's gaming.
