@Clyde_Radcliffe hey totally agree, games have got to big for their own good in recent years. Personally I don't care for these endless open world crap fests. But unfortunately a lot do. But slowly it's killing the industry with ever growing costs, and demands from players. Indie scene is definitely becoming more interesting.
Bottom line is games development is getting more & more expensive. Companies are suffering, that's why originality is scare nowadays. Devs just make games for maximum sales. Unfortunately it doesn't work that way.
Great news, hopefully there will be plenty more. Outrun, Galaxy force, Super Hang on, Scud racer, Daytona, Sega rally. Would be amazing to see these titles brought back to life. Hopefully Panzer dragoon Zwei will get the conversion treatment absolute brilliant game. Panzer dragoon orta was pretty damn good as well.
I know most probably want Switch 2 to be just that. But what I love about Nintendo is the quirky innovation they bring to the industry. Its almost a bit disappointed to think it's just going to a Switch with more power. Time will tell I guess.
Not happy it's not on cartridge, but I will buy. Not sure about the graphical style, I'm old school & prefer pixel art. But if its anywhere as beautiful as Mario wonder then I'm in.
For one Digital Foundry have no idea what Nintendo have to reveal in the specs department. Secondly I don't give a ***** for GTA especially on a Nintendo system. If I wanted it I could play on my PS5.
Personally I hope nintendo keep the switch as the new Gameboy. And bring something new to the table. It almost feels a bit boring to think the successor to switch will be much the same with more power. I know some will disagree but hey we all have our own opinions.
@NeonPizza totally agree the 8, 16, 32 bit era's were simply amazing to me, still are. The games the box art, box styles. Every system had a real personality and uniqueness. I have kit from the Megadrive, Super Nintendo, Neo, PC Engine, Nes. All so different & collectable. Stuff today feels generic & sterile, no manuals in the physical releases anymore. Unfortunately like I said creativity, standing out. Being different is practically non existent today. Only Nintendo actually try to keep there own style.
Hard to believe the Konami of old & the Konami of new. With the amazing arcade & console games they have produced in there heyday. We get mediocre ports at best of Metal gear. Good job they gave way forward another crack at Contra. But even that looks suspect. Especially compared to DS contra 4.
@NeonPizza yes get what your saying, for me the techs great. Its all about the games, no blood & truth, Astrobot, ocean descent agreed that should be VR2. Polybius, Tempest. Something from Naughty dog, insomniac, Santa Monica studios, Konami. Personally I love 3rd person games in VR the scale. Immersion, stereoscopic 3D just looks incredible. Little nightmares would be a perfect fit. Also do you remember Starchild on VR1 that had serious potential for being the Metroid VR experience for PlayStation. Like I said hopefully things will get better. It seems Sony is being run by individuals who aren't gamers & don't have a clue. But it's all about profit & they seem to think live service games are the answer.
@NeonPizza again feel exactly the same way, it's annoy when games do look fantastic. Besides all the retro stuff. I love stuff like the original God of war games, Dantes inferno. Proper epic adventure hack n slashers. But now great games like that are considered to linear!! Some of us love linear. Not constant open world grind fests. Even Spiderman 2 is being criticised for being to short lol. Robocop to linear. Enjoying Spiderman, intend to get Robocop soon. Regards to VR2 I picked one up at launch, again amazing tech being let down by support. Because devs don't want to be creative or Sony doesn't. Starting to regret the purchase, especially no Astrobot!! Hopefully next year. Things really need to change the industry is going to the dogs slowly.
@NeonPizza yes that's the problem with the industry today. Its all about sales, no risks. If something doesn't sell millions its regarded as a failure. Its all soulslike, Metroidvania. Roguelite, open world cut & paste. The glory days of the Japanese gaming eras has long gone unfortunately. Luckily I have plenty of amazing retro kit & games to relive those times.
@NeonPizza hey I'm totally with you, everything has its place. But all this constant whining about tech specs drives me mad. I like some of today's games. But mostly I play retro arcade & consoles. Still some of the best video games ever made are on Megadrive & Snes. Incredible chip tunes, with stunning pixel art. This constant obsession with 4k, frame rates, Ray tracing is a piss take really. Videogaming doesn't have to be about realism far from it, its about fun engaging games. Something Nintendo has never lost. But even they aren't as good as they used to be though. And agree can't beat CRT for gaming, motion blur is a nightmare on today's TVs.
@NeonPizza totally agree innovation would be great. Something Nintendo always brought to the table. New hardware from them is always exciting, you never really know what to expect. Personally I don't give a ***** about specs anymore. The obsession with it today is a joke, games look amazing now regardless. The bottom line is game play something Nintendo deliver in spades, isn't that what video gaming is about. Digital Foundry need to get a life & Just play games.
This should be a no brainer now, all the games I have downloaded on Switch. I should be able to play on the new system. Sick to death of being forced to rebuy games. That's why I hate downloads. Luckily Sony did the right thing with PS4 to PS5. Everything I owned on 4 is on my 5.
Funny review, bigs it right up to not earth shattering lol. But then what is nowadays, let's face it everything has been done. Most games are just copy & paste of what was before. But Nintendo always manage to deliver.
@LieutenantPete yes unfortunately I need to come to terms with the games industry doesn't cater or particularly give a damn about a 52 year old gamer lol. But open world is getting monotonous, along with Metroidvania, roguelite. Its like PSVR2 purchased one but again disappointed with the range if games.
@LieutenantPete yes & no still prefer 16bit gaming personally. Most games nowadays are padded out with unnecessary crap to justify the price tag. Sick to death of openworld roguelite stuff to be honest. For me the industry feels stuck in a rut. Love games like Uncharted, Dantes inferno, original God of war. Linear is a dirty word in today's gaming.
@LikelySatan totally agree, unfortunately Sega aren't what they used to be for sure. Its annoying with all the the amazing back catalogue they have as well.
@LikelySatan personally I always saw this game having co-op a big flaw. Its inevitable that players would get split completely messing up the experience. But hey each to there own. I never play on line or co-op so solo is always for me.
The unnecessary co-op brought down the ps5 review. Personally i will play solo so easily an 8/10 for me. Developers really need to stop making games that fits all, because it just ***** things up.

Re: Review: Sonic Superstars - A Fine, Authentic-Feeling Return That Runs Great On Switch
Definitely getting this, not interested in co-op. Only single player for me:)

@LieutenantPete yes & no still prefer 16bit gaming personally. Most games nowadays are padded out with unnecessary crap to justify the price tag. Linear is a dirty word in today's gaming.

@GoshJosh yes that's the scary thing, I remember when games were £1.99 to £10 lol 😆
Re: Video: Sonic Superstars Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison (Switch & PS5)
Looks fantastic, but the price of new games is getting ridiculous. Spider man 2 on ps5 is a prime example.
Re: Site News: So, Where's Our Sonic Superstars Review?
@LikelySatan again totally agree, give these old franchises to devs that really are passionate about retro gaming.
