@DennyCrane @JaxonH I remember getting Prime 1 as a Christmas gift. That was one of the most atmospheric and memorable Christmas seasons in memory. What a masterpiece.
So I too have thought about asking it for a gift, but I caved when I could use some Best Buy Rewards towards it
@delanoche Disclaimer: Mackenzie died on the way back to his home planet
@Bolt_Strike Actually it might be how they intend to expand the audience of a niche IP. Metroid doesn’t sell nearly as well as other Nintendo franchises, so doing the same thing isn’t likely to warrant more purchases by itself. Maybe they think there should be more interaction with NPCs and at least use them to teach the player how the game works, before Samus is sent out on her own (though it really should be Samus teaching)
It’s pretty crazy how intense that first Depths level is: boss after miniboss. But on Hard the bosses can feel bullet-spongy (like my attacks don’t matter at all until the weakness gauge shows). On the other hand, it really does feel like you’re fighting those same enemies from TotK. The weapon building process also seems way slower paced this time. Game looks and runs great and is superbly acted and shot. Princess Zelda is finally a power goddess
To be fair, Double Dragon has almost always played like B-grade material. River City Ransom (and Super Dodgeball) was the real crowning achievement of Technos
@canaryfarmer Very generic anime cutscenes, at that 🙄
@Cia "Musou" (無双) is a Japanese term that translates to "unrivaled" or "unmatched".
Warriors series name In Japan. The Warriors action game series by Omega Force and Koei Tecmo is called Musō. It includes franchises like Dynasty Warriors and Hyrule Warriors 🌈💫
@kmtrain83 I believe you can switch it to “always point north”. I can’t stand minimaps rotating when I do.
@johnedwin1969 It’s 79 on Metacritic now
@Citano Mario should totally get the next Musou treatment. Imagine how chaotic it could be sending green shells everywhere and having Kamek change the battlefield; or Hammer Bros. launching from the rear.
@Dimey AoC is literally not the same world. It was 100 years before BotW, just before Ganon wrecked Hyrule, so there would be more denizens (it is also set in an alternative timeline; it is revealed )
@rjejr It certainly never hurts to wait for a price drop or an ultimate release, but you could be waiting awhile. That’s why I appreciate Sakurai-san outright saying there are no plans for Kirby Airriders DLC; you know there’s no point waiting on that one
@calbeau They would have to create in game assets to match every game available on the service. Too much work to keep that updated (and tested) probably. Also probably extra licensing rights would be needed.
@DollyrotsFan1 I’m so sorry for your loss. Pets are so precious and it’s not fair they leave us so soon. I hope you find happiness again with a new furry friend, and yea, Zelda Warrior can wait
@rvcolem1 Yeah it’s a daunting amount of content for completionists
@BimblingGaz Do you just not like Warriors games? I don’t think this next one will change your mind. It’s awesome Princess Zelda is the lead though. I’ve personally appreciated the Dynasty Warriors series since its inception at the launch of the PS2 (I was in awe at the time how many soldiers they could render onscreen), and the Zelda ones have been the absolute creme de la creme of the series.
@GoldenSunRM The adventure maps were bloody brilliant but damn do they feel daunting to complete
@Truegamer79 I have had zero issues with the performance of this game on Switch 2: it looks and runs amazing on OLED tv. Do you mean in handheld mode?
@The_Nintendo_Pedant I mean, they were always very clear up front about it being ‘available for a limited time’. I have no doubt they will eventually release a collection that contains all 4 games (and cost $100)
@JohnnyMind There’s a certain baked in rhythm to maximizing height on those half pipe puzzles; you have to know when to let go of the button in order to cancel in the next, higher boost. It definitely takes some trial and error, and it feels very similar to how Sonic the Hedgehog goes up similar half pipes
@XE77 These games really are infinitely replayable. For instance, I created a Doomguy character where I never used VATS or the Settlements and I just play it like a shooter, and I take all the perks that buff that, (and I found out later there is DLC that adds Doomguy helmet and BFG weapon, so I felt vindicated in my decision). It was a super fun, challenging, play through that changes up the normal gameplay.
On PC, using lots of Settlement mods, I played a character that’s sole purpose was to build up their super mansion by raiding ruins and collecting materials.
@Coalescence SR388 Ruins is a mood. Really tense and alien sounding (kinda like “Norfair” from Metroid 1)
@Kilroy I remember waking up early on Christmas at my Gramp’s and finding this game in my stocking! I couldn’t wait to relay we got it, to my older brother (who was still asleep with the rest of my family). The box art is still epic.
@MarcusIsCool Good game music is always good game music. I was just listening to all manner of NES, Super Nintendo and Gameboy music today through the app
@Zeebor15 It’s the long awaited sequel to the first Direct (movie). This direct will wrap up all the loose ends from the cliffhanger story, and you won’t believe who dies!
Tough choice; both great examples of good art and composition, but the western one actually shows exactly what the game is about; whereas the Japanese cover is just almost every character looking really silly. JP looks less like product-shelf art and more like back-of-the-manual spread image
@wollywoo WRONG! They were seared by a holy cross. (Duh!)

@Anti-Matter It’s not hard to refill your lives supply by replaying earlier levels. Most Marios are designed that way, and further on in the game there are plenty of 1-ups to get again—over and over— in the hub.

Welp, guess it’s just a bad port then. Terrible audio issues
