Re: Preview: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Is Great, But I Want To Kill One Of Its Characters

@delanoche Disclaimer: Mackenzie died on the way back to his home planet

@Bolt_Strike Actually it might be how they intend to expand the audience of a niche IP. Metroid doesn’t sell nearly as well as other Nintendo franchises, so doing the same thing isn’t likely to warrant more purchases by itself. Maybe they think there should be more interaction with NPCs and at least use them to teach the player how the game works, before Samus is sent out on her own (though it really should be Samus teaching)

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment?

It’s pretty crazy how intense that first Depths level is: boss after miniboss. But on Hard the bosses can feel bullet-spongy (like my attacks don’t matter at all until the weakness gauge shows). On the other hand, it really does feel like you’re fighting those same enemies from TotK. The weapon building process also seems way slower paced this time. Game looks and runs great and is superbly acted and shot. Princess Zelda is finally a power goddess

Right now a ‘B’ for me

Re: Review: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment (Switch 2) - A Stunning Slice Of Musou, Worthy Of The Zelda Canon

@kmtrain83 I believe you can switch it to “always point north”. I can’t stand minimaps rotating when I do.

@johnedwin1969 It’s 79 on Metacritic now

@Citano Mario should totally get the next Musou treatment. Imagine how chaotic it could be sending green shells everywhere and having Kamek change the battlefield; or Hammer Bros. launching from the rear.

@Dimey AoC is literally not the same world. It was 100 years before BotW, just before Ganon wrecked Hyrule, so there would be more denizens (it is also set in an alternative timeline; it is revealed )

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment?

@rvcolem1 Yeah it’s a daunting amount of content for completionists

@BimblingGaz Do you just not like Warriors games? I don’t think this next one will change your mind. It’s awesome Princess Zelda is the lead though. I’ve personally appreciated the Dynasty Warriors series since its inception at the launch of the PS2 (I was in awe at the time how many soldiers they could render onscreen), and the Zelda ones have been the absolute creme de la creme of the series.

@GoldenSunRM The adventure maps were bloody brilliant but damn do they feel daunting to complete

@ElkinFencer10 And I recommend Saga 2

@Truegamer79 I have had zero issues with the performance of this game on Switch 2: it looks and runs amazing on OLED tv. Do you mean in handheld mode?

@The_Nintendo_Pedant I mean, they were always very clear up front about it being ‘available for a limited time’. I have no doubt they will eventually release a collection that contains all 4 games (and cost $100)

Re: Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition Brings The Apocalypse To Switch 2 In 2026

@XE77 These games really are infinitely replayable. For instance, I created a Doomguy character where I never used VATS or the Settlements and I just play it like a shooter, and I take all the perks that buff that, (and I found out later there is DLC that adds Doomguy helmet and BFG weapon, so I felt vindicated in my decision). It was a super fun, challenging, play through that changes up the normal gameplay.

On PC, using lots of Settlement mods, I played a character that’s sole purpose was to build up their super mansion by raiding ruins and collecting materials.
