@Axecon The new standard will be $80, $90, $100 (GTA). The production costs of these games are getting too big, when you can make something much quicker for mobile and likely rake in more.
@blindsquirrel The in between areas are to give you a place to practice moves and riskier driving before a real ranked match happens again. Besides you can still vie to win the in between races too— stick it to the second place rival that’s constantly on your tail from the real races.
More importantly, the in between areas really serve Knockout mode and give the whole thing an Outrun feel, and, like that series, it helps to gradually blend in new environments as you near new biomes and vistas
@SillyG That’s kinda what Lightning Bolt already accomplishes. Everyone else’s game becomes less fun for several seconds.
@Dinglehopper You can still probably race those back to back in VS / Quick Play mode
@GinMiguel What? Goombas have been a mainstay of the series since Super Mario Bros., and you don’t think they deserve to be playable? How can you not love that little Oscar-the-Grouch face?
@kuu_nousee How much is a movie ticket these days and how much value is derived from it. Mario Kart will easily give most players 10x that value. How is $80 not justified based on the value of the total package? We will be playing this for years
@Ulysses Yeah, I’d rather have localized damage to limbs and weak spots; like if you could use a cool down power to specifically aim your weapon or magic to stun or stagger or topple (and of course enemies can try to do this to you too), but they can also fake you out and make you miss. Let’s bring back Bushido Blade mechanics
@gsilver I guess the new inventory system will help you then.
@Jam777 I collect a ton of Amiibo too but I also own the third party (bootleg) Amiibo mini cards; that way I can enjoy scanning for items but leave the Amiibo in their display boxes.
@Wisestfool The SF6 figures are very detailed: take a look at the complexity of their worn ‘fabric’
@Scarmucci How did the Sages abilities suck? You could have them all active in your party, and one of them essentially gives you infinitely replaceable weapons.
@dew12333 GTA 6 will very likely be at least $100. Something had to give: games can’t just grow more wildly ambitious and beautiful without an expected counter force to still make the bottom line. It’s the number one dilemma with modern AAA production
Final Fantasy Legends games were my first foray into the SaGa verse. I wonder if we’ll see any references to those. Like monsters that can transform after eating their kills, or dual wielding mutants.
@WaveBoy I agree that 200cc feels unnatural on most of the courses, however keep in kind that you can brake during a drifting slide. I also wouldn’t mind a permanent mirror ui element but I bet that could stress the system (on Switch 1). I would also like the ability to time a good jump over shells, or bring the feather back.
I think having too many uses for all the weapons would be hard to balance (just look at the original Mario Kart), but there should be at least 1 more way to stop a blue shell (shoutout to the feather again).
Despite all this, Mario Kart 8 is by far my favorite in the series. It’s so polished and pretty and there’s so much awesome mayhem going on.
@Specters They often make a lot of good points actually. And at least they aren’t nearly as annoyingly cheerful as in their original show. They tell it like it is and they do bring perspective, having worked for Nintendo’s marketing department before
@Chlocean They’re much more natural around each other now
@gb_nes_gamer Newer Mario Kart gamers still need that gentle incline in difficulty; especially young kids. I hope there is a 250cc mode to accommodate for the wider tracks. I also hope there are proper reverse courses (instead of just mirrored ones)
@IceClimbersMain I’m the opposite, but I only have the original Steam Deck: I play my Switch OLED handheld or docked far more than any of my other systems (PS5, Gaming PC, Evercade, Arcade1Up). The Switch looks great on my OLED Tv too.
DK’s art direction is nowhere near as impressive as Odyssey’s. Might be due to the destructive environment that they had to go with much simpler textures and an overall flat lighting engine (from what I’ve seen)
@Abrammchi I prefer not having those UI extras if it keeps the frontend lightning fast. Do you remember how slow WiiU OS was? 3DS was better but Switch is so game-switch friendly
@MH4 Yeah they definitely didn’t care much about composition with these; the goal being to advertise what activities your Miis could perform or partake in.
I like the NA logo with its cute use of quote bubbles, but it’s way too busy. I like the color scheme of the JP one and the logo fits better with the rest of the design, so I went with that one.

Re: Zelda Fans Are Concerned About The Free Switch 2 Updates, But Don't Worry
@AG_Awesome Arkham Knight has way more problems in the port than just the framerate issues
@BoFiS Good point on the overclocking example
@The-Chosen-one Hope Need for Speed runs better too
@Clark2k I personally can’t tell the difference between 60 fps and 120 fps, other than that 120 seems to make me motion sick
Re: Rumour: Yuji Horii Might Have Let Slip Some Massive Remake News
@speedracer216 I second that emotion
Re: Rumour: Yuji Horii Might Have Let Slip Some Massive Remake News
@Lizuka That’s just art direction— they don’t have to make it look like that just because it’s 2.5 D
Re: Yes, You Can Adjust The Camera In Mario Kart World
@RupeeClock This way you can actually death stare with Luigi while death staring with Luigi
@Axecon The real problem is securing a Switch 1 copy of Lunar Remastered Collection

A beautiful, talented lady.
Re: Analyst Predicts Record-Breaking Launch Numbers For Switch 2
@OorWullie I think Zelda will be year 3, but 3D Mario will be year 2. I suspect another Luigi’s Mansion, Animal Crossing or Fire Emblem in between
@Buizel “Continue the research”

@dleec8 Wow you lucked out on all that. Congrats
@Sans_Undertale Did you cancel it? Hard to tell from your post.
Re: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Is Set To Be Officially Announced Tomorrow
@Arawn93 Update how? It uses the Elder Scrolls “Level by use” system
Re: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Is Set To Be Officially Announced Tomorrow
@Tokujo Competition is going to raise their prices too
@Anachronism Oblivion is far more generic fantasy pretty- it’ll look really good in the remaster
Re: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Is Set To Be Officially Announced Tomorrow
@LavaTwilight That’s the one [Morrowind] that should have been remade first
@stevep You’re supposed to close the gates; it’s told you’re supposed to do this everywhere. There is no confusion about the player’s goal

Re: Review: Lunar Remastered Collection (Switch) - Two Of The Most Charming RPGs Ever Get A Fair, If Flawed, Port
@MeloMan Yeah, much love for Lufia, but they did try to remake 1 … into an action RPG. 😬
Oh well, the soundtrack was still really good

If inventory cat messes with Silver Star’s difficulty, I just will not use inventory cat. I will use battle speed up though.

Re: Nintendo Direct: Mario Kart World: Time, Date, Where To Watch, What To Expect
@WaveBoy The Challenge mode in DS was cool; also that game gave us Waluigi’s Pinball (one of my all time favorites)

Re: Nintendo Confirms US Price For 'Switch 2 Welcome Tour'
@Abrammchi But also terrible loading times up front.
@marck13 I think the better Nintendoland analogy would be to the upgrade to the Mario Party Jamboree. Those minigames seem more well rounded
Re: Nintendo Confirms US Price For 'Switch 2 Welcome Tour'

The only ones whom will buy this are impatient parents who agree to the upsell notification that I’m sure will pop-up on Switch2 setup
