I almost lost my copy of NFS2SE to disc rot, I don't even know how I was able to dump the disc to an ISO image for future preservation.

Sounds like a true successor to the 3DS would be a very basic SKU of the Switch (stripped down JoyCons and probably a beefier battery)

@BlatantlyHeroic Given Nintendo's insistence on billing the Switch as a "home console", the size, and the reported battery life (3 hours) I won't discard the possibility of a "Switch mini/DS" appearing in 2 years or so.

Putting your eggs in one basket is a rather risky proposition and if it even works you will see dimmishing returns over time; making the Switch a family of systems would be the best course of action for Nintendo.

It would be dumb if Nintendo puts all their eggs in one basket with one model/form factor of the Switch.

I expect to see a portable-only "Switch Lite/Mini/DS" and probably a home-only "Switch TV/Pro" down the line.

Even though Nintendo was in the legal right to do this, it's still a bad move PR-wise, given how people despise Fed Force (to somewhat irrational levels, but still...)

Because in the real world it is compromised. I don't deny the appeal of such device but in practical terms it has to sacrifice either price, performance or even size. And your dream device already exists: it's called the nVidia Shield. It's a damn fine piece of hardware, no doubt but it was too expensive (first at 350USD, then slashed to 299), it was bulky and with no exclusive games it didn't even put up a fight with the 3DS and even the Vita; in fact nVidia had to expand the lineup to stand a chance (Shield Tablet and Shield Android TV)
