Graceful Explosion Machine developer, Vertex Pop, has announced a brand new game headed to Switch next year: Super Crush K.O.
The game is a fast-paced brawler/shoot-em-up hybrid set in a vibrant, near-future city. Players will be able to take control of a neon-wearing, robot-stomping hero, aiming to save humanity from an AI apocalypse. You'll be punching your way through waves of bots, launching them into the air and blasting them out of the sky, all chained together in huge combos.
Features:
- Lightning-fast gameplay that seamlessly blends shoot-em-up action and intense beat-em-up combat
- Take on wave after wave of varied enemies with a deep combat system, designed with easy-to-execute combos and enemy juggling in mind
- Explore a beautiful, colourful world inspired by futuristic urban cityscapes and pastel skylines
- Online leaderboards and ranking systems will keep you coming back to S-Rank dozens of levels
We have no specific confirmed release date for this one just yet, as the game is currently scheduled for a 2019 launch. We loved Graceful Explosion Machine, however, awarding it an 'excellent' 9/10 in our review last year, so we're very hopeful for this next game from the team.
What do you think? Will you be keeping an eye out for this?

They've definitely got their aesthetic down... Didn't pay much attention to the title and was thinking "why does this look so much like Graceful Explosion Machine...?"
Oh, definitely interested in this.
I was just playing Graceful Explosion Machine recently and was wondering what the dev’s next project would be, and now here it is! Super excited for this!
I thoroughly enjoyed Graceful Explosion Machine and I like the visual style they've got going on here, but the gameplay looks extremely generic and the animations are VERY stiff looking. I'll have to wait and see how this one reviews, but so far it's looking like a pass.
GEM is one of my favourite Switch games so I'll definitely keep my eye on this.
I can't say I put more than an hour into GEM.
I really liked GEM and played it was my most played game on Switch before Splatoon 2 came out. S ranked every normal stage and most of the challenge stuff. Not sure how I feel about the same vector art style in a more complex looking game yet but I'm eager to see more.
In other breaking news, Redout is being released as an 8-bit point and click adventure/racer with rogue-lite elements a singular, back-to-basics chiptune song on an 8 second loop, which plays through races and menu selections.
cool. LOVE the title art!
Reminded me of Valis
Looks cool. Still play GEM from time time so will probably pick this up.
Graceful Explosion Machine was great, but this looks....cheap? Flash-gamey? The art-style clashes with the design of the main character.
Hopefully the visuals will undergo a rehaul by the time it launches.
@Stargazer
The game art looks dynamic, and sharp despite the simple color palette. In-game looks blurry, and as you said- like a flash game. If the in-game graphics were more crisp, and well-defined, I would be impressed. As it is... this is a big skip for me. Dead Cells scratches the colorful ultra-violence 2D brawlfest for me, and it is top notch in terms of design and execution.
GEM was a success because back then there's not much games on Switch. If it's launched today, it won't survived. This new game will be dead on arrival.
I love GEM but this looks average and doesn't seem exciting, could be in early stages of development though.
I like that brawler/shooter combo, reminds me of Shank... But it looks very flat.
Adorable! Going from Graceful Explosion Machine to this and beyond, I'd love to see them gradually work their way through every game genre in existence, continuing to treat them with this same color palette and flair.
FPS and Grand Strategy could use some fresh takes on the visual side.
