Switch 2 versions are ok, but I expected more from Nintendo so far with Switch 2, considering how long they had to prepare for it.

I will play this again at some stage. Great that they keep adding content.
Overall it’s a very good game. Certainly ambitious, which makes the games faults (major time sink, just shoot rocks) forgiveable.

I can only assume the battery life is terrible.

So it’s “Dr. Eggman” now?!

I ordered on LRG. I can only assume they will include the patch, given the estimated shipping date is January.

Nintendo seem to be really focusing on their “whale” customers these days, i.e. the small % who will buy literally everything the company sells.

€80 game key card

Will get the standard version. Once I receive it in a year or whatever, will put it in a cupboard and likely not play it. Might play it a further year or two later.

It’s strange to me that Nintendo releases this so soon after Mario Kart… then again, I guess I wasn’t paying much attention, because I thought this, MP4 and Eldin Ring would all be out already.

I have a feeling I should it at least one of these and that they will all go way up in price in future.

I won't buy game-cards and I also have no enthusiasm for Switch 2.
Why?

• more expensive games / everything, I can afford it, but they are simply not worth it, and I don't appreciate Nintendo trying to suck me dry from every angle
• I have enough games already, I am not in a rush to buy a Switch 2
• Nintendo will anyway release a superior Switch 2 lite / OLED / whatever in 2 years or so
• I have lost interest in most Nintendo games, as generally they are either too easy or in genres that just don't interest me, or in case of Mario Kart / Smash I have anyway played these so many times already. Most of the games I have for Switch are Indie games or non-AAA.
  So really, game-cards are just the tip of the iceberg for me. I have N64, GameCube, Wii, Wii-U, GBA, DS, 3DS, Switch, but I may be finished with Nintendo at this point.

Amazing game. I imagine online multiplayer is a mess though, based on what I saw of Goldeneye on Switch.
Would be great if Nintendo made a new F Zero with online up to 30 players!

How much will this cost?
I guess this will flop. It’s strange that this is one of the games Nintendo gave so much attention to in the direct. Honestly surprised this was even given the green light for development.

Thanks Nintendo, but let me know in a few years when you inevitably release a version with OLED, better battery and of course more games available. For now, I’ll stick to my Switch.

Have you played Nier Automata on Switch or elsewhere? What do you make of it?
I played it on Switch and was pretty underwhelmed. Stopped playing after less than an hour. Maybe I’ll go back to it, but I just wondered why the hype.

Without looking into the details, I assume you can / should disregard anything outside of “classic era”.

Sean Malstrom is suggesting MP 4 will be open world, as it’s the only thing that would make it this exciting and would explain why the game took 8 years to develop.
One can hope!

Nintendo Life trying to soften us up for an LCD screen?
It certainly would be a downgrade from OLED. No doubt Nintendo wants to keep the price down, but this might be too much. On the other hand, they can milk the cow again when the Switch 2 OLED comes out in 2 or 3 years.

It should take place only in the imagination of Miyamoto, right before he decides to approve the development of a new F Zero instead.

I’d be happy with a Bad Company 2 port, or one of the older Battlefields, on Switch 2.

I would like the following:

• remove most of the characters. I guess they need 24 characters if there are that many in a race, but I would be fine with 12 max. Sorry Toadette, you’re not needed!
• no customising wheels, chassis, gilder etc. Best would be all just go-karts, handling differently based on the character. Certainly no motor bikes.
• would be nice to have a single player that is challenging, exciting and replayable, rather than just something you do a few times to unlock stuff.

Previously Nintendo had really excellent build quality, but that’s not the case anymore. It won’t surprise me at all if the magnet approach causes problems.

Here is a top secret insider tip: just wait 2 or 3 years, Nintendo will release a better version aka DS-Lite, Switch OLED. Plus the games released in the interim will be cheaper then.

I'm sure his wife and children love to enjoy the collection too.

So many trash 3d Sonics. Would be nice for more classic 2d Sonics.

Oh well, maybe someday in 30 years I will fire up my Wii-U to play some Zombie-U.
Also, Ultratron is a great twin stick shooter that was on the E shop, that I guess is only available on Steam now.

Also, is Sony now going to do a mid-generation “pro” version every generation now? Maybe not if this one bombs.
As for Switch 2, I’m not excited. Reading that it might have an LCD screen even more so. Nintendo will certainly do a Switch 2 “SP/Lite/OLED” 2 or 3 years after the initial Switch 2 launch, so just wait for that.

I played Civ 6 on iPad and found it in many ways good, but the AI is terrible and ruined the game for me once I realised.
Also the harder difficulty settings buffing the AI units is very cheap and not a good way to add difficulty.

Sorry, but I just want a new Advance Wars, not any Fire Emblem.

The original Zelda was not linear, you could go in any direction and tackle the dungeons out of "order". If I'm not mistaken, Zelda II was similar in that regard.
Only with subsequent games was the linear structure introduced.

Giving me major Tunic vibes, but maybe that's just the graphics. Although the game looks interesting and in some ways potentially quite good, I do not have high hopes as (a) Nintendo generally doesn't make challenging games anymore and (b) I can imagine this will repeat many of the Zelda elements seen so many times already.

Looks nice, but also very similar to the first 3 games. And I'm not referring to the graphics, rather the gameplay. I hope there is something new gameplay wise, pushing things forward a bit. I love MP 1 and 2, not so much 3, so would not complain about more of the same, but if they don't push it forward somehow it will just not have the same impact.

@Pastellioli you'll forgive me as I haven't watched Sommer Game Fest at all, but how can you say Nintento Directs have a "lack of ads"? Aren't Directs one big ad?
