UPDATE 2:
Nintendo of America has confirmed this will be a launch game in North America, priced at $19.99 USD; there'll also be a free demo. Nintendo of America makes no mention, however, of any equivalent Joy-Con bundles like those coming to Europe.
UPDATE: The UK PR is in:
When it comes to solving puzzles, it's often said that two heads are better than one, and families and friends of all ages can put that to the test by giving Snipperclips - Cut it out, together! a go when it launches on Nintendo eShop for the brand new Nintendo Switch console on 3rd March 2017. A special limited bundle containing two additional Joy-Con controllers and a download code for the game will also become available at retail from 10th March.
Snipperclips arrives as a launch title for Nintendo Switch, the brand new console by Nintendo that transforms to suit players' situation, allowing them to enjoy their games anytime, anywhere, with anyone.
A breakout hit at Nintendo Switch hands-on events around the world, Snipperclips is a charming puzzle game that encourages players to communicate, cooperate and think creatively in order to overcome the various brain-teasing challenges on offer. When playing together, each player will hold their Joy-Con horizontally and cut each other's paper characters, Snip and Clip, into new shapes to solve all sorts of puzzling situations. Developed by London-based indie developer SFB Games in partnership with Nintendo, it requires up to four players to work together – or compete against each other – across three main game modes: think creatively to puzzle your way through a WORLD of fun (1-2 players, cooperative), invite more players to join and get a PARTY started (2-4 players, cooperative), or go up against each other in a frenetic, fast-paced BLITZ match (2-4 players, competitive).
Those looking to share the joy of puzzle-solving with additional friends or family members can check out the special limited Joy-Con bundle coming to retail on 10th March, which contains a set of two coloured Joy-Con (neon red/neon blue), along with a download code for Snipperclips. Players will surely soon discover that not just two, but three, or even four heads can be better than one!
Additionally, Nintendo Switch owners will be able to try out the game free of charge, as a downloadable demo version will be available on Nintendo eShop from 3rd March. How will your powers of cooperation and puzzle-solving shape up? Find out on 3rd March, when Snipperclips - Cut it out, together! launches on Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch for £17.99 / €19.99. A special limited bundle containing a pair of Joy-Con controllers and a download code for the game will be available from 10th March.
ORIGINAL STORY: Snipperclips will be available for the Nintendo Switch launch in Europe, it has been revealed. It will cost €19.99.
It has also been confirmed that a demo will also be available, and there's going to be a special bundle which includes a download code for the game and a pair of coloured Joy-Cons - that's a pretty sweet deal and a good incentive to buy some more controllers.
The source is a Dutch PR email from Nintendo itself, reported by our friend NintenDaan:
It has also been reported that the game has three main modes, "World" (1-2 players, co-op), "Party" (2-4 players, co-op) and "Bonus Game" (2-4 players, competitive).

This is definitely a Day One for me!
Fantastic news! I am sure this game will be a cut above the rest
Wow when are they going to release the bundle? We're only a week away til launch XD
Great news. Launch lineup is looking good to me!
Day 1 for me. I love it when I played it at the London preview event.
March 3rd keeps getting more expensive! (In a good way )
Where can we get the joy-con pack? And how much?
Great news. I plan on downloading Zelda and I was thinking how annoying it will be having nothing to do on my new console while it downloads. With my internet speed it'll take around 10 hours at least. Snipperclips is only around 1.5gb so I'll download that first to play while I wait on Zelda.
Looking forward to it
I have very little requirement for additional JoyCon so I don't need the bundle. But I'll be picking this up day one, most likely
No price for the bundle?
Day one for me, I've ordered a pair of extra joycons from Amazon, will the download code be with them or are they a set?
Damn you Nintendo!
Just take my wallet!
Seriously, I had my plans all set out, note the word had.
You're going to get me in serious trouble with my purchasing officer/wife!
Update: Too late!
Any more day 1 purchases and I might as well just deposit my wages into a direct Nintendo account for the next month!
What's that in £?
And can you get info on what those modes entail? How many levels?
Just to set expectations the joy cons in the bundle are the neon ones. Anyway, I'm very excited by this news and will be sure to pick this up at launch.
@Shugo I could bet that they can come with different colours. I do not see why not and Nintendo is very excited with the game. They would easily 'allow' that.
Relly want that special bundle!
Day one buy!
Bundle for sure! Sorry wallet of mine...
Nintendo really are winging it with the Switch. Snipperclips is a great little gem. But my God, do Nintendo have a clue what they're at? A week before the Switch launches, "Oh, ya, by the way Snipperclips will now be ready for launch and we've also made a Joy-con bundle". The fact the bundle's not ready until a week after launch just cements it.
That's likely to be 30 dollarydoos here. Can't say I'm happy with that price as I'd rather have been given the option to pay say, $50 for a retail version that isn't locked to the console.
Nevertheless, I hope the bundle comes to Australia. If the Joy-Cons are alternate coloured, then I might be tempted to bite. If they're in any of the currently available default colours, then I'll resist.
@Peace-Boy Apparently £17.99. Not an exact conversion, but that's what the pricing should be for UK, if we compare it to other titles priced the same
Ok so, revised day one : Neon Switch, Pro controller, Official Carry case , Zelda BOTW , Snipperclips, Fast RMX
Potential impulse purchases : Bomberman R, Shovel Night , I am Setsuna
Going have to cut down the restaurant visits this month
Wish I could trade my Grey Switch to the Neon one...
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!
just yes!
Sorry to be nervous but Gonintendo, Daan Koopman and Dutch Nintendo better be right about this or....there'll be words. Heh.
Still though, where is this Limited Edition version for purchase? We are a week from launch? Is it something that we're only going to be able to buy on Day One in-store?
The demo is a fantastic idea considering on how many people are the London Hands-On event were sold on it after 5 mins of playtime.
This has made this more tempting.
@sillygostly 'locked to the console'? What do you mean locked to the console? Downloaded games were confirmed to be linked to your Nintendo Account and not the console.
Will buy if there is a decent single player campaign.
@Oubie I preordered both because I couldn't decide at the time... cancelling the Grey order today
@Peace-Boy Games are locked to one console at a time. So while games are assigned to your Nintendo account. You can't have two Switch consoles logged into one Nintendo account and download the same game on both consoles.
@ROBLOGNICK Why would you have multiple consoles in the first place??? O.o o.O
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Or glass half full Nintendo are constantly surprising us with great announcements right up to the launch day.
@shinobi87 I need those colors in my life. Tired of my black Wii and black Wii U, although the grey Switch looks very mature and sleek, the neon colors are beautiful.
@BigBadJohn That's how I prefer to look at it.With Snipperclips now added to the Eshop along with FAST RMX and the new Shovel Knight DLC and possibly some more titles that will be revealed in the Nindie Presentation, day one is shaping up quite nicely.
Someone did a mock Switch bundle on Reddit that included Snipperclips coloured joy cons and they were absolutely beautiful. If the special edition bundle is coloured like them then I guess I have an expensive purchase to make at launch.
My guess is that we will get official confirmation in the Feb 28th stream.
It's cool. Especially the demo as it is closest thing to a pack in game. But I don't get the extra bundle ???? Isn't the whole point that the Switch itself comes with everything you need for party play ? And that it makes having to buy extra controllers a thing of the past ? I get there is a 4 player mode but it seems a small part of the experience. Seems it would be a better suit as an 'Arms' bundle as that requires 4 Joycons. With this aren't you going to open that pack download the game and then just put the extra controllers to one side. It's a cool promotion and I'm buying the game but just think it goes a bit against the messaging behind the device
@OorWullie I said to myself I'm only getting two games at launch because I don't want to overload myself. I'm currently up to five. Damn you Nintendo!
@Peace-Boy Some people do. For example., I believe PlayStation allows your downloads on a couple of console so if you have siblings with a PS Vita each, they can share an account.
My wallet is starting to hurt but the pain will be worth it.. need more details on the bundle..
@Kiz3000 It's just the neon coloured Joy-cons in the bundle. Some sites have i up for pre-order already.
https://www.proshop.de/Gaming-Zubehoer/Nintendo-Joy-Con-Controllers-Neon-Red-Neon-Blue-incl-Snipperclips-Gamepad-Nintendo-Switch/2583623
@samuelvictor I think the bundle costs around £5 more than the standard Joy-con set.Not too bad really.I can't see myself ever needing an extra set of Joy-cons.On the rare occasions I do play local multiplayer over here there's usually no more than 3 of us at a time..I'll be getting a Pro-controller for sure so when the occasion arises,at least I'll have 3 controllers. There will be plenty opportunities for larger sessions when I'm back visiting Scotland but I can't justify spending £80 so more of my mates can get a shot. They'll just need to watch us play or bring their own.
I so don't want this console.. But Zelda...
Honestly, this is getting out of hand for me. I am now at: Nintendo Switch, Pro Controller, extra Joy-Con Set, Travel Case, Breath of the Wild, Super Bomberman R, 1-2 Switch, Snipperclips, I Am Setsuna, Fast RMX.
I don't think I've ever gone this all out on a console launch....
This looks lovely and the price seems just right, but I'm afraid I can't justify getting it unless they confirm a robust single-player mode. Multiplayer-only games are absolutely not for me.
This too!? Sigh ... my poor wallet! There I thought I was clever by paying for all the extra stuff like games in advance and now I'm literally flooded with launch titles. Honestly, I have no right to complain. These are tears of joy.
Are they just normal joy cons? or are the the colours of the characters?
Will still get the demo to see if the wife would like it.
After Update: Oh only pink and blue? Already got the console with them.
@BigBadJohn It's great that it's there but they're making stuff up as they're going along. That's not the way to do business.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Either that or a pre-planned strategy in order to keep people talking about the Switch right up to launch.
Great news!
Just seen the box art for the combo pack and it looks like it is been sold as a "get Snipperclips for free" with the 2 joy cons. That is just my assertion anyway. It isn't displayed as this pack comes with 2 controllers and the game. It is just a normal joycon box with a small bit or art at the bottom saying "also includes SnipperClips" gives me the impression it is being sold as joycons with game rather then each of the items being weighted evenly in the set......if that makes sense
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-02-24-snipperclips-is-now-a-nintendo-switch-launch-title
This is my launch title, as I'm not a Zelda fan. Strange that the bundle is a week later in the UK? I'll just order from Amazon.de
@SLIGEACH_EIRE There's not only 1 way to do business really. Criticism is great but their strategy is theirs to make, we as consumers can like it and praise it or dislike it and critisize it, but there's isn't just 1 way to do business. At the end, we are talking about it and discussing it, that's ultimately free publicity for Nintendo.
This leaves me in a quandary. I wasn't going to get an extra set of joycons till Arms came out but if they are chucking snipperclips in for free or maybe a fiver extra then I can certainly see the value but then I want snipperclips for Day One and the bundle doesn't come out till a week later. First world problems!
@gingerbeardman Quick question buddy. When ordering from Amazon.de do you pay anything extra for postage or anything? I've just been on there website and everything seems cheaper than Amazon U.K.
image post
@samuelvictor I think your right or I hope your right about the limited time this comes free with joycons.
I can't find the price nowhere but can find joycons on its own.
super annoying as ive already pre ordered a extra set of Joy cons! Might have to cancel it and play the waiting game!
Nice, I can make do with the demo version for a week then get the joy con bundle.
What colour is the Joy-Con pair? It doesn't say anywhere.
This is great news! Snipperclips looks like an excellent wee game and hopefully shows off the capabilities of the Switch well! Definitely going to hold out for the Joy-Con bundle as it seems like the best deal, kinda reminds me of Wii Play and how that was a good deal for getting an extra Wiimote.
I might get the bundle depending on pricing. The Zelda Switch bundles I've seen have actually been 1 penny more expensive than buying separately. Not much difference, but I don't like to feel duped as a consumer when bundles usually indicate a better deal.
Did anyone notice that Has Been Heroes isn't launch day any more?
Nope, because We all want Snipperclips instead!
@MrGawain I don't think they ever said March 3rd for Has-Been Heroes
Enticing price for a great looking game.
Im interested in the bundle if the game is basically free
@gingerbeardman Can you provide a link to it on amazon.de? I can't seem to find it
Great news! I really want this game so i'll be buying it from the eShop but If I had the patience I would wait for the joy-con bundle. Oh well.....
What about North America ??
I've been overlooking this game. I don't know why Nintendo doesn't advertise it more.
I'll give this a miss though since I don't have anyone nearby to play with.
@Kiz3000 it's not listed yet, but as soon as it is I will buy from amazon.de
@BigBadJohn they have the same sort of free shipping over certain amount. log in with your regular amazon details. add items to you cart, select address, checkout. all exactly the same but a different stock list.
Long as the joy con package is a reasonable price then I can see it doing well like Wii Play did.
I wish this game was coming with the Joycons on the day of launch.
Also is it download only?
This game will go on my reserve list if Zelda and or Bomberman don't arrive on time.
Bring on Tuesday! The Nindies presentation will be make or break for Switch at launch as BotW isn't a good enough reason for day 1 Switch.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE I'll 2nd the "winging it". The fact that this will only become available starting March 10, a week after launch, would imply or suggest they already sent out a weeks worth of Joycon bundles before they decided to put the code in the box. So maybe winging it is too strong, but the facts make me think "last minute decision" anyway.
I do think the BotW expansion pass was winging it. There's a bunch of stuff in there, but it looks more like a compilation of pre-order bonus, updates, and story DLC pack than what most people would consider a season pass. They couldn't even figure out a way to breAK it up into 2 separate DLC packs to justify a bonus. The bonus is a bonus for nothing, it's just part of the pack. Made me realize Nintendo is still fairly new to the DLC world, Splatoon and SMM were all free updates, Pikmin 3, MK8 and SSB were almost all paid. Nintendo has learned how to mix and match quite yet. So not quite knowing what to do they just threw all that stuff together and called it a pass. Announced 2 weeks before launch. For a game due out in 2015. With 5 amiibo we still aren't sure what they do yet. They probably should have unlocked most of what's in the pass. And maybe they were supposed to way back when BotW was a Wii U exclusive, but now they are just winging it.
@Grumblevolcano "BotW isn't a good enough reason for day 1 Switch."
I got an email from Gamefly this morning, it's a game rental service FYI, promoting all of the Switch games they will be carrying at launch. It's a whole page full of games. When I got down to the bottom I saw Mario Odyssey and knew that wasn't a launch game. So I started looking at the dates underneath each game. Had to go all the way up, only the first 4 are launch games. Four. They delayed the system until March to have 4 games ready? (Note - they don't have Skylanders probably due to the toys so 5.)
https://www.gamefly.com/#!/games/switch/comingsoon?cid=switchNM
I can't recall exactly the Wii U launch but it felt like a lot more games were coming, if not at launch soon thereafter. NSMBU, Batman, Mass Effect, Darksiders 2, CoD, Madden, FIFA, Assassin's Creed 3.
Not sure how accurate this list is, but even half of it would quadruple Switch.
[url=http://www.ign.com/wikis/wii-u/Wii_U_Launch_Games_(US)[/url]
Switch has nothing by comparison, just a Wii U port of Zelda. And FIFA and Skyrim later in the year. It's a really good thing Zelda was ready, b/c that's all Switch has now.
Now I'm not condemning Switch, I'm expecting a great E3 and things to look good this holiday, but Wii U was so much better at launch, and it could play Wii games.
If this is true I will get this one also.
Exciting news. Can't wait to play this game.
@Bunkerneath correction: with the consoles come left blue and right red. These JoyCons are left red and right blue so you'll have a complete set of red and blue JoyCons. I'm very tempted by this. Love the look of the Switch with two red JCs
@rjejr I don't think they're winging it. More like they've reacted to customer demand/preorders and have created this promo to push more JoyCons. It's a good promo in my opinion and I'll probably jump onboard. Let's not knock it. More promos the better!
How much is the UK joy con package then?
I have a joy con pair on order and want this game too. Want to know what my saving will be before I cancel my joy con order.
Well awesome! Can't wait to play this at launch then!
I was gonna download this day 1, but now I'm curious about the joy-con bundle, especially what it's pricing will be compared to the download + joy-cons normally.
LOL! I read the update where it said "the UK PR came in", and I immediately thought to myself "What PR?", coz, y kno, UK PR for the Switch is, y kno, non-existant.
For those interested, ShopTo are taking preorders for the bundle at £84.85 a pop.
Great move to include the download with Joy-Cons, but would be better if it was launch day not a week behind. No word on price for the bundle it seems...hopefully the same price as regular Joy-Cons because they're already damn expensive!
@Peace-Boy I plan on buying multiple Switch consoles so that my wife and I can play Splatoon 2 together
@leo13 That's different. That's one Switch for you and 1 for your wife. I was referring to multiple Switches owned by one single person.
@Peace-Boy except within that context. If they allowed us to log into both Switch consoles with the same log in then we wouldn't have to buy games twice. I didn't buy Smash Bros 3DS or Federation Force because I wasn't willing to buy 2 or 3 copies and I own 3 3DS units. If I could have purchased it once and installed it on all my 3DS units I would have bought both of those games along with TriForce Heroes and Mario Kart 7 and several other games like that tank game that just came out
@leo13 Heh, would've been nice if they came out with that app for Mario Party Star Rush for other games a lot sooner. You can get full multiplayer with it on one game card.
@Peace-Boy they could have been doing it for all their games for a long time now, but for some reason they never wanted to.
That concept almost got me to but Star Rush even though I don't enjoy Mario Party
The good news: march third got cheaper. Snipperclips gets physical.
The bad: march tenth got a lot more expensive.
@beazlen1 Ah makes sense, OK this makes a high probability of me getting this now, double reds or blue is very appealing. But two joy cons cost £ 70, actually don't know if its worth it, will have to see how I go with the demo
@BigBadJohn also try www.curiua.com to compare Amazon prices across their European stores. Great savings to be had!
