Well, as it's February it's time to shoehorn in references to Valentine's Day, the season of love, tacky cards and over-priced chocolates. Maybe just focus on the first thing there and forget the Hallmark nonsense, we'd suggest.
As it's also the start of the month it's time for new My Nintendo rewards, with Nintendo of America apparently pitching it as a chance to "redeem your points and spend Valentine's Day with characters you love." Uh-huh...
Let's just get on with it, shall we?

- Paper Mario - 30% discount for 30 Gold Points
- Rhythm Heaven Megamix - 30% discount for 80 Gold Points

Still nothing worth getting. Are they ever going to put games up again?
As i said some days ago: i think they're keeping hidden the bigger shots for Switch. I think with new system My Nintendo will start to get more serious things, at least i hope so
All discounts no games. People love to complain about Club Nintendo's final years, but at least it was better than this disappointment.
What is love? My Nintendo...don't hurt me...don't hurt me...no more....
i need some 3ds eshop exclusive discounts
I noticed the EU ones earlier. Disappointing springs to mind...
Just when I thought the My Nintendo rewards couldn't get any worse...
I'm actually gonna get that Megamix and Chibi Robo. Sitting on coins and $40 for two great games. I ain't complaining.
I have little-to-no faith that the service will become good with the release of the Switch. I can't imagine them giving discounts on brand new games, so we probably won't even see Switch mentioned on My Nintendo for quite some time...
So excited for all those 30% discounts!!!!!! Nintendo please stop
WTF are there no actual games as rewards?
UGH! If Wii U is dead then they might as well have a free for all with the discounts, I mean REALLY Nintendo, REALLY!!!!
The only thing good about the new Chibo Robo game was the Amiibo though.
Expected some Valentine sweet but all I see are cold hard coupon. Tanks ninty.
I have been tempted to get tipping stars for a while so I may take advantage of that. All the rest that would have appealed do me I've picked up already.
Lol. "Try"
My Nintendo? Love? Does not compute.
My Nintendo. LOL
What a load of ****
Isn't Gunvolt's discount like the first time its offered more than 30%? They should have offered the sequel as I'm sure everyone who wnted the original already has it.
I'm holding out hope that My Nintendo will pick up after the Switch's release or the advent of the new online service. But seriously Nintendo, its a freakin embarassment in its current state. Even the staff on this site seem to write every new My Nintendo update with a level of exhaustion and dread.
At the very least offer us eShop credit instead or something in exchange for coins!
Too much points and nothing to spend it on.
I also got a lot of points from playing super Mario run but what do you redeem with that. All I can see is money and toad rally tickets but they give you like 50 free everyday
Is this one of those, "It's the thought that counts" moments?
Bleh, still terrible offerings. Own 3 out of 4 of the EU offerings, and couldn't care less for Mutant Mudds (Sorry, just didn't enjoy the demo very much).
My gold coins look shiny at least...
Everytime I want to get a game off here it's always 20%. Might bite for Mario VS. Donkey Kong!
@MS7000 well enjoy it while it's shiny as they'll disappear soon
Sucks
Year anniversary soon. So maybe we'll get.....a 35% discount? gasp
The concept that you have to pay in the first place for holiday sales is comical.
Pay $80 for 30% off a $30 game Seems legit to me.
Yay more mediocre discounts
@UK-Nintendo Ehh, Nintendo have still got about just under 9 months before they take my 6 golden coins away from me. I only started earning them a few months ago...
Damn I was excited for a Paper Mario discount but it's not for Europe :/
Still don't see how this can improve with the Switch.
Okay games in North America. Have all the ones I want already.
@MS7000 that how I felt but Nintendo will take my 80 gold coins in April the. Another 20 in June. I really really hope I can spend it by then.
Good luck trying to spend yours
@UK-Nintendo Thanks, feels like I'll need it. Have fun trying to find a use for yours.
I just ... whoever manages My Nintendo ... resign.
I'm hoping very much there's gonna be a new Rhythm Heaven game for the Switch. My, oh my!
It'll be nice if u can use those points on the new VC online games. That'd make so much sense to the extent that I doubt Nintendo has even considered it...
nothing for me...
Stopped caring for My Nintendo a long time ago...and the worst holiday ever or whatever isn't gonna change that.
@UNSOLUTEDSALT You can literally get Chi Robo on Amazon for $7.45 right now. I wouldn't even bother wasting the coins...
I keep thinking I'll give it the benefit of the doubt but, MyNintendo is straight trash compared to Club Nintendo. No games ever, nothing worth really even getting the discounts for. C'mon Nintendo, this is really disappointing.
who wants to be my valentine? hit that sexy heart below.
I might get Game & Wario, otherwise this selection is another disappointment.
Very sad that they no longer seem to be willing to offer actual games and dlc as rewards anymore. It's not like they even offered you that much in the first place. I really don't have that much hope of this service getting better post Switch launch.
What will most likely happen is that Nintendo will spout some BS about offering great value to the player while in reality, they're too stingy to even offer roms of 20+ year old games for free to the people that actually bother buying things from them
I really don't see the reason in rotating the rewards for gold coins. It makes sense for platinum coins, since you get those for free.
The North America discounts are great. Regarding the European discounts, it's a case of not having anything nice to say.
Literally the only way to expend Gold Points, the ones that cost actual money, is to purchase discounts which require you to purchase games, giving you even more Gold Points...
When do we start the email campaign?
These "rewards" are skid marks of Stay Classy proportion.
What's up with Europe getting worse and less discounts again?
Fools! That Paper Mario discount should've gone to Color Splash. They have to put newer titles on discount, not these really weak discounts for old games.
lol, these "discounts" are really out of touch, but they also need to check the secondary market! Some of these games are already way below these pithy percentages in price.
I was thinking about Gunvolt today...
> "Characters you love"
> Sees Chibi-Robo
> Remembers they'll never make another game as they sold poorly
> Cries
Ugh, I have tons of Gold and Silver coins that will start to slowly expire next month...
These rewards are so bad it's almost pointless. Small discounts on a small selection of games...many of which I already own. (and I suspect most loyal Nintendo customers do as well)
They need to expand the scope of the discounts, add a lot more products, or give more free stuff for your coins.
@UNSOLUTEDSALT In North America Zip Lash is only $7.45 new on Amazon with Prime shipping. I'd advise looking into that to get a physical copy for cheaper, unless you're an all-digital person anyway.
@Paddle1 I think it will. With Wii U and 3DS it feels like MyNintendo is a bit of a halfway house. I think Switch should unify this and make the discount available to those who have purchased physical copies, too
@MarioPhD I'd advise not buying it at all... it's terrible!
Where is the love?
@Tyranexx Brilliant! Though there should be one more "don't hurt me".
Actually tempted by Megamix and Tipping Stars, since I don't have either yet. I'm not sure if I want to blow all of my gold coins right before the Switch launch, though.
Decisions, decisions...
Reggie says they listen to feedback. Then WTF are you doing with My Nintendo? Do you hate us?
I wish Nintendo understood that those who want these games generally have them. It's not like their platforms have been overwhelming with releases. I'd prefer some new 3DS themes or something over this.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE: Thanks! That comment was hastily typed while at work, but I finally got a chance to edit it. The post should be accurate now.
At this point, I would trade 1000 platinum coins for 5 cents Canadian. I just want something that is actually useful to spend platinum coins on besides worthless digital discounts for games I can find cheaper physical.
BAAAH, I seriously just bought Rhythm Heaven a couple weeks ago.
I just missed club Nintendo so much. Managing my Nintendo feels like a job not a benefit.
I miss the cool game merch and actual full games. This My Nintendo discount stuff is poop. I can't even be bothered with it anymore.
Possibly MegaMix, but waiting to see what the Switch future holds.
..gee, thanks, happy valentines..here you go..

I dunno, I might upgrade Paper Mario to WU; honestly, it depends on the math results of the percentage off + upgrade discount(if those 2 can be applied together). Club Nintendo outclasses My Nintendo, because the only anything on My Nintendo is discounts; I know they don't have to do/give anything, for customer loyalty, but this is not enticing me to purchase Nintendo products. Maybe, that's it; maybe they(Nintendo) believe they can get away with having poor loyalty programs, due to not needing to entice people to purchase Nintendo software, b/c they perhaps believe the software sells itself, or they're banking on the Nintendo branding being a "hot" item.
Meh. The 3DS is done for me, pretty much.
Maybe it's just because Club Nintendo used to be so generous, but this is just disappointing. Discounts, really? They're never nearly as good as the usual sale discounts anyways...
this months full of no spending again, was expecting better games, at this point I'd rather take gold for 30% off anything, plat up to 20% off that's been on the market for 5 months or longer, it seams this month might be my worst month in a long time. at least EU had Zelda last month for discounts. Also maybe replacement for Reggie would be nice or do a real switch bundle with a game announcement. also dieing to see how fe goes for my nintendo for fe heroes on Mobile within 24 hours
Maybe they will do something decent in March with the Switch, but I won't get my hopes up.
Mutant Mudds sounds ok. Oh, an I realized they've taken down Wario from DS, the only VC DS game for 3DS. Glad I took it before Zelda Picross!
@DiscoGentleman It's more kind of hope than anything else. By the way i was thinking also at the "Exclusive deals" in the online features page of Nintendo Switch site for example. Maybe they are My Nintendo related, who knows. I repeat, maybe it's hope that is speaking, but we all know that My Nintendo did not what we all were expecting...
Once Again, My Nintendo a poor poor excuse for Club Nintendo
Mmmmm Mutant Mudds Super Challenge is £8.99 and Cross Buy so 30% off makes it £6.29 only 40 levels though compared to the originals 80.
Boy, howdy, how I LOVE earned sales.
Well at least USA got much better offers tan Europe. I guess Nintendo loves NA and hates Europe. Well it is indeed truth that Europe got smaller userbase than the states.
Darn, all the NA rewards apply to games I already own.
Wish NA got Rhythm Heaven Fever for a reward as well. It would give me the extra incentive to double dip.
still no exclusive games?
I love Nintendo and all, but My Nintendo is total garbage. It has always been garbage and they need to do better.
'Tries'
All of these rewards are for games I already have or for games I couldn't care less for.
Awful.
IT'S ONLY STUPID DISCOUNTS.
Man, Club Nintendo was so much cooler than this garbage.
Interesting rewards. Is the whole program even worth it? Check this post out, food for thought.
