15 of the top 20 are Nintendo titles. Incredible.
I figured sales numbers would be higher than this even with it being golden week last week.
Now he's the Kong of the jumpers, oh
The console VIP
He reached the top and had to stop
But that ain't bothering him
PS4 is still moving consoles well but apparently not software? Nintendo is utterly dominating that top 20 list. 13 of them being Switch and the other 2, Pokemon and Animal Crossing...
And PLEASE Nintendo - New Leaf is like 6 years old now. You can see Animal Crossing is ever green! Give us Animal Crossing Switch!
Gosh... !
Toy Cons 01 once again dominating Japan !!
(Prrrrrt.... Sorry Labo haters 😝 )
1-2-Switch back on Top 20 again ??
Haaaa....
@NintendoFan4Lyf Japan aren't. NL are. It gives a better perspective as its basically the same console right.
Anyway, great to see Japan lapping up all these Switch games!
Great game.
@Heavyarms55
Animal Crossing Switch with proper gameplay = 10 years Forever Green sales.
I wish they gave Returns the HD treatment and included it in the collection. That would’ve been amazing. Great game, though, regardless, even if the price point is ridiculous.
Monster Hunter World has vanished?
Damn Nintendo is ripping Japan apart. Donkey Kong has 88000 sold already in the first week while GoW is only at 92000 in 3 1/2 weeks? wtf is happening lol
88k is not to be sniffed at,I'm sure Nintendo will be very happy with that number.
As for the rest of the chart it looks like Nintendo are as strong as they've ever been in their homeland.
How is no one talking about Monster Hunter World just disappearing?
Wii U ports don’t sell. Waste of time. Everyone’s already played them. Nintendoom and Nintengloom
@WiltonRoots
"Monster Hunter World has vanished?"
RIP PS4 era.
I need to pick up some eshop cards. Still gotta get SD gundam.
What a surprise
Labo gains strength...this sales story is far from over folks.
As for those who said DKC was too high priced, I’d say to weigh that versus the quality of the game & system it’s now being offered on. The Wii U isn’t the Switch.
Launch sales comparison:
[NSW] Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze: 88.421
[WIIU] Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze: 35.717 (LTD sales: <130,000)
Massive jump in sales for Donkey Kong. This is the first Switch port to outsell its original counterpart at launch, and by a huge margin too.
If Labo gains enough ground they should consider porting Wii Sports as a collection and re-advertise 1-2 Switch at its peak. Easy ports and you literally garner the casual market back for the most part.
Who doesn't like enough free money for Wave Race?
@Anti-Matter
The nintendo era in my country is over for at least 5 years man, high taxes and some other things made them quit our market completelly.
But Nintendo should still stop releasing Wii U ports on account of the following facts:
A) I have absolutely zero business sense
B) I believe that the amount of time it takes to port a finished game over is equal to that needed to develop an original title. In other words, by halting Wii U ports, brand new games will magically appear.
C) Old games are dated and bad
So stop it, Nintendo.
Also, give us Virtual Console now.
(For the avoidance of doubt, I would like some sort of system which basically achieves the same result as the Virtual Console, and I hope we get some more exciting original titles announced soon. I just don't think axing Wii U ports will really help achieve either of these things)
@MsJubilee It's fallen out of the top 20. In fact to use a trollish term, it's "fallen off a cliff".
Can't help but wonder if Labo's going to be a creeper in the Japanese charts as well, it's already stuffing God of War over there. Also will Zelda hit 1m in Japan before E3?
@Maxz absolutely right. Also Japan doesn't count.
@WiltonRoots Yes, Japan doesn't count. Japan could disappear from the face of the Earth and Nintendo would be in no way adversely affected.
@Maxz Yep their market is no more important than Lithuania.
It's funny watching all our resident experts raising their opinions about wii u ports and what will sell and what won't sell, and time after time they get proven wrong. We should take out wagers with these people.
@Maxz
Didn't you know? Retro has spent the last 4 years porting Tropical Freeze to the Switch. They were too funky to work on anything else
@Ooyah japan loves their portables for sure
Nintendo certainly look very strong over in Japan
@westman98 I liked the rumour they were behind Labo. I'm sure people drop speculation like that because they know gamers get rattled so easily.
@WiltonRoots
wut
People thought Retro was working on Labo??
Retro working on nothing but the Tropical Freeze Switch port for the last 4 years is more believable than them working on Labo...
If you include digital sales, Kirby Star Allies has sold over 500,000 copies in Japan. It should outsell Kirby Planet Robobot within the next 4-5 weeks, and is well on its way to becoming a million-seller by the end of the year.
