I hope companies like Slitherine & Paradox will consider to release some nice 4x titles on Switch. Also Civ6, Total War, Anno & other AAA strategies are welcome too. Out of all current consoles Switch is best suited for RTS/TBS, with its touch controls while portable & pseudo-wiimote in a stationary mode. C'mon strategy devs give NSW some love.
@infernogott Thanks for the response, maybe sometime later this will be added by a firmware update, I'm pretty sure that only a little effort needed to make it work by a button remapping or adding a device ID.
Nice, definitely will try this setup after a western release. Also curious if wiimote + wii taiko drum connected through 8bitdo / mayflash adapter will work too.
And where's Etrian Odyssey III Untold for 3DS? It wasn't released in EU on DS so it would be a nice move to complete the series at least on 3DS. Or a collection of all titles for Switch, I to X.
A current Switch's library, 95% of which consists of Wii U ports & indies, is pretty lame, its start was great but didn't hold for par for the current year. If it wouldn't change soon the situation of Wii U may repeat (or may not due to hype).
Looks to simplistic for my taste, I want RTS for people who have time to play, like Total War series. Of course it's not so good on Switch as it would be on Wii U which always offers touch controls, but a portable mode is what nicely fits for a strategic gameplay IMO. Also welcome any decent 4X e.g. Civilization or Europa Universalis.
Nice move, finally this weird & fun title again will be accessible for western gamers. As for me I've played enough of this series on Wii & Wii U and wouldn't buy another pair of controllers, my shelfs are full of drums already - Taiko, DK bongos & GH stand with cymbals. Would be cool if you can reuse those old ones from Wii era.
I found this game too overrated. It have charm visuals & intriguing story but pretty soon gets too bland & repetitive, don't stand on par of truly classic titles.
The next step is to make a physical release which contains only a dummy cartridge with activation code in it, but you can't play without this cart inserted too.
@gauthieryannick, in most cases I do, but for this title I made an assumption on my previous experience of good old RARE's games. For sure it's my mistake, should never ever trust even credible developers.
Not the best summer ever but some titles are tempting, Xeno 2 DLC for sure, also Valkyria Chronicles 4. Wasn't impressed by the Octopath's demo so will wait for some reviews.
Never bought & never will buy any title with a microtransactions. That said my last FIFA was '98 Road to World Cup on PS1 & despite of some interest to this series I wouldn't get it while it have those money milking mechanics.
For me this game still is underdeveloped, especially for this price. It came not too far from its predecessor on Wii U, will wait for a >50% discount before even considering to buy it.
Still prefer the Wii U version, it's asymmetric gameplay is so awesome, when one plays on GamePad screen and another on TV, completed all difficulties with my wife. Wish all those additional maps to have a co-op, also I really would prefer to have FE Warriors on Wii U, split-screen is not so good, we've dropped this game for now on Switch.
I wish the Persona series eventually come to Switch, it's already have a decent fanbase on Nintendo consoles with all those SMTs, Persona Q & Tokyo Mirage Sessions, c'mon, only a little step left, Atlus.
It's a fair score for all those inexhaustible ports from Wii U which already were here for 5+ years & still available at cheaper prices, especially on a flea market. Can't wait this flow to end so I can get truly new titles like Mario Kart 9 or next DK.
The only LEGO game I like is City Undercover & the best version is on Wii U because of an awesome GamePad usage. All others mainline titles are mediocre at best, gameplay is too dull to hold my attention.
So toxic community, this hacker is intentionally put his console to a limit, investigating internals & playing on his own rules. I doubt he is in sorrow, more like is happy to find another wall which can be avoided later.
Have a couple of drums for Wii/Wii U, too bad they're not compatible with Switch, not gonna buy new ones as Taiko changes are neglecting for another pair of not so small & also useless elsewhere controllers.
I'm looking forward for a homebrew, it'll offer same or better features:
RetroArch for VC not limited by 20 games and / or one platform.
Dolphin for GC titles.
Savegame manager to backup & restore on-premise.
Some other homebrews & even boot to Linux where you'll have all its apps, like a browser or video player.
In an observable future make backups of your physical titles & run them out of mSD.
Also a piracy if you don't mind it & looking for discounts up to 100%
The only missing point is online, but behind a paywall it's looking not so great, i think i easily can live without Splatoon 2 & i can't care less for any other online title on Switch up to date.
Despite of a price i still not justified this subscription for myself, the only online game on Switch to date i care of is Splatoon 2 while all other bells & whistles aren't so compelling to me. I'll buy for a first year but as soon as splatfests will over it's seems too useless for me.
@electrolite77 Do Bethesda force anyone to buy Skyrim? Does it milking by re-release it again, and again, and again? On every single possible platform starting from PC & up to a microwave oven.
@nhSnork
IIRC virtual console always been a place for cheap old titles released before on old consoles for those nostalgia driven gamers. I even bought Earthbound Beginnings on Wii U as it was a first time's official translation. But it wasn't 60 USD DKCR for sure, more likely few bucks & couple golden coins for a discount.
@nhSnork My point is developers have to stop milking gamers. If it's not a decent remake with new features and / or graphics - GTFO. Some great titles which I bought instantly are Metroid: Samus Returns & Wind Waker HD, those surely deserves a double dip. But if I want to play an old title I use an original console or even an emulator, not buy an overpriced lazy port. I personally use new consoles for a new experience. So I gladly purchase & play Wonderful 102, Bayonetta 3, Mario Kart 9, Smash 5 etc. on my Switch but not a previously available titles with no or little changes to them.
I won't support it, Switch must get new titles not ports of a platform which is still in shops. Yes, not everyone bought Wii U & want to, but same can be told about GameCube, N64 & many other consoles. Especially silly to port titles which use a Wii U's asymmetric gameplay feature or strongly depend on a touch input.
That what do countries who are opposed to a so called 'democracy', look at Iraq which didn't block anything & compare to China who have the Great Wall firewall. I'm okay with such circumstances, lack of online gaming is a minor issue to a country wealth.
Sad to see that Shenmue 1&2 HD isn't coming to Switch as well as the 3rd entry, maybe it's due to failed sales of Yakuza 1&2 HD on Wii U in Japan but I think at least the 1&2 title is best suited to a portable platform due to it's grindy nature. Would love to see Yakuza series on Switch too.
It's good to have more titles on Switch but this series always been mediocre so 6 is a fair score for me. Xenoblade 2 is awesome jrpg which all genre' fans have to play instead.
@Aven Glad to see some love for Disgaea 5 here, this title is a Switch' hidden gem no one cares of. Best TRPG on platform so far, tons of in-game content, fun story, great music & adorable Prinnies, dood.
It's seems to be a convenient way to use old but still awesome Wii Fightsticks by Mad Catz on Switch, can't wait to test it. If it'll work I'm saved from buying those overpriced Hori controllers for fighting titles.
Finally a decent icon for a main menu? Actually this game is fun & i enjoyed this thrilling feeling when you're hanging over a pit trying to embrace a rotating trunk by your armless body.

Re: Here's Your First Look At Yooka-Laylee's Demastered Nintendo 64 Mode
