All but NES and Switch consoles have had counterpart platforms in the same generation, to represent both home and portable systems. So it would be fairer if we count sales of both devices in appropriate gen, like SNES + GameBoy, N64 + GBC, Gamecube + GBA, Wii + DS, and Wii U + 3DS. For NES and Switch, Nintendo doesn't spread its resources and put all efforts into a single system.

Re: Poll: What Other Wii U Games Do You Want To See On Switch?

oji

None, I want new games: new IPs and sequels like Xenoblade Chronicles X-2, Super Luigi 3D World or Wonderful 102. If I want to replay an older title, there's an eBay where I can buy Wii U and some great titles for a low price. And I enjoy to play them in asymmetric TV+Gamepad mode as they initially intended.

I'm ended up with those sibling Musou games. The last one I enjoyed was Hyrule Warriors on Wii U in asymmetric co-op (one player on TV and another on GamePad screen). I dropped Fire Emblem Warriors after a couple of hours, not satisfying anymore. If you played any Warriors game - you played them all, reskin doesn't change much. I'll wait for SMTV and keep fingers crossed for the true P5 port.

Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Action-RPGs

@BlueBlur101, ATB have two modes: active (simultaneous actions) and wait (pauses enemies when you're browsing attacks, magic, summons, items, but not when you're on the list of commands). My life will never be the same again in the world, where Xenoblade and Final Fantasy are aRPGs.

Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Action-RPGs

@BlueBlur101, so other FF games with ATB combat system (almost all of them) are aRPGs too? In Xenoblade, you don't smash buttons, but instead, wait for your turn to refill and choose some action. Same system as ATB.

Re: Talking Point: We're Actually Quite Looking Forward To Brain Training On Switch

There's the interesting study on this game series:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3566110

"The most important findings of this study were that playing the commercial brain training game (Brain Age) significantly improved executive functions, working memory, and processing speed compared to playing the non-brain training game (Tetris) in young adults. The present results demonstrated the beneficial transfer effects of the commercial brain training game on widely various cognitive functions in young adults. Moreover, these results showed that playing Tetris can engender improvement attention and visuo-spatial ability compared to playing Brain Age. These findings are consistent with previous evidence showing that playing video games can engender improvement in untrained cognitive functions."
