Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Reveals New Distribution

msvt

@Jeronan I hope they are great. I'm not planning the expense into S2 but a really incredible Pokemon could sure tilt in that direction. I'd expect it next year too. With maybe a remake of something by Spring '26 or even before.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Gets A 6-Minute Overview Trailer For Switch 2

msvt

I really like even current Pokemon games but I went into this video interested but I figure if I am too bored to even watch this short clip, I guess I have lost interest in the game altogether. Still have Violet DLC to get through and Arceus for a second playthrough will cover me for this gen since I'm sticking with S1.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Reveals New Distribution

msvt

Since first day of pre-order had this ordered - now, canceled pre-order, will buy Switch 1 version used, or not at all...

I was hoping for ....something... for this game to be better. The setting in Pokemon regeons, the vive is my favorite parts of thee games. But this one? ...I ..... I just.... can't.

They should go back to the top down but updated and go nuts on the look and feel of these games. Old style with modern tech. Maybe even 2d-hd style.

I loved Violet so I am no Poke-snob, but this game... what an increasing letdown as more gets shown. I'm going back to the DS games this fall to fill in some games I never had time for, instead of playing this while it is hot.

Re: Nintendo Says "Nothing Bad" Will Happen If You Press Switch 2's C Button Without A NSO Sub

msvt

What a joke this has become.

Not just that overhyped and unwanted C button fiasco, but what has happened with this company, post-Iwata, etc.

I was one click away from an accidental subscription without knowing it, and I am fairly perceptive. I won't pay for it and do not want the NSO service. The trials are more than enough for me to take a different type of play for a week or so. Otherwise I have the NSO games over and over on multiple devices, some bought but now headed heavily into emulation as well.

Re: Video: Street Fighter 6 Side-By-Side Comparison (Switch 2 & PlayStation 5)

msvt

Cecember 2023 I bought the Series X literally just to get this game (and others, but this was my push!)... Got my Series X on sale for $300 BEFORE the price increase. I regretted it, I don't ply Xbox much.... Now that Switch 2 has failed for me right out of the gate, I feel vindicated and happy to have the other option for this generation.

I have since enriched my Series X, not with Game Pass, but with the countless sales they have on past and recent games. Pretty fun and will spend this downfall of Nintendo period on Switch 1 backlog and Series X current and past gems at a reasonable hum-grade pricing system. Not what i wanted to do, but corporate greed will fin balance when we speak with our wallets.

All thanks to this great iconic fighting series!! I love Street Fighter.

Emulation on the Miyoo, Home Brew Wii and other devices has been a total blast too!

it is a slippery slope and a moving target. Spend well, and try to have some fun everyone.

Re: Opinion: Oh No, I'm Not A Fan Of Switch 2's Mouse Mode At All

msvt

My god what is happening with our beloved Nintendo??

They are falling apart at the seams...

Iwata's shadow looms large now that they had to make decisions without him. So incredibly evident now.

Golem's in suits are failing the thing we all are so connected to.

The mouse thing was stupid from the word go, I mean where am I going to tun this thing, one couch next to me? Dumb.

But with that said, the Game Key, unobtainable status of ALL the pricing (look closer) and the shakedown and misdirection approach will change the company forever in all the worst ways.
So, in that way "the mouse" fits perfect.

Re: "DROP THE PRICE!!!" Scream Nintendo Fans During Nintendo's Treehouse Live Broadcast

msvt

I m dropping the price on my own, but picking this as my stepping away from Nintendo this generation.

Wished I had skipped the Wii U too, and this is the Wii U all over again. And it a lot like the disaster of the 3DS launch, which thanks to the legendary Iwata, saved the entire company when he course corrected and took the blame for it all.

The mighty always get overconfident and they will be humbled yet again.

I'll be watching while I emulate, and share the games with my family and friends, and enjoy myself for practically free compared to this price gauging, or "class -shaming" new age of "nintendo".

Anyone that disagrees with this is not looking close enough to the entire pricing scam they have going on. It is like a mafia shakedown, not the inclusive ideals of their entire past history.

Re: Not Sold On Switch 2 Camera? HORI's Piranha Plant Model Might Change Your Mind

msvt

Weird that not many yet have mentioned how creepy it is for Nintendo to watching kids in their private spaces with these devices. I would never let a camera be anyone, much less a child in their bedroom doing something as personal as gamng.

I think this camera and chat thing is really going to cause some issues for this company that is just trying to shovel accessories out the door.

Re: "Don't Let Nintendo Ruin The Entire Industry" - Is $80 For Mario Kart World A Bridge Too Far?

msvt

Nintendo has excluded myself and many lifelong gamers with these new pricing scales.

Inflation and tariff is not the reason for this happening at this level.

I predict within two years (more like much less) either a 3DS style relaunch, or a "third pillar" type statement with a affordable reasonable everyday gamer that Nintendo has ALWAYS supported.

Right out the door, they will have cut that Switch install base down to a Wii to Wii U type of dive.

No way, ever, will S2 sell anywhere near the numbers Nintendo is used to with S1.

I am ok over this, I have backlog and emulation devices for years, but it still is very disappointing to be leaving current daily gaming news and all the new action behind for the first since the NES days when I jumped in. That will be the biggest change for me, to not be part of the new generation,

The Game Key thing is absolutely disgusting misdirection as well.

The C button chat, camera and all that is nonsense imo, so I won't miss out on any that.

Iwata is rolling over in his grave over how Nintendo has become an exclusive trophy item for rich kids. I say that this ideal will flop and be very humbling. I wonder if the new president will cut his own salary to take responsibility?
Hmm....

Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting

msvt

Yeah... I'm out, bye modern day Nintendo.

Emulation on affordable and reasonable devices will be fun in fact already.

Iwata must rolling over in his grave.

I bet within 2 years they may release a new THIRD PILLAR for regular people to be able to afford some gaming. Otherwise Nintendo will lose a huge share of its' appeal as a fun gaming system for everyone, and lose these customers to mobile and PC, I think.

I mean, 'maybe' the original Switch is that third pillar? Possibly with a price cut? Hmmm.

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct?

msvt

Couldn't vote..... But my opinion. Poor.
Not much for me and I am ok with that.

Way overpriced, all around and underwhelming. I do not care about the mouse gimmick, nor the games Nintendo showed. Air Ride? That will flop, against Mario Kart no less. The tech demo, and the wheelchair game? Hard pass.

DK looks cool but I can wait on that and pay much less used or on sale, if ever.

Happy for those that are thrilled.

Re: Nintendo Drops Teaser Video For The Switch 2's 'C' Button

msvt

I am pretty convinced it a Connect button to their Miiverse/Twitter like app and other connected uses (between Switches for example). For Chat and share options. Pretty sure.

The dual screen old switch new switch idea was waaaaaaaaay too complicated for a user friendly expereince Nintendo if known for (or for at least trying to).

Re: Chrono Trigger's Lifetime Sales Have Now Surpassed The Five Million Mark

msvt

I have long given up on a proper release I would have paid up the nose for.

I now emulate it for free across 4 platforms and can share it with my gamer friends on various consoles and handhelds.

It would take a very special kind of remake to ever buy yet again. First time I ever bought it though was on release day for the SNES version which set me back $80.... holy heck, that was ton of money for a kid back then!!

Re: SEGA Wants To "Reinforce" Its Core Studios, But Don't Expect New Games Soon

msvt

@Zeebor15

No , you see... I plan to skip first couple years of S2 to play my backlog (mostly new to me) but saying that VF 6 would be the one to push me into action sooner. I'd really like to hold out because of they always release an updated console couple years anyway!

I can wait on the all the new games and grab them cheaper later. VF6 just me real giddy. Oh but you're saying S2 may not even powerful to pull off a direct port for it. Hmm... had not considered that. I do have Series X too but strongly prefer Nintendo whenever possible.

Re: Talking Point: Is The Switch 2 Going To Be Too Big?

msvt

Many of us OG Nintendorks need the bigger screen to even read the text. This time I hope Nintendo makes it mandatory to be readable in handheld mode, like the 3DS games were. Many games were planned for big screen tv not portable and it shows! And the zoom function is awful on Switch1.
