Re: Poll: Are You Ready To Move On From The Switch?

msvt

Nowhere near ready!!

So many games to play as is.... very high quality and exciting games and I will enjoy Switch and what I have (still!) on 3DS.... I may just skip the next gen and maybe even the one after just to enjoy what I have already.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th July)

msvt

Once again this weekend, still playing the gem of SWITCH

And that is GRID!!! Freaking great racing on Switch.

Quake! (anyone can tell which DOOM -or DOOM/Quake style game I should grab next! What is best of the best on Switch?)

Mario Galaxy (Switch with pro Controller)

Virtua Fighter 5 with fightstick

Street Fighter (various;30th collection, SF4, SF6 across Switch and Series X and 360 also with fightstick)

Re: Review: Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble (Switch) - Super Single-Player, But Multiplayer's A Mess

msvt

I like Super Monkey Ball since it launched with GC.

HOWEVER.... a major upgrade with these games is the bananas'.. Instead of extra lives for 100 every time you grab a 'nanner, it should boost 3 or 5 seconds to the time. I hate the rushy feel. It is frustrating and adding time would help you keep going but stay focused. It is hard enough as it is and would be WAY more enjoyable, this way.

I never beat the 2 GC games, but still put them in from time to time and rage quit after a couple game sessions.

Re: Talking Point: Could Another Nintendo Series Take Over The 'Traditional' Zelda Template?

msvt

it is more like BOTW/TOTK should and COULD have been a new IP.?

yes LoZ did need an overhaul, but not to the point of losing its' spirit. Which actually started with the experimental DS games.

Time for Aunoma to move on, imo... new fresh take and blood on ALL eras of Zelda to work from. He has way too many hangups and it quite disconnected and arrogant (again, my opinion) is 'his' direction for these games.

Way too much control for someone carrying resentments and baggage that causes an over-correction on Aunona's part, over and over again.

For the poll, I voted Star Tropics. I think there is some gold in them hills. Maybe Golden Sun IP would work for this too?

Re: Retro Studios "Thrilled" To Reveal Its Work On Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

msvt

I could THANK Nintendo and Retro FOREVER for sticking to their promise and putting this on SWITCH!!

They have the entire history of SWITCH backing this game, it is to be the most optimized version of any SWITCH game, ever possible. Not a half baked "new switch" game where they barely know the hardware.

SWITCH's long life cycle is THE standard for consoles moving forward.

Ibought me Series X last year (impulse uy over FOMO) and the thing just has the same indie retro styled games as SWITCH but without Nintendo.

Nintendo -by extending the SWITCH life is the GOAT.
That is proper customer care and proper value out of a console that we can actually have some time to play this massive library of incredible games. Golden era of Nintendo most definitely returned with this generation. I will love it forever. Going out on top, and as the top selling console of all-time (by then it will be!) it is incredibly well-deserved. And thank goodness they did NOT do a stupid Switch Pro half way through and stuck to their long cycle plan. What a valueble generation it is.

Re: Talking Point: Will Nintendo Wring One More Holiday From Switch Before Revealing New Hardware?

msvt

Holiday 2024 will first and final price drop and bundle deals.

A celebration of ALL games of the generation and pushing the huge library of games from all eras.

Maybe 1 or 2 token new releases, likely remasters or DX versions. No metroid, pokemon ....but just maybe the HD Zeldas, and FZero GX.

Hmm...

I just need time to play some before the next Switch drops.
In fact, I'll wait a year or or or for the first revision before buying one anyway.

Re: Best Pikmin Games

msvt

The first Pikmin on GC (not switch remaster) is vastly underrated!

All-time true gem of a game, concept and unique vibe!

Re: Review: Balatro (Switch) - Devilishly Compelling Cardplay, And A Clear GOTY Contender

msvt

I do like this game, but it was only a few days worth of focused play for me.

I think it is fairly ugly on the big screen (even with graphic adjustments), and text for the cards too small for handheld, which is awful to have to use the poor zoom function.

I like deck games and I like rogues ... it'll be occasional play for me, but that is at best.

Was hoping for more. I think as the year goes on it'll go from GOTY to largely overhyped. Glad folks are enjoying it, but 10/10 and all this and that wreaks of 'shiny new toy'.
