Re: Poll: The Nintendo Switch OLED Is Out Today, Are You Getting One?

msvt

To be honest I LOVE IT.

But... I fought hard and long to obtain my Animal Crossing Edition Switch, and though I'd like an upgrade -the price point and not enough NEW is keeping my money in my wallet.

A larger OLED overall would have sold me though, Text sizes on Switch handheld play is way too small for me on most games. And that is an issue I never have with any 3DS gems, because those games were designed to be seen/READ on small screens.

Re: Best GameCube Games

My favorite console and time of gaming all-around, ever! Golden age of 3 big companies battling it out got lots of innovation and creativity!

Gamecube deserved to be so much better off through -especially next to the pitiful original XBOX.

Mine is still hooked up on a classic GXTV in the bedroom.

Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch OLED Model

msvt

What I really need is a OLED XL!!

Screen still too small for small text (meant for tv screen in most cases) for thee dyin' eyes!

I have no issues reading text on 3DS Xl, but with Switch I can not play many games in portable mode.

Re: Nintendo Celebrates 20 Years Of GameCube In New Smash Bros. Event

@Nin10dood

it was a really special time.

Pikmin and Smash Melee a couple weeks later was my most exciting time... then a year or 2 Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker and Metroid Prime in the same year.. I had been in games since Pong but this one was where my true affinity for Nintendo was bonded for liiiiiiiife. Long live the Cube indeed!

Re: Review: Project X Zone 2 (3DS)

How the heck do I fight in this game? Seems like no matter what buttons I use it just does whatever.

I've searched online for tips or 'how to fight'... any tips here from fans of these games?

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Deserted Island Diary Releases Later This Month

msvt

@Snatcher

I wasn't around for it before any updates so I don't know if they made a difference. All I can tell you is that as a huge fan of this series, I actually recently went back and bought City Life to save for when I am really wanting some "new" animal crossing because this one left me feeling like I wasted my cash. It's funny because I went overboard beforehand and actually bought the AC Switch console. Oops. !

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Deserted Island Diary Releases Later This Month

@Snatcher

I was also late to this game this time around.

I put 3 weeks in, just like you said. It was a chore and disappointing and I have stopped playing to move on to other games (Dragon Quest Builders2 for example.

original GC Animal Crossing is one of the games I have restarted and I love it to death. I have 800 hours in my New Leaf town too.

The latest AC is boring, and a padding-fesst of cycling.... and I mean do CONSTANT cycling through up to 6 or 7 tools with the D pad. What a game breaking kistake. They should have an on-screen toolbox to click with your thumb or the cursor.. I mean it, I spend hours going through the tools -all of them (pretty much) are needed just to get around the island all in one trip, so no- grabbing "what you need" and leaving the rest for quicker selecting would also be a game breaker.

Seriously, I do recommend waiting for the inevitable "welcome amiibo' type update before jumping in.

Just my .02 but I put that game down and barely felt like I missed out on an actual Animal Crossing game at all.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Arceus Info Is Coming "Soon", Says The Pokémon Company

msvt

This is a Day-One pre-order for me. In fact.... I may have already

I really reeeeeeealllly hope they have been cooking this one for a long time, No rush job needed. It is important to be finished upon release.

This Legends series could be a whole new side game -for each region, if done right.

Looking forward to actual information, but so far, very excited for this.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 1.11.1 Patch Notes - More Bug Fixes

msvt

Original AC still the my favorite, but it will be at least a a generation or even 2 that they will be able to make the Animal Crossing Ultimate.

This game did not stick with me for long. In fact I have gone back into New Leaf and have an unopened City Folk (for Wii) that I can jump into for my authentic AC experience.

Maybe something like that would work for others that are bored with this new imposter AC game

Re: Poll: Mario Golf: Super Rush Is Out Today On Switch, Are You Getting It?

msvt

Unfortunately Camelot phones in their games now and after I canceled the pre-order, I will likely skip this generation of this series. Toadstool, 64 and the 3DS versions were my jam, but the best golf on Switch is Golf Story.

This Super rush nonsense is a waste of time and I'm not interested anymore. I would ideally like to play a long relaxing developed golf game in the mario universe. And I would prefer to play and level-up as those characters too, not Mii's.

Re: Review: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 - A Rock Solid Switch Port For A Pair Of Pros

msvt

Quick CONTROLLER question for everyone:

D-pad or Stick.... what are ya'll using?? Specifically on this new version.

I have always used D-Pad and controlled it a bit like a fighting game back in the PS2 and GC days.

I'd find it very interesting to see what everyone prefers, especially now.

Was this designed "for" stick preferred or pad preferred from the developer?

Re: The First Review For Mario Golf: Super Rush Is Now In

msvt

After just playing through Mario Golf for 3DS and becoming endlessly annoyed with the camera controls, I decided to cancel my pre-order and opted instead for Tony Hawk (same day release).

Camelot's track record of releasing unfinished games to then update well after the fact and patch, most definitely give me a sense of confidence.

plus..... honestly the last thing I would want out of a golf game, is RUSHING and speeding. I was so excited but up until now I will wait and see on this one.

On the flip side, I recently bought Golf Story and loving the heck out of it!!
