It's fairly standard for Ubisoft to run a couple of major sale periods on various download stores throughout the year, and the eShop platforms are no different. Some of the content may have been around for a good while, but that doesn't mean there aren't some gems to consider picking up.

Get Shadow Wars. That's my advice to everyone
No ubisoft >_> this will not make things better, Give us another 3D rayman game like rayman 2, to the Wii U. Then we talk
I think its time to get Shadow Wars...
If I didn't own them already, I'd be all over:
Splinter Cell Blacklist
Assassins Creed 3
Assassins Creed 4
Watch Dogs
Child of Light
Rayman Legends
Rayman Origins
You could grab every game on that list for less than $90.
That's the way to do it...
Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars is a steal for under $10. I might get Black Flag for $15, but have to check how the Wii U version fares.
@97alexk
Wanting a Rayman game like Rayman 2 is fine and well, but don't discount these games. Splinter Cell Blacklist and Rayman Legends are among the best games on Wii U. And personally I think Origins and Legends are far better than any of the previous entries...
So, I own a Wii U... but I really like what Ubisoft has done in regards to supporting the platform as well. Will the NintendoLife community outcast me?
Dat Child of Light price doe
@ThomasBW84 I feel sorry for anybody that hasn't played Shadow Wars yet. Best launch title by far for me.
I'm tempted by Watch Dogs and Splinter for the U but I don't need more games at this time. I still have unopened games to play. I've got 3 years worth of game to play that I still haven't finished.
@JaxonH Idk, ubisoft games dont interest me that much, and i thought rayman 2 is still better than legends, Legends is better than origins
I was about to get BO2 for Wii U but I think I'll get like two of these as the only one I own is ZombiU.
Which should I get!??
They are practically giving away Child of Light. If you don't have it already, buy it now.
Child of Light for just over $3??? I recommend any fan of RPGs or adventure games go buy Chold of Light immediately.
@Salnax Wii U verion is well ported, I have it and it's great
I got Shadow Wars last time it went on sale for $7.49, and wow, it was well worth it.
I honestly feel that Splinter Cell 3D gets a bum wrap. The game is much better than most give it credit for (at least for me because I'm just interested in the single player content). And having all your equipment mapped to the touch screen is much quicker and more convenient than having to mess around with pop up menus. Frame rate isn't very good, but it's consistent. I say if you're even a little interested, you can't go wrong for that price. It's probably the best portable Splinter Cell money can buy.
Oh and might I also add that you unlock equipment as you complete missions, and you get to use ALL of it in each mission (in other words, you can bring the fore grip, launcher, shotgun, and sniper attachments into a mission all together, a pretty fun advantage that SC3D has over the console versions where you had to select from three static load outs). Also, it has cooler night vision goggles that fuse night vision, thermal vision, and EMF vision into one sleek viewing mode that looks like white-hot thermal.
And yes, Shadow Wars is a steal if you're looking for a good TBS game. It's like a futuristic Fire Emblem (albeit with flat characters and story, but the game play delivers).
I'm definitely grabbing Child of Light for that price though because I love RPGs. And I may pick up Blacklist as I've wanted to for a long time but just haven't.
@Hero-of-WiiU Splinter Cell Blacklist and Rayman Legends (add in Child of Light as a third because so cheap).
I'm not sure why I clicked on this article given that it's for an American sale, whilst I'm from the UK. I'm also not sure why I clicked on this article given that it's for an eShop sale, and unless the game is digital only, I avoid downloads as much as I can.
That said, and seeing the prices of the discounts, I'd recommend everyone from the US who hasn't already played Child of Light to take advantage of this sale and purchase it. Child of Light still stands as my favourite game of this 8th Generation, a truly wonderful turn based RPG with beautiful art design and a game that has delivered plenty of enjoyment.
Other than that, the only other game I've played on this list is Watch Dogs. It's overall mediocre, but I admittedly had a ton of fun with it, though this could be due to my lack of familiarity with that particular genre and style of game. It could also be because taking down every enemy through the usage of security cameras and not once being spotted is always fun.
I've heard good things about Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag and Rayman Legends. The latter is something I've been considering picking up in future, though admittedly the only point wherein I truly loved the Rayman series was when I was playing Rayman 2 on the Dreamcast. For that reason I could also suggest Rayman 3D, as it is a port of Rayman 2, but I'm unsure of the overall quality of that port.
Well...guess I'll get Child of Light, then! I've heard good things about it, so I may as well use this to my advantage. Any other recommendations?
Maybe Cloudberry Kingdom
@Spoony_Tech Start feeling sorry for me. I haven't played it yet.
I'd get it but I need to get Persona Q (I may still not get this and wait for the next sale) and I told my son we'd get Binding of Isaac on Thursday.
I'll certainly be picking up Child of Light at that price...and anyone who hasn't already played Rayman Legends, get it!! It's one of the best platformers I've played in years, and makes the best use of the touch screen in those levels.
Now, how is Cloudberry Kingdom? Also, would rather a bigger sale on it, but tempted by Tetris Ultimate, even if I still carry TetrisDS with me at all times...
I've said it before and i'll say it again: Meh.
@Igmx As far as I've heard, it works just fine. The only problem is that they've released that game on 100 different formats.
Child of light for sure
@Salnax Fortunately the Wii U version is great!
I've been throwing Ubi under the bus but Shadow wars is beyond worth it for that price.
If this includes the DLC for Assassin's Creed III, perhaps I will finally get around to playing it. Because while I am tempted to get my own copy of AC:IV, there just isn't enough game left for me to do it.
I really wish they would have released Assassin's Creed: Rouge to the platform. I probably would have bought that in the first month instead of Captain Toad.
@97alexk Are you kidding? Rayman Legends is way better than 2 in every way!!! I'd love the Rayman Origins/Legends to turn into a trilogy!!! too bad it didn't sell better.
Hurry at $20 everyone buy this!
Everyone needs to buy Child of Light for that price.
Unless of course you have it already.
Ah, the Ubi Summer Sale. This one show of goodwill every year is almost enough to make me not despise them entirely. Got Child Of Light and Cloudberry Kingdom for under 7 bucks. Not a bad day at all.
Cloudberry Kingdom and Child of Light for me. I'm not even the slightest bit interested for any of the other games. Unless Ubisoft brings back Gameboy Tetris on the 3DS, then I would no longer be interested in Ubisoft.
Child of Light is a must have at that price. AC Black Flag for $15 is worth it too. One of my favorite games in recent years. Definitely worth it.
Child of Light, Tetris Ultimate and Petz Countryside for me.
Idk. Rayman origins does look tempting at that price. Might get it b4 the 3rd.
Glad to see Rayman Legends down to $19.99
Child of Light is amazing, one of my all time favourites for Wii U! I highly recommend it for that price. But I have a question, for $7.50 is Marvel Avengers worth it? I've heard it's pretty bad but I've only played the 360 version with Kinect which I hated, but maybe with the pad it would fare batter?
Those aren't great deals on most of the games especially AC & Watch Dogs. I picked up ACIV for Wii U for $8 at best buy months ago.
Ac4, zombiu, rayman legends, splinter cell and blchild of light. People owe it to themselves to check these out.
Wait, is $3.75 for Child of Light for real or is that some sort of typo?
I was planning to get that as soon as I saw a sale but I wasn't expecting a sale to be aware near that big for it! I'm all over that.
I don't even like RPGs but at that price Child of Light has my attention.
Can anyone tell me if it's worth getting Rayman Origins on 3DS? I know the graphics are a bit muddy, but is it otherwise as good as the other versions?
I don't like Ubisoft, but maybe I'll check out Child of Light for that price
Wow, a lot of these games you can find cheaper in stores... The only benefit is if you want it digital
Shadow Wars is fantastic. If you like Fire Emblem or Advance Wars, buy it. Or buy it anyway. It is really good
@Giygas_95 Splinter Cell BL is a good game, def pick it up.
I guess I'll pick up Shadow Wars, a lot of hype coming from that one plus it looks decent from what I see. Maybe even ZombiU for my new Wii U.
Definitely getting Child of Light.
Child of Light is so darn amazing. Please do yourself a favor and get this game at that price.
Guess it's time to grab Rayman Legends. Though I feel they could've done better than $19.99.
At this point in the game, Ubisoft is going to have to pay me to play their games.
/me courteously abstains....
Child of Light is a steal. The rest of the prices are meh. I got Rayman Legends for 15 dollars new, and that was a year ago!
@Kenology and others...Rayman Legends is $15 at Walmart right now.
No denying it, Shadow Wars is awesome.
I might have to pick up one of the Rayman games.
Might get shadow wats to get me hyped for fates
Lost my copy of awakening 😰
Whoa, Child of Light for $3? Definitely getting that! Does anyone know if Ubisoft is doing this sale for other platforms too? I'd prefer to get Rayman Legends on the Xbox One.
Ouch... I'm not liking the lack of new content from Ubisoft here. 😕
@Retro_on_theGo Rayman Legends was on sale on the PS4 a few weeks ago and now it's on sale on the Wii U so maybe Xbox is next?
@Salnax black flag is great on the wiiu. I recommend it.
Anyone who doesn't have Child of Light and has any interest, get it now. That's a great price on a phenomenal game. For myself, I might get Rayman Legends, not sure though
I I think I need Child of Light and Rayman Legends. Then... Maybe Assassin's Creed?
@Giygas_95 I've played the game, and i honestly think it's decent... However, the game is buggy and glitchy. Well, maybe not glitchy, but the game sure looks it needs some cleanup.
For a little bit above $7, I think you can get away with the game.
EDIT: Oops. My bad. I thought you were talking about Rayman 3D. Apologies.
Hopefully they'll have the same in Europe,If so I'll be getting AC IV , Splinter Cell and possibly Watchdogs if it's under 20.
@VeeFlamesNL No problem, I just appreciate it when people reply, as it often feels like my questions on these comment sections get ignored.
@creative92 Thanks, I will!
the prices aren't that great for the Canadian eShop. it's 22.49 for Tetris Ultimate and Petz Countryside. I didn't check the Wii U eShop though. I wish I could get some new games but I just bought a new laptop and printer and spoiled my kids with some new toys and games. I'm out of money now lol
Cloudberry Kingdom is a ton of fun, especially with friends! I recommend picking it up if you don't have it yet.
"Ubisoft..."
stops reading
...
okay, took time out to voice displeasure with Ubisoft. Technicalities, people!
Got my eye on Child of Light, but I guess I can wait for next week, which the sale still goes on... Why? I just went to my GameStop to resolve a dilemma involving a missing Street Fighter V beta code and I did get it... As well as a King Dedede Amiibo that was there! There are three rare Amiibos left for the taking. Ness, Wario, and Charizard.
Ummm... You guys really shouldn't jump on the Shadow Wars deal like that...
Gamestop sells it used for five bucks.
May finally get watch dogs
@Salnax The game's okay on the Wii U... but just okay. There's some seriously bad framerate drops in it (sometimes it goes down to 18 frames per second in Havana. 18 frames!), the minimap interestingly lags, and there's no DLC.
Also there IS off-tv play, if you're really into it. And everything else is still the same as the other ports. Still, I wouldn't recommend it at $15. You can get it for $20-ish on next-gen consoles on Amazon, $30 digitally. (and I believe Black Flag is free on Xbox Live Gold atm).
It's a great game... it's just that the Wii U version isn't.
I plan to pick up cloudberry kingdom. I'm tempted to get watch_dogs too but that might wait until next payday when I can grab another eShop card.
@ThomasBW84
Great recommendation because Shadow Wars is a fantastic game. It was made by the creator of Xcom and that pedigree shows.
@pikminfan22
I'd go for AC4 Black Flag, as I found AC3 to be incredibly boring.
Child of Light is the big bargin here though.
So in the end I got Assasains Creed Black Flag, Rayman 3D, and Child of Light all for around 30$ including task.
@pikminfan22
The first game would likely put you off, I bought it on the 360 for $3 and regretted paying even that much for it. AC4 is the only one that I've actually enjoyed and as it has a different protagonist than the earlier games it'll be a good place to start.
Is there a reason all of the best sales seem to be on 3DS? Kind of highlights Ubisoft's lack of commitment to portable games.
@pikminfan22 If you have a PC or an Xbox/PS I would get ACII, that one is still my favorite because of the main character and locations.
I've longed since picked up the three games of which I have any interest (Child of Light, Rayman Legends, Shadow Wars) from their various sales. They're all great games, though. I just wish I could figure out how to get "Child of Light" to recognize my UPlay account.
I was about to pull the trigger on finally getting Watch_Dogs, but then I thought to look on Amazon. It's still cheaper there., and it may be the kind of game I never want to touch again after finishing it, so it would be better to have the disc version.
Buy Child of Light, even if you're not going to play.
"Are any of you in North America tempted by these deals?"
Save for Child of Light, not really.
Holy crap, Child of Light and Cloudberry Kingdom are dirt cheap, adding them to my imaginary buy-list when I get a $50 card later this week. So, that would be: the 3 new characters and Dreamland stage for Smash (both Wii U and 3ds), Mother 1, Donkey Kong Country 2, Child of Light and Cloudberry Kingdom, and then I have $9.75 to spare. I'm gonna be a bit busy. Goodbye, outside world.
Child of light sounds reaaaally tempting.
Might get it.
I heard it supports 2 players.
How does it plays?
If you don't have Child of Light yet you should definitely get it. Great game and at $3.75 it's a steal.
Alot of these games arent really that good
although base on the prices i get "Child Of Light", "Rayman Legends" and maybe Watch Dogs, but not really interested in Assassin Creed or the Tom Clancy's games although Shadow Wars looks interested by the score that it got here.
I literally just got Watch_Dogs last week in store. Luckily the retail version was in the discount bin for about the same price. It's no where near as bad as everyone said it was. I actually find it quite enjoyable with the right options turned off and the right controls selected. The game does suffer from Assassin's Creed Syndrome, though, where each game mechanic seems overly complicated and unintuitive at first. It grows on you.
Still wish the driving portions used the gamepad gyro, though.
Heard nothing but awesome things about Child Of Light, and for only 3.75, its a definite purchase.
@gatorboi352 Supporting Ubisoft will make you a outcast on any community.
I HIGHLY recommend Child of Light, if you do not own it.
(and doh, Rayman Legends if you have missed it for some reason ) Cloudberry Kingdom has been...well it is different, challenging and rather interesting (aka. screams, bad words and finally turning Wii U off).
As For Shadow Wars. I think I bought it two years ago for 4.99€ from local electornics store. they seemed to get rid of their gaming section (chain, which is odd because statewide they are still selling gaming stuff but not this store). I just looked what they had there (Spyro DotD was too 4.99), googled Shadow Wars with my phone and though oh ok. Probably something hubby would play when travelling and he loved it
So erm....recommendding that too.
@BulbasaurusRex You have to download the UPlay app from the eshop and login to that. Afterwards, it should be recognized by all Ubisoft games on the system.
14 bucks for tetris? TETRIS? It's even more in Australian prices (although not as much as in comparison to America). It'll probably $20 here, and as a 'sale price', I think I'll stick to the free versions you can play pretty much anywhere.
@ThomasBW84 I'd agree - I've had Shadow Wars since launch and have been waiting for a sale in the UK eShop to buy the download copy. It kept me going whilst waiting for Fire Emblem Awakening! Brilliant game.
So it seems Shadow Wars is widely recommended, I guess I'll pick that one up. Any other 3DS recommendation? I don't have any of these games yet. I'm considering the other Tom Clancy and either Rayman, but still not sure.
@ThomasBW84 thanks for the advice! Picked up Shadow Wars
Child of Light for less than four bucks is absolutely crazy. Please get it if you haven't already.
Watch_Dogs and ZombiU need to go quite a bit further down in price before I consider buying them on the eShop. Even if they were physical copies, I'd prefer they be under $18 each...
@ThomasBW84 Definitely, the first game I bought with my launch 3DS and one of my favorites. very underrated!
I been procrastinating on buying Child of Light since it first came out so that's on my to download list. I'll also download the infamous Just Dance 2015 since it's a low enough download price for me to get.
Hmmm, was going to get shadow wars and Blacklist but the physical versions are cheaper at the nearest gamestop.
Child of Light. I'm waist deep in RPG's, but for that price I may as well.
Probably not coming to Europe this sale, then. Shame. Much as Ubisoft has narked a few with their hubris and lack of support for Wii U, some of their games are actually great. I'd be really impressed if they released Fractured But Whole. Doubtful on happening so will have to get for PC. Child of light is superb though and would probably get Shadow Wars too. If I wasn't in EU, that is.
I own a good chunk of these on one system or the other. Best deals are Shadow Wars, a 3DS launch game that is still one of the best strategy games on the system.. I wish they had made a sequel with online modes. Child of Light, a super charming , lovingly crafted RPG at a steal of a price. I'd also say Splinter Cell 3D, though flawed, is a great portable SC game based on one of the best entries in the series.
And though I prefer playing some of these Wii U games on PS4 due to better online /DLC support, if Wii U is your primary console, AC: Black Flag and SC: Blacklist are fantastic games for any price.
My birthday is July 30... Been eyeballing Watch Dogs since it came out with Smash last year. Just sayin'.
Finally, child of light shall become mine!
@ThomasBW84 I'm definitely getting shadow wars. I've been a fan of the ghost recon series for the longest, I just love their games.
Huh, Child of Light is kind of a no brainer at under 4 bucks. Y U NO DISCOUNT WATCH DOGE UBI?!
Edit: Apparently I'm blind, and WD is on sale as well. Well, holy red fox!
Shadow Wars I loved a lot. One of my favorite games. Great great 40 hours.
@Retro_on_theGo
Dude, I strongly recommend getting Rayman Legends for Wii U over any other platform. There are so many fun elements to using the gamepad on this game. My wife prefers playing as the person with the gamepad over actually doing the platforming elements. However, it's not just a "girlfriend mode," as I have a couple gamer friends that prefer to use that mode over the regular platforming stuff. It's really quite fun and, though I haven't tried it, I can't see how it would be the same on any other system.
Also, I've gotta say I agree with the sentiment on Shadow Wars. It really is a very underrated game.
At long last, Child of Light goes on sale, and it will be mine at 75% off the regular price. HELL yes. Another backlog game bites the dust. I would like to play ACIII, ACIV, and Watch Dogs, but I still feel they are way too overpriced for my liking. I may never get those (or get to play them again thru GameFly) so I'm good. Shadow Wars has tempted my strategy game itch since it first came out-- I'll think about that one.
Oh yeah, and ZombiU... always wanted to play through that game, but dat price doh...
Got that child of light finally lol
@Grumblevolcano I did, and my game doesn't recognize it. It claims I don't have an account when I try to connect in-game, and I've completed two of the achievements, but they don't register on my account when I launch the UPlay app from the home menu. Is it because I started my game before downloading the app?
