I just hooked up my N64 the other day and I replayed some of Conker's Bad Fur Day, and man talk about horrible frame rate for the cut scenes. Still fun, but man did it drag.
I know I'm in the minority, but why do we need a movie at all? The games do a pretty good job at telling the stories. Not everything needs to be a movie or a TV show. I know it's all about the money, but I'm fine with just playing a new good game every few years.
When the amiibo announcements were the highlight for me, then I know it's time to move on to the next system. Switch 1 has been my favorite home console system since the SNES, but it's definitely time to move on to the next.
I mean, couldn't they just reuse his voice for all future Mario games and still let him "retire" and become a Mario Ambassador? Either way, he seems like a lovely man, and just hearing him voice Mario and all the other characters brings a smile to my face.
Day 1 for me. I will even double dip and buy the physical when it comes out. This is such a nostalgic game from my childhood. I'm glad it's finally getting the love it deserves.
I loved this game on my PC back in the day, and I downloaded it for my PS3, and it's really the only reason I fire my PS3 back on is to play this from time to time.
I pre-ordered this last week. I've never played it, or watched any videos of it. This is one game I'm solely buying because of word of mouth. It's one thing when all the websites/podcasts rave about a game, but when I have co-workers come up to me randomly asking, "Have you played Vampire Survivors?" Not just one co-worker, but multiple, I figured I should look into this game. haha.
I love the Red Dead series just as much, if not more, than the GTA franchise. But I stayed away from the GTA Switch ports, but if this is better, i will be picking this up when the physical cart comes out.
I wanted this game so bad when it came out. I probably would've chosen to play the 3DS version, but it's a shame this never came out in the West. I'm not holding my breath for the Offline version to come out, but hopefully it does.
So many good games getting "released" this year. Of course we won't actually get to play any of the physical releases until 2024. My biggest complaint is still how long it takes to get the actual game in our hands.
I remember getting Karateka for my C64 as a kid, and to this day it's still one of my favorite games. I can't wait for this release, and I love the idea of this new series by Digital Eclipse.
Started with Dragon Warrior 1-3 on NES. I only play the series on a Nintendo system (I don't know why?), so I had to wait awhile to play the rest of the series on DS and 3DS and Switch. 10 is the only one I haven't played. Hoping the offline version comes to the West someday.
@KazooieTooie Oh, I know. lol. I was being a bit sarcastic, but yeah, normally Fortnite isn't a type of game I would normally like, but I've been playing pretty much since it first showed up on Switch, and it is one of the games I just keep going back to when I'm just relaxing at night.
I've shamefully put in over 900 hours into Fortnite (although I've still never spent a dime in the game). I haven't played it in a couple weeks since Zelda came out. Just another reason I love Tears of the Kingdom. It broke me of my addiction. Thank you, Zelda.
I just don't have the patience to create anything remotely as good as these are. Bravo to all these players. I kind of wish this was an MMO now so I could just walk around seeing all these creations in the wild. lol
These are amazing!!! One thing I told myself before I started playing was I wasn't going to actively look for Koroks this game. This changed my mind. This is the only thing you should do to Koroks.
@Ralizah I think that's why this hits home to me more than the initial Switch launch ads did. I'm this guy, or at least in theory. I'm in my late 40's. I've been playing Nintendo/video games since the late 70's. I had an NES in 1986. I purchased the original Zelda on a whim in 1987, and I've been hooked ever since. So I do appreciate this ad if nothing more than I assume this guy has been playing Nintendo/Zelda since the NES days too, and he still loves these games as much now as he did when he was a kid.
Does Square Enix own the rights to do games in HD2D? If not, and Nintendo can make a game in that style, I think Zelda 1 would look incredible in that style.
I took advantage of the BOGO sale Gamestop had a couple weeks ago, and I picked up Skyward Sword (only Zelda game I've never played), and I got Octopath 2 for free. I bought Octopath 1 when it came out, and it is a gorgeous game, but I got really bored with it, really fast. Octopath 2 was the complete opposite. I'm loving every second I'm playing it. The characters and stories seemed way more fleshed out. If they do a third one, I hope they can live up to the second one.
For me, it goes: Switch Pro controller, WiiU Pro controller, SNES controller, NES controller, and then Gamecube controller. I'm not a fan of motion controllers. And the N64 controller just hasn't aged well.
@Tasuki Oh yeah, I remember thinking as a kid what I wouldn't give to just go back in the video game room be amongst all those games. lol Yeah, I remember couple times being disappointed when the pouch for a game was all out of tickets. I would then go and look through all the other pouches hoping that someone put the game ticket I wanted in another games pouch. lol
FF 1 on the NES. I can still remember pulling the last purchase tag to take the video game counter at Toys R Us. One of my favorite childhood NES memories.
I'm very interested in playing these if true, if for nothing else just to see how bad they were. I have, a still in the box, never played, CD-i (recently found after a death in the family), but these games are so expensive I never seriously thought I'd get a chance to play them.
This was a kick to the gut when I first discovered this last week. I thought it was a glitch. I usually still played this 2-3 times a week. It's a shame the badges are rotating anymore either. So there are some sets that will never show up again? I have 70 complete sets, but some that I was really close to getting (1 or 2 badges left) won't be showing up anymore.
I purchased a number of titles that I've spent years wanting to get. Not nearly all the titles I've wanted to play though. Some have physical editions, so I better hurry and get those before they skyrocket in price now. Can you imagine the outcry when Nintendo shuts down the Switch eshop in 10 years? lol

No Tunic? It's so inspired by the original Legend of Zelda, the manual is almost an exact copy (design wise) of Zelda's.
Re: Surprise! Red Dead Redemption Blasts Onto Switch Next Week

Re: Talking Point: Which Nintendo IP Should 'Switch 2' Launch With?
At this point Metroid Prime 4 is the logical choice. I mean, I've had it pre-ordered on Amazon since it was announced. lol
But Mario Kart 9 would be an instant smash, and would move more units to the casual gamer.
