From all the poor early reviews I've seen, maybe they're just waiting until the stink of the PlayStation Classic wears off before they release the N64 Classic?
While I do love the Switch, and think it's an overall better console, there are features on the WiiU that I wish the Switch had. Internet browser, Netflix and Amazon Prime, and a legit Virtual Console. I hope history looks back fondly on the WiiU. It was put in such an odd position as a console, but in the end, it had a lot of great games.
I love a good "sim" game, and it's been awhile since I've played one, and this really looks fun. I've always wanted to create my own "OZ." lol But I think I'll wait till it goes on sale as well.
I would love it if Fire Pro World would come to Switch. I'm very close to pre-ordering it on PS4, but I'm holding out hope they'll announce something soon. I'd much rather play it on Switch.
This taps into the secret fantasy I used to have as a kid of going into abandoned old toy stores years after they close, and finding toys hidden away. The TRU store that closed in my town last week still has the doorway to the storage room you used to have to take your ticket to get your games. Now I'm imagining there's a treasure trove of old NES, SNES, and N64 games back there. haha.
I backed it. I'm really looking forward to playing Punch Out! with it, and the SNK collection when it comes out. Ikari Warriors plays so much better vertically.
Ikari Warriors is my all-time favorite arcade game. I really am looking forward to this collection. I wish the NES versions of these games would be included on the Switch version as well, but that's just wishful thinking.
I'm totally fine with if this game doesn't get any DLC. I do miss the "good old days" of buying an RPG and having the game be complete in the cart. I'm loving the demo so far, and I can't wait for the game to come out next month. This has been a fun experience, and it reminds me of the glory days of the RPG's on the SNES.
DK hits me right in the feels. It's one of the first arcade games I remember playing as a kid, and it was the first NES game I got. So I'll buy it just about every time it gets released.
I wish someone would've leaked that we'd have to sit through a banjo player, a 20min intermission, and then a flute player for Sony, before getting to the games. I would've appreciated that heads up.
@coleman83 I feel the same. I've been playing all Dragon Quest games on the DS line of consoles, and thought XI would be a great way to cap off the system. Plus, everything I've heard from people who played the Japanese version, it's the best version of the game.
Does this hack let me run Japanese games? The run video I saw said at this time it wouldn't run PAL region games, but he didn't say anything about NTSC-J region. Thanks!
I have two mini NES's. I got the second one for the sole purpose to hack it, and it's been so much fun! I would've gotten a PI, but there's something about playing Nintendo games on an actual Nintendo with the actual Nintendo controllers, not a third party reproduction. I'm planning on getting 2 SNES as well. Leaving one as is, and hacking the second.
While Zelda and Mario were the "faces" of the NES back in the day (and to this day), Metroid was my favorite game on the NES. I bought it solely on the box cover, and to this day, I play it at least once every few months. Super Metroid was just an incredible game for the SNES, and I don't think I played any game more on my Game Boy more than Metroid 2. It's a shame we don't have any new 2D side scrolling game in the franchise, but hopefully sometime in the lifespan of the NX we'll get a true Metroid game. Happy Birthday old friend.
I'm an in-box collector. Shovel Knight was the first amiibo I bought two of, because I actually wanted to use it with the game, as it is one of my favorite games. Just my luck that this is the first amiibo where I didn't need to do that. Oh well. lol
It's a safe choice. But when you think of Nintendo, you think of Miyamoto. He's been the face and spirit of Nintendo since DK. Takeda is probably the smarter "buisness" choice, but Miyamoto, to me, is the smarter "fun" choice. If that's a thing. haha.
I never played this on the Wii. It came out by the time I was over that system, but there isn't a game I'm looking forward to playing more on the New 3DS than this one!
I've purposely held off buying this for PS4, because I want to support the Wii U, but I will only buy it if the Wii U version has all the options, and DLC as the PS4 version.
I'm too am disappointed that there wasn't any psychical gifts. But I am glad to get a free game that I normally wouldn't buy. So I picked up DK Country Returns 3D. I haven't played the DK Country games since the SNES days. I guess it's a good thing there are Mario Kart Happy Meal toys out now.
I first played this game in 1988 in Disney World, and everytime I hear the music it takes me back to that time. I love this game, and it holds up pretty well.
I loved this game. I think it was pretty underrated when it came out in the arcades. When I was a kid, I preferred this DK game over the original, and much more than DK Jr. I'd love to see Stanley show up in a Mario Kart game in the future.
If they ever did a DC or Marvel game with this concept I'd be bankrupt within a week. Although, these are tempting. I had to force myself to leave Best Buy yesterday without buying the game and some extra figures.
I would get Tecmo Bowl, but I got it for the Wii years ago, and since Madden has exclusive NFLPA rights there were no actual names in the game. I'm sure the same will be true for these downloads. Good thing I still have my NES hooked up.
I agree. The prizes are a bit lack luster. I love prizes like when they did Mario statues. I think if you're platinum, you should be able to pick 2 prizes. One of the physical prizes, and a downloadable game. The games that are available for gold members have been better the last two years than the physical platinum only prizes.
I pre-ordered my white one because every site was sold out of the black ones. Little did I know I could just walk up and buy one the day of the launch. Oh well. With my external hard drive hooked up, and lack of good games to download, I'm not too worried about it.
