Re: How To Prepare Your 3DS And Wii U For Retirement - Hard Drive, Battery, Backup Tips

I get shutting down the Wii U eshop (even though I don't like the idea), I get it. But I'll never understand closing down the 3DS eshop. There are sooo many games that will be lost, and not available anywhere else. Plus, the install base of people who have 3DS's is huge! Wii U, I get. 3DS just doesn't make sense to me. Just like in 10 years when they shut down the Switch eshop. We'll be having this same discussion.

(I know no one will see this now lol) I just picked this up during the sale, and I can't believe it took me this long to find this game. It's everything I love in JRPG's. I've been playing my 3DS more this weekend than I have my Switch and PS5 in a month, combined. There's so many great games on the 3DS that need to be preserved. Anyway, if this goes on sale again, I highly recommend picking this up. But it's also worth the $40 on the eShop too.

I think it depends if you grew up with these games or not? If you were born in the N64 or Gamecube era, then yeah, a lot of the NES and SNES games probably aren't good or you don't care about them. I'll use Ice Hockey as an example, since Kit used that as an example. I bought that game brand new when it came out (still have it), and my friends and I played that game nonstop. It was was/is a lot of fun. I'm nostalgic for that game. And that's a lot of what Nintendo still does. Plays off nostalgia for people who grew up with the NES and SNES. Do I think they need to do that same kind of service for people who grew up with Gamecube or DS or GBA? Absolutely! But that's one reason I'll always choose Nintendo over Sony, is because Nintendo still pays homage to their past.

I've been playing this off and on for the last couple years. I absolutely love this game, and just because it looks the same as it did on the PS1 doesn't make it bad. In fact, I'm glad it's basically the same game. That's what I want to play, and it looks great! I might've started this on the PS1, but I'm going to finish it on the Switch.

I am really happy this is on Switch. If I didn't have a PS5 (or 4) I would buy this in a second, because it's the best baseball game franchise out there. But I do have a PS5, and after seeing this trailer, I'll be buying this on the PS5. But I'm happy it's here.

Re: Sega Is Exiting The Japanese Amusement Arcade Business After Half A Century

I grew up in Elkhart Indiana. We had a pretty nice mall back in the 80's and 90's. We had an Aladdin's Castle arcade, and that's where I feel in love with arcade games, but it closed in the late 80's, early 90's, but then a year or so later the mall got a "Sega Time Out" arcade. It was a complete 180 feel than Aladdin's. It was bright, lots of games for kids, "retro games" (even for 1992) towards the back, but up front were the latest games. That's where I fell in love with playing Street Fighter II (and all the variations.) I have no idea how closely these American "Sega" arcades are tied to the Japanese arcades, but I have a lot of good memories from the one in my small hometown. It lasted until well into the 2000's too. Much longer than most of the other stores in the mall.

Re: Hardware Review: Game & Watch: The Legend Of Zelda - A Link To Link's Past

I'm picking mine up this afternoon. Even though I've played all these games dozens of times, from the original hardware to the many times they've been on Virtual Console or mini's, I'm looking forward to playing them again. If Nintendo isn't going to make any more "classic" mini systems, (GB or N64), I hope they continue to make these Game & Watch's periodically. I'd like to see a Metroid one or maybe a celebration of Donkey Kong?
