Re: Review: Chibi-Robo (GameCube) - A Charming Game About An Altruistic Robot Or A Shambolic Scavenger Hunt?

Cue people responding to comments from 16 years ago by people that don’t even read NL anymore or tagging a critic that hasn’t written for NL in 15 years 🤪

Only half joking.
Really enjoying this game so far. I missed my chance with a €80 copy a few years ago so I’m glad it hit NSO. Please let the overly expensive GCN games continue coming. Gotcha Force, Skies of Arcadia and Mario Super Sluggers next please.

Re: Sony Acquires 2.5% Stake In Bandai Namco As Part Of New "Strategic Partnership"

@MasterGraveheart this didn’t happen when Sony invested in Epic Games stakes, neither in From Software stakes and in case of Square Enix stakes the exclusivity happened because Sony paid for partial development in the FF7R trilogy.

This won’t happen with Bandai either unless Sony outright buys exclusivity for a game which would’ve happened regardless of being a stake owner.

@Aventurier this wasn’t a thing when I posted my comment 5 years ago 🙂

Edit: also my comment 5 years ago was about official releases. But regardless the homebrew ports weren’t a thing in 2020 either.

Re: Talking Point: With Bigger GameCube File Sizes, Should Nintendo Let Us Download Individual NSO Games?

darkswabber

They should atleast let us select regional versions to download. The reason the app is so bloated is because it downloads both the PAL and NTSC versions doubling its size.

This would make sense for something like Luigi’s Mansion where the extra mansion is completely different between regions but not for something like mario strikers where only the languages available differ.

@N00BiSH Nintendo hasn’t credited music artists in a few games now, didn’t credit the original developers in several of their remakes and remasters and doesn’t credit the musicians for Nintendo Music.
Also according to Nintendo their philosophy is the game soundtracks should speak for themselves, not the talent behind them.

@mikegamer while I agree that LaD should always be experienced in Japanese I don’t think it “objectively” ruins it, people can prefer dubs over subs and are well in their right to do so.

Also “part of the problem”? What problem? Almost every Japanese game these days has the option to be played in Japanese alongside the dubs. It’s not like the demand for dubs is causing a removal of the Japanese original.
