Re: Feature: 7 Reasons For Picking Starter Pokémon, But How Do You Pick Yours?

darkswabber

I tend to not use starters anymore and rather go for a team of new mons or regional forms and in case of a replay or remake go for a team I’ve never used before, preferably stuff I don’t like so I grow to appreciate the mons.

But I pick my starter usually based on the cutest base stage. Once I get to the daycare I breed and trade them with friends right away anyway.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Keeps Elden Ring And Switch At Bay In The UK Charts

@Jey887 people need to stop saying racing sims and arcade racers are niche. Like horror games they where huge during gen 5 and 6, disappeared durinh gen 7 and made a comeback last gen. Forza Horizon 5 sold over 10 million copies and GT7 will definitely so the same. The genre isn’t niche, it’s back from the death.

Rant over lol.

EDIT: lol I think you meant SRPGs and not racing games. My bad, sorry.

Re: Talking Point: How's Your Switch Holding Up After 5 Years?

darkswabber

Bought mine on launch day, bought my 60th physical switch game last week, put well over 4000 hours into it in those 5 years, it’s probably one of my favorite consoles alongside the psvita and ps5.

The only negative is I got 2 drifting left joy-cons and the third one is showing signs if drifting since a few weeks.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 5th)

Playing tokyo mirage session #FE encore on the switch after I dropped the wiiU version about 3 years ago.
Also some races in forza horizon 5 on the XSX.

Beat bravely default on the 3ds yesterday and it was absolutely amazing. Can’t wait to play bravely second and bravely default 2.

No ps5 this weekend.

Re: PSA: Don't Let This Pokémon Legends: Arceus Softlock Catch You Out

@Screen this is the first time I hear of a PLA bug, as opposed to the sheer amount of BDSP bugs, especially pre launch update. PLA runs just fine from the cartridge, BDSP is literally unplayable, misses content, has a bad translation, misses the intro and opening and has a placeholder soundtrack when played straight from the cartridge pre updates.

I actually just managed to beat mass effect 1 and 2 without ever havinh been spoiled. And I’ve been active on gaming forums since before they released. I agree with the people saying it’s a spoiler, more and more apps and websites support spoiler tagging so it’s becoming less of an internet issue and more of a decency issue. If you can avoid spoilers just avoid them or spoiler tag them and don’t be a jerk saying “well game is old so it’s your own fault for now playing it”, not everyone is your age, not everyone has been a fan of the genre, not everyone knew they liled a series, not everyone had the time or priority to play it and not everyone knows wether they will ever end up playing a game.

Re: Review: Kingdom Hearts - HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix - Cloud Version - The Worst Way To Play These Games

darkswabber

@Matty1988 except the difference is zelda is not a series where you need to play all spin offs to understand or follow the story and zelda isn’t spread over 2 console manufacturers and 2 phone manufacturers.
Not counting rereleases there’s 3 KH games on nintendo devices, 1 on nokia phones, 1 on smart phones and all the others are on PlayStation.

EDIT: keep in mind all of these are maingames when it comes to story understanding.

Re: Best Pokémon Games Of All Time

I see people are review bombing arceus already. When this article was bumped back to the mainpage today arceus stood at spot 2 with a 9,2/10. It’s still 2nd but now suddenly is 8,9/10. I’ll give it a week before it’s out if the top 10 and has dropped below 7,5/10.

Re: Popular Video Game Music YouTube Channel Receives 1,300 Copyright Claims From Nintendo

@SuperZeldaFun gilvasunner rips the files from games himself. He’s been doing that as long as YT has existed as he’s one of the OG youtubers. People making him out as malicious don’t even know who he is it seems. It’s not like he just started doing these uploads as he has been doing it, non profit, for over 10 years before the first take down on his channel in 2020.

Re: Video: We Tried To Convince A PS5 Fanboy To Get The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack

Multiplatform is the way to go, always. I have every nintendo console and handheld except for the SNES and virtual boy, I have all 7 playstation consoles and handhelds and I have the og Xbox, the X360 and a Xbox Series X. Couldn’t be happier. (Also have a dreamcast, mega drive and CD-i. Still want a saturn, master system, neo geo pocket, neo geo, gamegear, atari jaguar, wonderswan and Nokia Ngage.)

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 8th)

Lost judgment (ps5) - great game so far. Planning on finishing up the yakuza series this year, besides this one I only have 5, 6, LaD and dead souls left. I also include fist of the north star which I already played.

Forza horizon 5 (XSX) - got the forza controller for Xmas from my brother which is a good excuse to get back into the game.

Pokemon shield + brilliant diamond (NS) - just shiny hunting.

Re: Best Of 2021: We Worked Out The Best Zelda Game Once And For All, Using Maths

darkswabber

@MichaelP famitsu gave it a 40/40 which sparked controversy back in the day. It’s a reference to that. Famitsu and western game outlets often don’t align as some of the most praised games in the west get a measly 25/40 and some of the most mediocre games in the west get a 40/40. (Keep in mind famitsu basically has 4 critics review each game with an X/10 and they combine the scores to a X/40.)

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Year In Review - Our Stats And Most Played Games

darkswabber

I clocked about 400 hours on my switch this year but I’ve probably clocked another 100 on my XSX (which I bought in october) and about 1000 on my ps5. Also probably another 100 on my ps3 and another 100 on the 3ds, wiiU, ps2, psp, psvita, dreamcast, gamecube and gba.

Ended up beating 56 games and counting this year. (not counting the games I dropped this year near their end, about 10 games)
Will probably end up beating 59 or 60 games total.
