This company has always been really fishy to me. Their weird push of the NFT like collection database in their app for these mostly ugly designs is so odd.
Not to mention their customer service is god awful. I bought a Deck, played 2 hours with it, and decided it wasn’t for me. With everything including box and paper work still pristine, they told me I couldn’t return it because it was scanned in the app already (?). What does that even mean, I have to assume that was an employee mistake.
My personal favorite has always been the Mario and Luigi style, particularly Dream Team. Brothership looks beautiful in game but I think the renders seem a little off.
Illumination Mario doesn’t get enough love. I love how they retained the look of Mario but gave him more of a grounded softer look.
This could potentially be very intresting. I enjoyed the original one enough, personally about a 7/10 in my eyes. It def lacked a bit of the charm Banjo had and the movement felt off, but it looks like some problems were addressed here. I really think Playtonic showed their strength with Impossible Lair. That was a great title to fill the DK fix.
Usually I couldn’t care less, but it was really jarring how Amy just doesn’t act like Amy at all. I do also miss more of the comedic slapstick too but nothing for me to go out and complain.
Yeah, I think that's actually a pretty decent trade off for 1080p. Would have loved a performance mode option with 720p in handheld running at 60fps tho.
The only thing I think this era of the Turtles has going for me is the art style (at times) can look pretty stunning, and the voice actors. Other than that I hate everything about it.
Love how people are mad and let down by something that obviously was going to be what it says it is (shocker I know), a play test. This is a proof of concept for an actual audience so they can build it out more and nothing more than that.
What Ninty SHOULD do is get Wayforward to do a remake of it with 2D, hand drawn visuals. Wayforward kills it at hand drawn art, and they have a great relationship with Nintendo. Also they have experience from making that Adventure Time Zelda 2 clone from the DS/3DS, which was suprisingly great.
@PineappleLake I don't know what 3DS game you have been playing but none have compared to this. Hell even look at what the 3DS titles of this series look like, they still use sprites.
The models, animations and vibrancy of colors here are amazing. You also have to take into account that Youtube really doesn't do these titles justice.
That motion sensing tech is pretty damn cool. It seems like a very high quality product that I might get eventually. Something that might be true though is that one person said they hate the noise associated with their alarms, so I don’t want to hate the music associated with these!
Also, I noticed that it says that if you sleep in bed with more than one person, then they recommend button mode. That kills the main feature of it for me lol. Regardless would like to put this on the home office desk or something.
Has anyone from the US had experience buying from ShopTo, and do they even ship to the US? Those prices are obviously super attractive compared to 59.99 so I was wondering what the deal was about that.
I’m confused by these comments. What did you people want/expect? The Switch has obviously been a huge success for Nintendo and people obviously love the platform, why not improve on that and make it not only greatly more powerful, but also improve on the actual hardware like what is being described.
All I wanted was more power and backwards compatibility, so I’m very excited. That screen looks like it will be really nice, too. I do wish the joycons got a little more of a redesign though in terms of ergonomics.
@Poodlestargenerica In no way was I snarky in my comment… but anyways, Mario Party Superstars gives you the option for how many turns, what board you want, what genre of mini games you want, and also other options like handicaps and bonus stars.
@Poodlestargenerica Wdym? They remade good Mario Party with the last title and was universally praised, and now they are combining the good from the new and old into a better experience.
Looks fun but sheesh that performance in the direct footage alone isn't a good sign. No reason it should be performing like that. I guess it is Outright Games tho.
For those wondering, this blocky digital figure line for Mario is actually LEGO's call, not Nintendo. The lead designer for this line has come out and said in an interview that Nintendo initially approached them with standard minifigs, but Lego instead wanted something new and different, and at the time wanted something that incorporated technology with play, so they thought Mario would be a good fit. I worked at a Lego retail store for two years, and they have sold decent, but people were always asking where the minifigs were. They know there is a demand there. My prediction with these is that they are going to move these digital figures to more of a Mario Kart line, and introduce a minifig line in 2026 as the new main line.
I think the karts are designed actually surprisingly well. I think the best looking are definitely the standard kart and DK's. Love the little Double Dash throw back there. Everything else is definitely aimed at children. I know I would've had fun with these as a kid, and my little cousins are excited for these. I personally grew up with the KNEX Mario Kart Wii sets, those were awesome.
@YoshiAngemon I used to LOVE those Knex Mario Kart sets. Scenery wise they weren't the best as is typical with Knex but damn they were so fun making a full circuit track.
I don't think people realize that these are a pair of Nike Jordans that are being fully customized. The price is more than fair when seeing the extent on how far they went with these in my opinion.
It's always interesting to me the limit people go with high end collectibles or merch. We love First 4 Figures and their 600 dollar statues but scoff at Lego or these.
@Lizuka 100 percent agree. LM2 tarnishes the first game and turned it into something that its not. Oddly enough I really did enjoy LM3, but still the first game just hit it out of the park. I get legit mad thinking we could have got the first Luigi's Mansion with the graphical fidelity of the 3rd game.
I feel like im in the minority here, but is anyone else not a fan of this game? It's way too linear, monotonous, and sometimes down right annoying. It feels like Luigi's Mansion got "New Super Mario Bros-ified".
@MontyCircus Couldn't be furthest from the truth lol. Having gone to the Hollywood one, which much smaller than this, the scope and detail alone is incredible.
@-wc- Jesus Christ. None of my arguments or points made here were false statements. Do some research before you start coming at me assuming im wrong with what I am saying. Stop trying to belittle me because you're older and are under the impression that 25 years isn't a long time. 25 years is enough time for people to realize that sets like this are going to be more expensive due to licensing fees, simple as that. Thats also a significant chunk of a company that's less than 100 years old, especially when considering the fact that they didn't even start originally producing plastic bricks.
My mistake for saying "Lego has always been" in comparison to the "since 1999". I guess you got me there (?), but I think it's pretty damn obvious people understand what I mean, since modern day Lego as we know it really hadnt got its start until then, but you for whatever reason feel the need to come at my throat over it.
@-wc- Lego has done licensing for 25 years and the price increase due to licensing was seen even in those first Star Wars sets back in 1999. Again, this aint anything new.
I assume you're going by the price per piece model, which does not always reign true. Your King Fischer example uses majority of very small pieces, which cost much less to produce than the bigger more complex molds you see in this set. It's highly dependent and not the best system to go by.
Don't get me wrong, licensing factors are 100 percent a thing, but they aren't as heavy as you might think they are. Disney has the heaviest licensing tax, especially on Star Wars, followed by Nintendo. This set if it had no licensing would be around 220-250. Lego always charges more for 2-1/3-1 builds due to the fact that the consumer gets more out of it, but also costs them more to pay their designers to make a multiple designs included in a set.
@tektite_captain 100 percent agree. People are seeming like this is a necessity. Lego has always been a higher end collectible/hobby for people who can afford it. This isn't anything new, and isn't any different from F4F.
Funny seeing non Lego fans/buyers in these posts complain about the price as if this is anything new. If you really wanna see outrageous pricing look at their Star Wars line.
Thing is I see multiple users in these comments complaining about these prices, but on posts about First 4 Figure statues they freak the hell out and have no problem paying those prices. Id much rather pay for Lego as you get much more of a satisfying experience out of it.
I think it looks absolutely fantastic. I would have wanted a little bit more leafs on the OoT version but that's an easy addition I can do on my own with spare pieces. Those minifigs are incredible, all new molds and everything which Im glad they did. Usually when they do these super specialized molds, more is on the way.
Eh. It looks decent enough. Visually It looks kinda nasty tho (that pop in, sheesh!)
Probably won't be picking up. The Sonic clone im looking forward to is Rollin Rascal by the Curiomatic team. Really enjoy the visuals in that and had a fun time with the demo, even tho it's still a bit far out. That one had some unique ideas presented in it and is far more momentum based rather than just "Hold X to Boost".
@KayFiOS Well I guess that's more your style if you don't care about the competitiveness side about it, so I cant really speak anything on that. For me I love speed runs and watching them, and seeing Nintendo lean into that in a more main stream sense is awesome. Multiplayer is a big time plus over that game, but with less actual challenges Id like to see it maybe 5 to 10 dollars cheaper. Who knows though, maybe more challenges are introduced through updates.
@KayFiOS The emulation quality in NES Remix was terrible and was if anything just a more fleshed out section of 9-Volts minigames from Wario Ware. It really wasn't anything special and there was only a few remixes, and even fewer that were actually cool. I think people are forgetting what that game actually was. This leans way more into the competitive scene than that did.
