At E3 last month, it was revealed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition would be coming to Nintendo Switch. We were told that the game would be arriving in "2019" but no exact dates have yet been provided - until now?
Czech retailer CZC has posted a listing for the game on its website, suggesting that it'll be launching on 24th September. That would make the release date a Tuesday - which isn't the most common of game launch days - so we're not entirely convinced, but that general time frame sounds like it could make sense.
As with any retailer listing, treat this simply as a rumour for now; an official release date announcement will no doubt come our way over the coming weeks or months. Until then, though, we can certainly hope that we'll be getting our hands on it as early as September - which is now only two months away.
Excited to play The Witcher 3 on your Switch? Do you think the release date could be correct, or just a load of nonsense? Share your thoughts with us down below.

As a general rule I try to get all my gaming news from Czechoslovakian websites that I Google translate, so this is great to hear.
The original Chinese retailer who initially leaked Witcher 3 on Switch also had September as its release date.
If it ends up being true then I'll be cancelling my pre-order and maybe picking it up later down the track. I have way too many games I'm already planning to buy in September.
I kinda hope not. September has no games coming out then /s
Seriously if they drop this this same month as DQXIS and everything else, they are sending it out to die.
I hope it's the same retailer who leak Metroid Prime Trilogy 😄
Hopefully a mistake. My wallet already on life support in Sept
Hopefully not September, but I'm going to Czech later for an update.
@Leuke witch(er) website will you Czech later? RumourLife?
Can anyone confirm if 1550 Kc is a full-priced release? I'm guessing it probably is.
@Supadav03 lmao!!!!
I'll echo the main sentiments here...I hope it's later for the well-being of my wallet and free time. Spyro Trilogy, Link's Awakening, DQ11SEoaEADE(hope that's right...). That's not even mentioning physical of Collection of Mana at the end of August and possibly Astral Chain. Also want to get Ni No Kuni some time. Oh, and I wanted to read through the Witcher books before playing and just finished book 2 of 5, but still need to read the short story collections in between. Have mercy please and do a November or December release!
All I know is that I am getting it!
Just a quick correction, Tuesday is usually the big release date for non-Nintendo games in North America. So it kind of is the most common game release date, at least around Canada/US
Ok now, no more september releases! I can't afford any more games!
@JHDK So, you're a time-traveller? Czechoslovakia hasn't been a thing for over 26 years now.
@citizenerased A typical, full-price game is 1799 czk.
60 euros seriously ? This is getting ridiculous
September? Seriously I won't have any money or free time that month
What's the deal with September being so crowded? Why aren't publishers spacing things out?
If true, this feels like a mistake. September is already ridiculously packed at the moment, reminds me of November 2017 but this time there's a Nintendo game present (Link's Awakening). Maybe the rumoured Switch Mini is releasing that month?
@sarcasmasquach Thanks! Still fully expecting this to be €60/$60 but if it's 50 like this price suggests, that'd be awesome.
September's lineup is beyond ridiculous. Like, holy crud, other months exist, people!
Thats nice. Since I am Czech does it mean Ill be the first person to get this game? What a privilege:) Also CZC is quite a reputable eshop over here so I choose to believe this heheh
That would be awesome!
@harouhiko It's not, the Metroid one was some small e-shop even gaming journalist in our country never heard of (I'm from Czech Republic). CZC is one of the bigest eletronics distributors.
September is my birthday month. All is going according to plan.
Releasing this in September would be setting it up for slaughter. October would make more sense IMO.
i think it might be a mistake plus September is way too pack with Switch games don't make it any more cluttered an October or December release would be perfect for The Witcher 3
Dang if this happens then Witcher 3 and DQ11 releases in the same week! What a time for RPG lovers! Switch is a monster machine and I love this monster machine!
In the poster Nintendo released post E3 it had The Witcher 3 as a Q4 release..
If I recall correctly, Nintendo's release calendar has it down for a Q4 release date, alongside Pokemon Sword and Shield, Luigi's Mansion 3, and Mario and Sonic Olympics, among others. Unless the port is ahead of schedule, that would rule out a September release.
EDIT: @Ninja84 beat me to it!
Already preordered, and was expecting an October or November release, but sooner is better for me
A Swiss retailer sets the game release on the 30.10.2019. For the greedy amount of 70 CHF.
@Ninja84 Nintendo put all the vague "2019" release games into the Q4 category. Think of it like a placeholder release date.
September is already packed so please no. The first week of November would be perfect for this.
@JHDK hahaha. Thanks for this comment! 😂
Pro tip from an actual Czech guy.
Don’t trust this.
Ugh, I hope not. That’s right around the same time as Dragon Quest XI, and I just can’t even if those two games come out at the same time.
I'm happy for Witcher fans, but I'm not really planning to pick this up anyway. I would rather save my dollars for games that are especially made for the Switch, like Fire Emblem.
@graysoncharles a lot of AAA third party games never even sell enough on nintendo platforms because, well....
The amount of people i saw complaining about the price and how the game should be half the price because it's late.....
That's what hurts third party support. And of course those games don't sell so they don't drop in price so people don't buy them....
Doom and skyrim sold ok but nowhere near as much as other platforms and wolfenstein 2 failed to reach a million sales, last i heard.
@citizenerased it's 60usd, in canada i paid 79.99 for this game on switch.
It's 100% true. But the game will only be released in September for Czechoslovakia and the languages will only support Czechoslovakian. Also little known fact that the Czechoslovakian version of the Switch is the only one region locked for that country.
Trust me, my uncle works for Nintendo of Czechoslovakia!
@Heavyarms55 There is no czechoslovakian language and there is no Czechoslovakia.
@BlackenedHalo Someone didn't get the joke.
@JHDK lol where you been the last 30 years?
