Still impressed this is coming to Switch, but, is it me or are the looks ... not that good?
I’ll await the reviews, if it plays good and looks ok I’ll double dip
Oh thank the gaming gods! Rumor was it was gonna land in Sept, with all the other awesome releases. Whew.
Edit - Is the embedded vid stuttering for anyone else?
Looks like Luigi’s mansion is gonna get back burnered by me. Since my birthday is in October this will be the perfect birthday game for me.
Still need to play this one. But, isn't a lot of the game a bunch of cutscenes. Seems like you'd want the best visuals for this game. I'll play this on xbox instead
Good, this is good to hear. I feel like the Nintendo Switch is at a crossroads and for the first time ever, more vulnerable than it's ever been since it launched.
With the catastrophic failure of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, the Switch has shown it's not a sure fire money making machine and there is a very legitimate chance that a failure like this could sink the entire platform and with it, possibly Nintendo itself.
I just pray to Mother Earth and the forest spirits that hopefully the Witcher 3 is a bonifide success and can help ease the pain of the failed Fire Emblem franchise to make any impact or do anything beyond fail on an epic scale.
@spurryitboi I’ve got it on PS4 Pro as well, looks stunning there. Same with Doom. But I’m double dipping on this as well (did on Doom) to have it portable, support the devs choice in bringing it to Switch, and because I have more ability to play Switch games in handheld than a game on my tv with the PS4 - father of two young tv commandos.
Just 2 days outside my gamers club from Best Buy. Looks like I will be preordering this one.
@Patron Troll much? Not sure what game you're looking at but Fire Emblem sold extremely well. Not as much in Japan but everywhere else it did.
some actual gameplay, it's actually looking better than I expected.

Here's 40 minutes of gameplay that do the game much better justice:

Looks surprisingly good to me!
EDIT: Ha, @friedtofu beat me by a 4 seconds.
@Patron
What alternative reality are we living in troll?
It's the second best selling game in the series, and looks like it will easily become the first
... what's wrong with the video? Major slideshow going on. Even when opening op YT directly...
Yes, it doesn’t look as good as on PS4 and One, obviously, but nevertheless: I’m impressed and will definitely get it on Switch if the framerate will be solid too. I also own the game on PS4 Pro, but couldn’t finish it. It may sound weird, but I find trophies/achievements to be extremely distracting. I’ve spent lots of hours into hunting down subquests instead of enjoying the main story, just because of the trophies. That won’t happen on Switch.
@citizenerased LOL great minds think alike
@Patron Uh FETH is already close to passing fates as the biggest selling FE game. Counting digital sales, FE was the biggest selling game in the world for 3 weeks. Awww mad because the Switch is doing so well? Go back to your PS4 and play uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I got nothing. You'll have to go to the cheap section, that's the last time anything good came to the PS4. Days Done? Ha ha ha! Forget it.
So many announcements, it's like the gaming season is back.
Can't wait to finally play this one. Portability for an RPG is huge to me.
@michellelynn0976
Wow you two.should get married , two.trolls in a pod. Don't agree with what they said but plenty of great games on the ps4, so it just makes you a sad fanboy/troll as well.
Days gone was actually a lot better than the reviews made out. I just hate fanboys no matter the console
@suikoden Not nowadays. The PS4 has had some good games, but this year has been horrible. Troll? No, being honest.
@suikoden I am not a troll. Giving an honest opinion doesn't make me a troll ok? The PS4 had Horizon, that was the last great game I played on PS4.
@Mauzuri extreme gore? I don't remember much gore in it at all...
A wise decision considering how full September is, plus it's far enough away from the release of Luigi's Mansion 3.
Oh my... Too many games! 😫
Already preordered and am reading through the books in preparation. This will probably be wrapped up and waiting under my Christmas tree as a present to myself considering I'll likely be deep in DQ11, Link's Awakening, Spyro Trilogy, and the countless other games that release around this time. Seems like a good Winter game to me!
@michellelynn0976 I'll agree this year has been pretty slow for the PS4. The last big games I remember for the PS4 are spiderman and God of War
I mean, the game is replayable alright but I found higher difficulties extremely poorly made with sponge enemies OHKOing me most of the time, even with proper gear and level. Don’t think I’m gonna double dip for this one.
Dragon Quest IX is going to absorb me anyway around that time.
Hmm, right after the bday and I'm off that day. Well I guess I'll give geralt a go in more than just soul calibur.
I agree. I also love my PS4, but this year felt empty. There have been releases of some interesting niche JRPGs lately, but due to Sony’s weird new censorship policies, I don’t want to support them. I’m only hyped for that Granblue Fantasy RPG from Platinum Games. Still hoping for a Switch port though.
@Lando_
Just hoping the game is better than the anime , it was embarrassing, truly awful .The definition of cringeworthy
@Patron
What on earth are you talking about? Are you just writing random sentences?
@Patron but.....was fire emblem a failure? Pretty sure it knocked it outta the oark sales wise..
Either way, I'm on the fence about the wither. Looks really cool, but it seems like a game I would need to dedicate loads of time to which is an issue with all the games I'm eyeing over the next couple months. I may Still get it with how consumer friendly it is that they're putting the game on a cart with no extra download necessary. Good on them..
@Chunkboi79 I myself didn't really like Spiderman and GOW.
@Patron Fire Emblem was number #2 on the NPDs for entire month of July for the US without the digital sales. You knew that right?
Poor Luigi! Looks like he’s going to be waiting until I play this! I’m excited to play this game awesome news!
@citizenerased @FriedTofu I'm very impressed with how this appears to be running, having played it at launch on PS4 and some more on PRO.
I'll definitely be getting this and kudos for getting it all on one cart, it might be a bit blurry on the TV but should look great in handheld. I was one of those who said no way this would run on Switch and I'm happy to say I was wrong and now no developers have any excuse for not supporting Switch
I was hoping for October - great news!
The game looks phenomenal. Never got to play this game myself on PS4 but watched my wife a bit. She’s so excited to be able to play this handheld like she did Pokémon let’s go. Wish we waited just a few more months before spending the dough on the PS4 version. Glad we bought it physical so I can sell it. Now I’ll sell that one for PS4 and put it toward the coup de grace on Switch
So... never was a question if I was getting it or not. Spoiler alert. I am.
@carlos82 I've played a small portion on it PC, but since I commute alot I haven't been able to sit down and play anything. So switch handheld mode is the way to go! I forsure was a bit skeptical about how it would run and play, but looks to be running pretty solid.
@Patron’s entire Comments history is very, very strange
@Patron Catastrophic failure? What are you talking about?
First rule of Internet usage:
DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS
@Heavyarms55 @electrolite77
catastrophic failure
Lol lol rofl 🤣
Some people just live in their own realities.
Read this, it’s one of their previous comments:
Wow, what a short time at the top, almost pathetic really. This makes me really think this is the final nail in the coffin of the Fire Emblem franchise, getting whacked like a silly little boy so easily has to be a complete embarrassment. This, coupled with them hiring a disgusting pervert voice act-individual, this failure is one of the biggest stories of the year --- not just in video games either, it's really the most newsworthy thing happening right now. My only concern here is that this sinking Fire Emblem ship doesn't take Nintendo down with it.
Lol lol 😂 😂 😂
It’s not even worth responding to. I’m not even saying this sarcastically, but it’s genuinely been a while since I’ve laughed this hard 😂 The game was already the #2 best selling game in the franchise after just 1 week of sales data, right behind Awakening at 2.24 mil. Switch games typically double their launch window sales over their lifetime. If it was around 2 mil for launch sales (which is almost beyond doubt given the high physical sales which are still going strong, sold out 3 times on Amazon and still #17 on their Best Sellers list, and the fact it’s still #1 on the eShop nearly a month out), it’s on track to break 4 million copies sold before this generation is done, making it not only the best selling game in the entire 20 year franchise history but one of the best selling games on the Nintendo switch full stop.
“Catastrophic failure” lol lol. Not just a failure, catastrophic failure 😁 Bring Nintendo down with it lol lol
I passed on this for $20 in the last PSN sale so I could get it on Switch. Hopefully it will be the same price for the Switch, other wise I am not interested in paying Nintendo's greedy Switch Tax.
@JaxonH What planet does this person live on? And they heard about that voice actor but somehow didn't realize that he has since been replaced, his lines and credit are all getting removed and replaced.
There are literally hundreds of games out there, maybe thousands, that wish they could have "catastrophic failures" like Fire Emblem Three Houses did.
@Tasuki Yeah, it's gonna be fully price. No doubt. I don't know why you think there would be any chance of it getting ported, with all the DLC and costing 20 dollars. At absolute best, it might be 50 dollars instead of 60. But I seriously doubt that.
@Patron Are you still on that Fire Emblem stuff? Get over it!
And stop living in a world of idiotic agendas …
On the main point now … The entirety of Switcher 3 that is with all DLCs on the 32GB cart deserves the full price!
Wow did you guys never hear of the phrase 'don't feed the trolls'? Stop being so gullible!
@Tasuki
Give it a rest. There’s no way a developer is going to put the work in to port this to the Switch, including all the DLC, then put it on the biggest physical cartridge available, and sell it for $20. Not in the real world.
@michellelynn0976 Im surprised those were some stellar games, I don't ever think a game captured the feeling of spiderman as much as that one.
@friendly It's not just you, I'm impressed it's coming over, but those graphics make me want to just play it elsewhere. I've not played the game so if I ever get it I'll probably just do PC/PS4 if the finalized graphics look close to the choppy and dullness I saw from the trailer. Also I'm a big nintendo fan so I'm not just trying to troll I have more switch games than I've had for any other nintendo console, but I just feel that kind of game you should enjoy with really nice graphics.
Day one for me. This game looks awesome.
@Chunkboi79 I'm happy you liked them. For me, Spiderman had some big pacing issues. GOW was repetitive. The enemies were boring and the bosses had no variety and too much button timing for my taste.
@michellelynn0976 fair enough. I can see your point on God of War. There really wasn't a huge variety of enemies.
@Chunkboi79 I know, but not nust that. It was the fact that you didn't need to use a lot of skill or variety to kill the enemies. Ugh
