The Guacamelee! One-Two Punch Collection, a physical bundle including both Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition and Guacamelee! 2, launches today on Nintendo Switch.
At present, you'll only be able to pick up the bundle from North American retailers, but fear not: a European release is "coming soon". The new collection includes the following:
- All DLC for both games
- Exclusive 2-sided poster
- Complete instruction manual
- Download codes for two soundtracks
You can go ahead and grab a copy from Amazon as we speak for $39.99; buying both games separately on the Switch eShop would cost $34.98, so the extra cost isn't too much when you consider how pricey some physical Switch games can be.
You can read our reviews for both titles here and here if you're interested in learning more before you buy. Spoilers: we think they're both pretty great.

I have had this pre-ordered for a long time, glad it's finally out.
Great games! If you like metroidvania and colourful games and you have somehow missed this, I highly recommend them. There's also a combat system that's quite a lot like Smash Bros which is surprisingly fun.
So a European release is happening after all eh?
No matter, I've had the US release pre-ordered from 365 Games for some time now and I'm very much looking forward to them arriving.
Also glad to hear that both games appear to be DLC complete on game card, for a while I thought that the second game may've required additional DLC downloads.
These games are so so good! Definitely must plays, I'm sure they run great on Switch!
@Pablo17 same here. Mine shipped yesterday and I had completely forgotten about it!
Whoa, I need this. Enjoyed the first one very much.
So this is a regular non-limited release? If that’s the case, I’ll probably pick it up when it comes to Europe.
I was under the impression this was a [put a limited release company name here], so glad to know people will have the chance to pay for the game and no shipping or exclusivity taxes. Anyway, I already have the first on Wii U and plan to play it there. So at this point I will get Guacamelee 2 digital when it's insanely cheap, as I did with the first one. That's what happens when physical releases come later.
Nice. I loved the first game on Wii-U. So I may pick up the physical collection.
@Moroboshi876 Simultaneous physical/digital releases aren't always possible for a lot of these smaller devs.
@Indielink I know, but we as customers have to make a decision, and they may as well just say "not now, but we're planning on a physical release in the future". That's giving a choice. But for people to pay for the digital version in order to let others benefit from a future retail version is a little unfair. It's classical early adopters' punishment.
As I own them both already on Steam, Ive been waiting for this to double dip. Huge fan of both. Of course Im broke atm, and even if I wasnt, Metal Wolf Chaos is out. DARN YOU GAMES!!!! Too much good stuff. What a fantastic problem.
This is the game that changed it all for me. I bought Guacamelee 1&2 off Eshop and 16 hours later it was announced that physical copies where on the way. Since then i haven't bought a digital only games for at least 6 months after launch and only if it was on sell. Thank you Guacamelee One Two Punch you have saved me tons of money and added tons of previously digital only games to my physical game collection. Oh yea and my backlog thanks you too.
I remember hearing about these games on the Vita years ago and wanting to try them but never did. My copy will be arriving today, it's nice to add another multiplayer platformer to the Switch library.
If I didn't have both already on PC and switch (first on Xbox one, Wii U and vita as well) then would be all over this. Couldn't recommend these enough.
@Moroboshi876 it was insanely cheap a few times already. The dlc is cheap also but for 40 bucks the two games are definitely worth it. I have the first one on my PS4 and WiiU. Love it. It's a great metroidvania along with some humourous stuff in it.
I feel dumb buying them digitally and physical
@BacklogBlues Yeah, for me it was Steamworld Dig 2. Bought it digital and then the physical version came along. Now I only buy digital when the deal is just insanely great.
Can’t wait to pick this up tonight. Just completed the 2nd island in DQ Builders 2 and I think I need a little break.
@Dirty0814 I know, I didn't say anything that contradicts what you say. I love the first game. Don't have any DLC though. Didn't even know Guacamelee 1 had one. Is it available on Wii U?
Yea it's the super turbo championship edition. It's like 14.99 USD. Honestly I prefer the WiiU edition over any other platforms editions myself. Haven't played the switch edition yet, I've been waiting for this double pack to come out to buy them.
This physical release for $40 or less is really worth it. I used to play the soundtrack from the first game all the time. The music is really good, as are the games!
@RupeeClock Sorry to break your bubble, but on the Switch cart, the DLC for Guacamelee! 2 is not included. Instead a voucher to download these are included. On PS4, everything is included on the disc though.
Real pity they weren't able to solve this, as others have distributed Switch games with DLC on cart without any issue. Oh well, at least the base games are on the cart in their entirety, which is the most important part.
Anyone know if guac 1 works with 1/2 a joycon for multi player? I know the digital version that didn't work and it stopped me from buying it. Hoping they fixed it in this version.
@NicolausCamp Bummer! Thanks for the info, though.
Nice little package. This will be a double dip in the first, but I've held off on 2 for this. The inclusion of a manual is so cool.
Got the physical version, for some reason, Nintendo rewards doesn't allow me to redeem the free gold coins...
