Re: Nintendo's Out To Get $4,500,000 In Damages From Ongoing Switch Piracy Case

They'll have to stick to the argument that each pirated game would have been a game sold, for future cases. The easier technology makes it to play pirated games, the easier people will succumb to playing games that way. If precedent is set that a pirated game equals 10% of its value (arguing that people would never have bought the same amount of games at their "real" price) then it just becomes a math equation to pirates and the problem will become bigger.

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Switch 2 Rating Spotted Online

I'm very interested in picking this up, if the port is solid. I'm loving Outlaws, the Snowdrop engine runs nicely on S2 with great lighting, only the hair looks bad. But this game runs on Anvil, I think the only Anvil game on Switch was Immortals Fenyx Rising. So let's hope they managed to get the latest version of Anvil running just as well on S2 as they did with Snowdrop.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 For Switch?

I'm a bit disappointed in how Nintendo approached these games in the post-Switch 2 era. To port them to Switch 1 and have a little upgrade pack for Switch 2 means the potential of a truly beautiful remaster is off the table. Highlighted by the fact they didn't mention the Switch 2 upgrade in the direct. I see little love put into these wonderful games. That, combined with the price, is dampening my excitement.

Re: Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 Prices Are Live, And It's Sticker Shock Time

What I missed (and would have softened the news of the price) was them showing how they improved the graphics. It looked just fine, but especially a Switch 2 version could (and should) have much nicer graphics than what we saw here. And extra pages in the book?? Do they imagine us at home cheering for that little bullet point?

Re: Beat 'Em Up Classic Double Dragon Gets A Modern Revival On Switch This October

@MontyCircus

I get your point and that is indeed how we referred to beat 'em ups back then, as "Double Dragon"-likes. But the term "beat 'em up" was defintely used as well. I just re-read the Mean Machines preview of Final Fight on the Super Famicom, from January 1991, and it uses the term. They used the term in their first issue, from 1990, just 3 years after Double Dragon was released.

Re: SEGA Reports Drop In Revenues Amid Sonic Series Successes

It will surely pick up, with how popular those movies are. I just wish for an update on the revivals of Shinobi, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Streets of Rage & Golden Axe. Them acknowledging there's more to sega than Sonic and Yakuza gives hope to old fans. But I'm not sure how well modern audiences without nostalgia for them will react.

Re: Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For Major Upcoming Switch Games

Metroid for me, Xenoblade and Pokémon are not my jam. Surely the list will grow with Switch 2 exclusive launch titles (Mario Kart and a 3D Mario, hopefully an Ocarina of Time remake). And those exclusives will have to show the difference in graphical power, MK looked intriguing, but not that far removed from what the current Switch can do. Sure, 24 karts, bigger environments. But I want some eyecandy!

Re: Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown Has Received A New Update On Switch

Good to hear this indeed. I'm still playing & very much enjoying the game, but had plenty of these bugs slightly ruining the experience. Plus some bugs that are not listed here - for example, in the first one mentioned here, the pirate king side quest, Sargon froze in place after accepting it. Had to restart and press the dialog history at the same time as accepting to solve that.
