As regular readers will know, every weekend we post a write-up of the games Team Nintendo Life will be playing in our spare time. As you'll also likely know, this week saw the release of a pretty major Nintendo game, and you can probably guess where this week's entries are headed. So, please accept our apologies for the incredibly obvious games we've picked this time around, and feel free to join in with our poll and comment sections below. Enjoy!

All gathered 'round the TV, a brisk winter evening. Tournaments. brackets. You all know the setup. Choose your character, strength and weakness. No do-overs, second chances and definitely no Johns. Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat, last-second heroics or one silly mistake. The victor, the spoils, the should have, could have, or would have been. On the outside its all for fun but deep down we yearn, crave and long for glory. There's no use hiding it. This weekend I will be playing... Wii Sports Tennis.
Ryan Craddock, staff writer
This weekend - as I'm sure we'll all agree - is an utterly glorious one, and one that I'll be using to finally scratch an itch I've had for the last few months. As gaming fans, most of us will be familiar with that excited feeling of waiting for the post to arrive, or that moment when cash exchanges hands at the store checkout, and you can finally hold that precious game you've been waiting for.
From its incredible collection of characters to its gorgeous design, and from its multiplayer perfection to its amazing amiibo implementation, this game really has it all and I can't wait to get stuck in. That's right folks, the game I'll be playing all weekend - and for weeks to come, I'm sure - is Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival.

With so many fantastic options, picking what to play should be a toughie, but this weekend there’s really no competition. The mere whisper of the title is sure to evoke strong emotions and unforgettable memories in any loyal Nintendo fan. The multiplayer fun it’s given gamers over the years is incalculable; it’s one of those rare games that absolutely anyone can pick up and play, and it’s been an internet favourite ever since that E3 reveal set tongues wagging. Yep, apologies to be ‘Captain Obvious’ but this weekend I’ll be firing up an absolute doozy – you guessed it! – Wii Music. Whaddagame!

This weekend, I’ll be getting my Nintendo Versus gaming ON with one of the Switch’s biggest crossovers! The only other version of this game that I’ve experienced was on 3DS, so I am pumped to get back into this series with HD graphics & new stages to battle it out on. The most exciting thing I’m looking forward to is the competitive multiplayer action, so I can knock all of my friends around a bit as well. The improved graphics and technical performance are just icing on the cake. I honestly don’t think I’ll need any other games on the Switch, ever. This one completes me. Well, see ya on the Aqua Moto Racing Utopia leaderboards, suckers!

My main for many years now has been Link. Out of all the Nintendo characters, in my opinion, he’s always been the most all-round fighter there is. That trademark spin-attack, the unlimited bombs he has at his disposal and his trusty bow and arrows always deliver the final blow - not to mention the fact he’s saved the land of Hyrule on multiple occasions over the past few decades. How could you not be impressed? That’s why this weekend, I’ll be defeating evil in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Link’s grandest adventure yet. He’s my hero of all-time and always will be.
Steve Bowling, US editor
What am I playing? Same thing as everyone else, obviously! I'll be grabbing some friends, gathering around the screen for the same intense, pulse-pounding experience as the rest of you. My heart races just thinking of the crazy, chaotic rounds I'll be running this weekend. I've been waiting so long for this moment. I just hope nobody snags my main since I'm a little possessive. I can't wait to take it to the competition with Bishnu in Astro Bears Party!
...What?

Since there are no major Switch game releases this week (ahem) I have decided to put mine away and hook up my trusty Nintendo 64 instead. I’ve had this craving for some smashing action for a while now so I dug up one of my all-time favourite fighting games on the system. That’s right, you probably have already guessed which game I’m talking about since there weren’t that many to begin with: Flying Dragon!
Developed by Culture Brain and part of the Hiryū no Ken series, this little gem was rightfully described by N64 Magazine as “our very own Tekken”. It was no easy feat to keep the charming nature of the super-deformed 2D sprites but they pulled it off. And if someone is giving you lip because the SD characters look too immature, just switch to ‘Virtual’ mode and the roster turns into realistically proportioned humans. It has aged rather well and this is how I will blissfully be spending this weekend.
Alan Lopez, contributing writer
When I originally read that they were adding even more models to an already robust lineup, I had to stop and ask myself how any one video game could ever get this big. Honestly, how do they fit it all inside that cartridge?
I mean, sure, the Pasaat line is a given, and the Jettas were a strong likelihood, but the attention to detail to surprise announce both the Scirocco and Golf Mk lines of Volkswagens displays such a love for fan sentiment, there’s no doubt in my mind Beetle Adventure Racing! is the greatest franchise-based video game ever made. Finding all the branching paths and crashing into each crate will definitely be taking up my entire weekend. There’s no guarantees the weekend after that is safe either.
And did I mention my friend let me borrow his rumble pack? I’m stoked. “Das Auto” is now DAS game.

Erm... SMASH!
With the kids
Hilarious.
Thank you, Nxt.
Smash, but also Sega Genesis Classics.
Ultra Slam Sisters.
Smash Bros. What else? Seriously
Considering I'll only be picking up smash next week, I'll be playing Let's Go
I'm trying to play Smash but being new to the SSB world I'm finding it quite overwhelming so will be switching to Diablo 3 when I need to relax.
Dead Cells for me.
Brothers getting smashed at the super ultimate party.
Great article!😂
Smash and also Sega Genesis Classics, the two Christmas gifts I bought myself!
I'm playing Smash. I unlocked all fighters yesterday, so today I'm going to go online.
I tried, but I've not been able to get into Smash. I guess I'm old school. Not a problem though, I'll be playing my Street fighter 30th anniversary collection. Also, Crash 'n sane trilogy, just to celebrate that Crash team racing is coming to Switch
World of light.
Obvs SMASH! ... Oh and Alan Wake, Killer Instinct and Metroid 3 ;p
Katamari Damashi
@Medic_alert your telling me dood it's ridiculous lol
‘Other’ winning at the moment lol
skyrim and probably randomized pokemon platinum
Still waiting on Smash to arrive so playing Yoshis Woolly World to relax while I wait.
Was meant to play Yokai Watch 3, but the delivery company messed up hard and I won't be getting it until monday, so it's going to be My Hero One's Justice for now.
When you can't get Smash Ultimate because my Pre-Order said it is due to arrive in 6 months. Now, I've gotta beg people at Christmas
Is smash out? I didn’t realise.
Just Smash. All Smash, all the time.
At least this weekend!
Am playing through Breath of the Wild so that's taking up a lot of time. Part of me really enjoys it and part of me gets really irritated with the game. Think I would have preferred a more traditional Zelda game.
An obvious answer to this question is...1-2-Switch!
Smash and Okami HD. I'll give Smash a blast, but I'm 15 hours into Okami and want to carry on making progress.
Smash and xenoblade dlc😁
Back into Bravely Second; but may open up my Raijin RXN and give that a play. Need some new shm’up action.
I will be playing the game of the year God of War!!!
Won't be getting Smash until Christmas, so this weekend i'm going to try and finish Dark Souls.
Well, I was going to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but didn’t get a chance to go the post office yesterday to pick up my Limited Edition, and don’t think I’ll be able to go there today either. So I’ve decided to spend my gaming time on pushing through on Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag on PS4. Ho, ho, ho (and a bottle of rum).
Finish of treasure tracker, just got d3 with 30% off, might buy smash when it comes down a bit, to frantic for my liking
Okay I am playing Smash, but there is no reason some of us aren't playing Smash and other games as well, why not allow us to click both answers? Not everyone is a Smash FANATIC like Alex. Some of us are filthy casuals. I for one played Smash for much of last night, but then finished Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu today. Also playing some Hearthstone because there is a new expansion out, and a little Stardew Valley still.
Skyrim and ARMS.
Try to find time to finish Torna
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Smash
Not Smash, because my preorder of the limited edition hasn't arrived, yet
There is only one correct answer.
I am done with starlink (fun but it is way shorter than I was expecting as in under 25h I have completed the story, maxed fox and all upgrades I can without buying all dlc, I have some collectibles left but not much into that)
Now I am starting stick of truth that I got on the latest sale and I am waiting for my copy of the mega drive collection to arrive.
P.s:not a fighting games fan so smash is the easiest pass for me from Nintendo's collection
1. ARMS (Switch)

Join in Party Crash Event with Springman as my playable character. Already reached lv 24. 😊
2. Portal Knights (Switch)

Keep building my town in Creative Mode. 🏢🏡🌲
3. Youtube (Switch)

Watching some America's Next Top Model episodes, Dragon Quest Builders 1 & 2 gameplay.
@Medic_alert ahhh no way that sucks I could never part with my huge collection, mainly my Metroid collection ... I have so many boxes! Lol ... You have good luck re-collecting everything!
Smash, Warframe, Sega Classics, and need to start Abzu. Sorry XB1- no time this weekend. Warframe has replaced Destiny as my go-to game that I play every single day.
Katamari, Moonlighter & Celeste
Celebrating my son’s 7th Birthday today so no gaming today. Downloaded Smash last night so tomorrow we will have a Smash party. Need to continue in DarkSouls (alone), lego Incredibles (with my son), starlink (with my son) and MHGU (just started online play and got to HR2 last week)..... i think i need some vacation time and i need to stop buying games for a couple of weeks.
Smash Ultimate and Warframe lol. Mostly Smash though. I unlocked 8 fighters but died to a handful of unlockables due to falling off the stage haha. Two of those being “Ryu” and “Captain Falcon”......cries in corner
Yup, Super Smash Bros Ultimate is the main focus. I unlocked my main Peach so I’m ready to throw down.
Smashamari Bromacy.
I was excited when I woke up and remembered it’s only Saturday
Smash, let’s go, diablo and katamari
Smash of course. Plus I will be playing some Sega Genesis Classics. Does anybody know why the Monster World games were not included in the Switch version?
Pianista: The Legendaru Virtuoso. And maybe some Mariokart 8 Deluxe and Undertale.
I’ll be playing Smash Bros, baybeee!!! It’s so much fun!!
...and doing homework, haha. And I’m in a Christmas musical!
(So there might not be much time for Smash, heh... 😅)
Everyone have a safe, blessed weekend!
I'll be playing Dragon Ball Fighterz on Switch and Red Dead Redemption on PS4.
Why, Action 52 on my NES, of course!
Will get Smashed at some point but still playing Dark Souls and maybe enjoying it more than my first time through 5 years ago. Lost Izolith is underrated.
Playing Smash with my roommate who has obsessively played every main console Smash with me for days worth of hours each. Right thumb hurts from 7 hours straight fighting yesterday so I'll have to try and rest it for more Smash tonight....may load up Genesis classics though, been looking forward to that so much. Also got the Katamari Damacy demo to mess with and Risk (much easier set up than a IRL Risk board) on the Switch has been great fun, so maybe some of that as well.
Had to cancel my preorder for smash as money was tight the past couple weeks 😕. Ill grab it in the next couple weeks though. In the meantime, I'm almost done with resident evil revelations 2 ( maybe an hour left) , and then I'll get back into LA noire and Rayman legends
@CdrJameson Here’s what I did to get better. I did the training mode with a character I liked and just learned each one of their moves. Just in case you don’t know characters have 3 tilt moves as well. You can use them by gentle moving the analog stick up, down, or to the side and pressing A. Careful though, press the stick too hard and you’ll get a smash attack. Don’t forget to grab in smash either, and shielding and dodging are also good habits to have. Hope this helps
I should playing the copy of physical version of SSBU today, but the retailer in my country where I pre-ordered got delivery delayed until next week, and now i will play Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Smash is ordered, but will go into hiding until Christmas. Tons of games in the back log to keep me occupied!
1. Edge of Eternity. Amazing early access RPG (team of 9)
2. Anthem. I got accepted for the Alpha Test
I dont really play fighting games. It is a PC weekend. Switch/PS4 taking a break..
The best fighting game ever released for the Swiitch this week: Twinkle Star Sprites.
I’m saving Smash and Katamari for Christmas but I’ve just picked up the Sega Mega Drive collection. Playing Gunstar Heroes and Streets Of Rage for the first time is awesome.
It also feels so wrong yet so right using my 8bitdo SF30 SNES controller. But then Nintendo haven’t bothered to release any SNES games for Switch yet.
Sega do what Nintendon’t.
@SimplyCinnamon53 Thanks for the advice. This is pretty much how I approach all fighting games so I'm on the right track it seems. I'm really finding not falling off really hard though. For some reason all the CPU opponents fly right back up when I knock them off but I can't seem to do that.
It seemed like it should be quite simple to play from hearing how others have described the controls but it's a lot deeper than I thought it would be. It's a hell of a lot faster and harder than I thought it would be too!
@JoeDiddley I bought SEGA MD classics too. I'm struggling with Smash. Streets of Rage seems to be much more my thing! lol
Have Smash but also a ton of other games on my backlog that I would love to start and/or finish.
@wazlon have you played Okami HD yet?
Warframe totally took me by surprise. I’m smitten by the ultra slick visuals and the addictive gameplay. Not doing any multiplayer stuff, just solo slashin’ n blastin’. Great fun. So that’s me this weekend. Happy gaming!
Smash, and finally opening my PlayStation classic
I have Smash limited edition sitting there waiting to be wrapped for Christmas. My willpower is fading fast. At least I have Katamari Damacy Reroll to keep me company.
I played 16 hours of Smash in a 24-hour period. Truly an amazing game.
I also snagged a physical copy of Katamari Damacy Reroll, but it immediately got put on the back burner for a while. I didn’t want to miss my opportunity to get a physical game card.
Well I bought Popolocrois on 3ds Today since its on sale in the Eshop for 4.99 so it looks like I will be playing that along with some Resident evil Rail shooting on my Wii. I have really got into Rail shooters on Wii lately. Talk about a treasure trove of good fun for the Wii. I never knew all these years.
Added: yep thats Wii. Not WiiU lol.
Unlike most people on here I don't own Smash so won't be playing it and I'm totally fine with that!
Instead I have recently started YS VIII which I'm absolutely loving along with Spyro,Dragon Quest XII,Detroit Become Human on PS4 and Astrobot On PSVR.
Haha, loved the staff trolling above! I definitely appreciate it at any rate!
I'm one of the few not playing a certain fighter this weekend (still Switchless). Instead, I'll be continuing Golden Sun: The Lost Age at full force. My weekend is a busy one, so I'm not sure that I'll get to much else....
Smash, Katamari Damacy and Warframe.
I'll mostly be continuing my shiny hunt in Pokémon Let's Go.
Good god. There is so much of EVERYTHING in this game!!! I foresee many, many hours of my life vanishing into the Smash ether....Glory.
Also, I claimed MyNintendo coins for my pre-ordered physical game but Nintendo hasn’t emailed me a Piranha code. Is that not happening until closer to him being released in February? Did others get their codes?
Warframe and Smash.
Right now I'm still in the middle of playing Super Mario Party(doing Challenge Road) and Diablo 3 Eternal Collection.
I got Smash but I refuse to play it for now(and, nah, not because of Christmas; it's opened and in my game case, but I ain't starting it up).
@Mgene15 let me know what you think of it. Heard nothing but bad reviews but that was all from media outlets. Wondering what the consumer thinks of it.
After moving house a little over a month ago, I informed the NintendoUK Store that I had moved house and needed to change the delivery address. They said that they don't usually change addresses and that I would have to cancel all my preorders and reorder everything. Because the Smash Limited Edition with the Cube controller and adaptor had sold out, they would change the address this time.........They only went and sent it to my old house. The house that nobody lives in. The house that now has a delivery slip inside that I can't access so God knows when I'll get to play. I feel so low today. 😭 I think for me, I can at least be one of the few giving Katamari Demacy some love. 😊
Have just bought Smash to what's the hype is about. Only had a quick look but already excited to see my kids next weekend. Will have to start unlocking some characters this week for them. Should be loads of fun.
Watching Season 2 Mrs Maisel while Playing Smash Bros Ultimate
The Messenger, I’m dying my way up the tower of time for the first time...
We haven’t gotten Smash yet and I saw someone mention Street Fighter 30th and that sounds great to me I love me some SFIII third strike!
And maybe some Kamiko since I picked that up on sale along with the messenger.
Round it out by trying the Katamari demo!
Just received my physical copy today of Smash Bros. and plan to dive in on this after work.
Smash Bros in between Final Fantasy XIV
Well Smash obviously!
Moonlighter, Smash and Shining Resonance for me
@UmbrageHill good luck on the tower of time. There's some crazy difficulty spikes in the game. Tower of time is one of them. The boss was the hardest in the game for me that took me quite a few trys. But it's beatable. Kamiko was a fun little adventure and worth the price.
@TheBigK what shinys do you have so far? It's my favourite part of the game
Wii Music lol
@nintendobynature yeah I’m pretty sure I’ve died 50 times in the tower of time alone so far! Kamiko is my break time game from the messenger!
@SHULZ021 Could you please tell me if you can play the game offline only from the cartridge right from the start without the day one patch or any other updates.
Only if you can ofc.
What in the World? (WP) - Just a time killer here and there.
Fallout 3 (G4W) - Started watching a Let's Play.
Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series (Win 10) - Just started Episode 1 so far.
1 smash!!!
2 pokemon lets go
3 Katamari
4 kirby star allies
I know it was a joke in the article, but I actually will be playing Astro Bears Party, it is surprisingly fun for the price, just a little barebones.
Other than that, probably some Yoku, MM11, and Ultimate.
Smash! And a bit of Mario Kart if frustration sets in lol.
@CdrJameson Oh ok, well that’s good. I definitely get what you’re saying, what really helped me was looking up recovery videos for th character I liked. For example I like Samus, and I didn’t know her powerbombs work really well for recovery. Also some characters have a much better recovery than other, so you could try one of them if you like. I hope you get the hang of it, I’m still figuring it out too
@Benjoo I have a Caterpie and Rhydon at the moment, found those randomly when I was just wandering around. I'm currently in my first actual shiny hunt, looking for Nidoran Female. I'm about 7 hours in with the max shiny rate, nothing yet. It's turning into a bit of a slog.
I was planning to play Smash all weekend but it’s boring. I’ve never played it before so I just feel like I’m smashing buttons. There are no tutorials in the game and I have no idea what I’m doing. Nintendo designed this game with the assumption that everyone has been playing it since the 90s so there’s no point in teaching the basics. All the tutorials online are meant for people who already know how to play but want to learn how to be a world champion tourney player. I talk to people online about it and their typical response is “get good” but how can I do that when I dont even know the basics. I hate this game and wish I’d kept my money. I bought into the hype and I even bought the stupid amiibo. I was so excited. Oh well, guess I’m an idiot!
In between waiting for restaurants to close so I can scrummage for scraps, I am playing Smash, Katamari and Sega Megadrive Classics.
@Likethepear I'd say start with one character. Mario is a good all-around character. The game is very directional. All your attacks are A + direction (up or down or left or right), and your specials are B + direction. If you hold A + direction you will charge your attack making it more powerful. If you stick with one character you will start to get a feel for their moveset and strengths. And the game just grows in strategy and depth from there as you work in characters and other mechanics like dodging (RT + direction) and throws (R bumper to grab). Maybe that is helpful. I hope so. Because I love smash! If you find a friend or two you can pummel on as you learn together, that makes it all the more fun.
@Brumblescope Thanks, that’s actually more helpful than anything I’ve found online. Would it have killed Nintendo to put something like what you just wrote into the game for noobs like me? Am I really the only person who is new to this game?
Smash with my kiddos and Genesis collection and Dark Souls after-hours. What a great time to be a Nintendo gamer!😄
@TheBigK I actually have a spare shiny mankey if you want it. If your lets go eevee I could really do with an ekans for the dex. Of course I'll wait until your finished your hunt for shiny nido in case you break your combo.
@UmbrageHill hang in there, that was probabaly better than i did! 😆
@Likethepear Great! The game is huge, and at times its geared towards absolute chaos, (lots of items, explosions, unpredictable patterns of attack), but underneath all that there is beautiful core gameplay about movement and timing attacks. You could try doing a 3 or 4 person smash battle with no items to get the feel. Also, when you get knocked off the stage, you can double jump, and most characters B + up or B + right/left is designed to help them get back to the platform. Have fun!
@JoeDiddley for that SNES feel you can play Ultra Street Fighter II in classic mode or Megaman X-X3 on the Megaman X Legacy Collection. The Capcom Beatemups Bundle also includes several arcade games that ran nearly identical on SNES hardware.
Hopefully Nintendo gets us some Super Nintendo goodness through the online service for 2019, but it remains to be seen.
Smash and Katamari.
@Benjoo I can do that. I have Eevee, so I can get you an Ekans no problem. My dex is complete, too, so I can get you some other stuff if you need it. I'm taking a break from hunting at the moment, so my combo is already broken. Getting back up to 31 doesn't take long, anyway.
Ultimately Brothers Smashing.
The Keep on my glorious 2DS XL.
And Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links, Valkyrie Drive Bhikkhuni and RPG Maker MV.
Warframe - who needs
smash Bros. 😊
What are you, some kind of a NUT!? If I said anything other than super smash bros., I’d be subject to a public lashing. That being said I’m also playing Dark Souls. ::getting ready to run away from previous comment:: can I have a head start at least?
I'm playing that classic game of studying for finals. However, as soon as I get home Monday evening, I'm smashing for hours.
@TheBigK I'll add send my SW number on am appropriate forum and see if we can arrange something online. Cheers.
Monster boy and the cursed kingdom is what i'm playing on switch this week. Got to wait till xmas for smash lol.
Monster hunter GU
I’ll be playing some Cadash and Cybattler, possibly mixed in with some Salamander 2!
Playing Let’s Go Eevee. I still have to finish it. Not getting Smash until Christmas.
Showing my sister more of Night in the Woods, but not much other than that. Smash will have to wait a couple weeks so I can play it for the first time with my brother instead of being alone.
Also off topic but does anyone else think we need Reyn in Smash now that we have Joker?
Fire Emblem Warriors and AC Odyssey
Katamari on Switch and the Shadow of the Tomb Raider demo on PS4.
I guess Smash Bros is a bit like Marmite, you love it or hate it and I dont like Marmite. While I don't hate Smash I can see myself wanting to invest £50 in it either.
Monster boy looks OK but for what it is the price tag is to high, that's one for the bargain bin.
So here am I with money to spend and nothing grabbing me that I want to play. 😕
@nintendobynature I’ve enjoyed it, I was able to plug in a keyboard and up the performance of the emulation. Metal gear solid, final fantasy 7 and Tekken 3 are what I’ve played so far and my nostalgia goggles are on tight. The user interface is basic and simplistic which is what I actually like. The loading times are rough ha.
@Mgene15 nice, I figured it cant be as bad as people are making it out to be. I'd love to get in on some GTA, metal gear and resident evil
Many are playing mario tennis, just to play as the wining waluigi 😂😂🤣🤣
Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!
Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!
I want to at least GET to the Pokémon League before I decide to take a break from the game. XD
Super Smash Bros Ultimate
Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu
Genesis Collection
Katamari Damacy
Diablo 3
Civilization VI
Persona 5 Dancing
@goggles789 said : "I’ll be playing some Cadash and Cybattler, possibly mixed in with some Salamander 2!"
A man who has GOOD TASTE, definitely !
Sega Mega Drive Classics, Shinobi III on hard.
@Cobalt Haha, thanks! Gosh, a proper port of Cadash would be AMAZING.
Smash, Pokemon & genesis classics. It is nice that the editors don't want to tell us that they are playing smash this weekend.
Grip and Splatoon. I actually have no interest in Smash.
I've been playing Smash Bros. Ultimate and having fun with the game's physics and such, but, feel like it's broken. I want to play 2 vs. 2, and I rarely can. I learned from playing many many matches of Smash 4 Wii U that Free For All is for nobody but taunt parties, and I'll only face a 3 on 1 if I go into it, so, I never play that mode. Then the match goes on and you can't quit, and even once you lose, you still have to wait for the match to end. I'll be waiting for the time to run out on a 7 minute match with some trolls just standing around ducking over and over again. I'm feeling like Smash 4 Wii U was a better game.
There was an issue with shipping and they had to reship Smash. Unfortunately for me, this means waiting an extra week for it to get here.
So I'm just finishing off some of the games I needed to finish. Mostly just getting the last few gems/relics in Crash N-Sane Trilogy, running through Mega man 11, and casually attempting to get to the fun content in Warframe.
@Nintendo_Thumb said : " I'm feeling like Smash 4 Wii U was a better game."
Be careful dude... Here, when you talk about video games you have to bend to the "ultimate" rule :
_Everything on Switch is better than anything else...
I warn you because I'm used to that...
Amazing article lol
As far as what I'm playing this weekend? You already know the answer to that
@Likethepear I would also go in the training mode. It’s a great area to get a feel of the stages and practice moves. I’m pretty sure Smash has never had a tutorial, but the Prima guide may help.
Obviously it was Smash (and also Civ VI) but suddenly all is changed, now I'm playing 'NI no Kuni: The Jet-Black Mage,' finally the fan translation is released, and it's so awesome!
@Zuljaras Maybe since my Switch was already connected to WiFi it automatically patched it so I coudn't try it.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Darksiders III
My daughter has asked Santa for Smash, so now I have to wait nearly three weeks to play it! 😫
Omg sonic with rayman assist is so freaking hard on adventure mode! I’m going to have to take a different route!😱😆
Oh god this article is so good. Nice job, Nintendo Life!!! <3 <3 <3
Picking up smash bros in about 2 weeks so this weekend I'm playing Skyward Sword
I bought Smash but me and my friends didn't liked it. We gave it an one hour chance but we chneged very soon to the Mega Drive Classic Collection. Maybe not everyone is on the Smash hype train. All my other nerdies love it, but not us....
Katamari hasn't aged a day. Sniff sniff. Beautiful game. So happy it's on Switch. (I'm not crying, it's...raining.)
April came early this year
@bluesdance Or late, since the year is nearly over.
@EdScissorshands I've played Okami on Wii years ago. I did find the motion controls a bit awkward when using the paintbrush. Might give the HD version a try.
Didn’t make myself choose between Katamari and Smash. I got both, and now they get to take turns making me smile.
Still boycotting Nintendo Paywall, so playing Fortnite.
I am playing....music on my PC!
Smash of course.
@Nintendo_Thumb I agree that multiplayer on Smash 4 Wii U was better, but I am loving the single player and feel like its a major improvement. I have no idea what they were thinking with the online mode though. This was the one game where I was willing to pay for the online too. Hopefully they will fix it, but I am not sure.
What did I play this past weekend? Well, SSBU stats shows my total playtime at 22 hours so far. Total power on count is 1. So... I literally have not turned off smash since I got it
@Nintendo_Thumb @NIN10DOXD Despite absolutely adoring the game, and it will most definitely be my GOTY, It absolutely blows my mind that there is no competitive/For Glory mode like there was on Wii U. Further, the match "preferences" seem to rarely be taken into account for me, meaning that even when I pick 1v1, I most likely still get dropped into a free for all. Very frustrating and a huge step backwards in my opinion. For me, the local multiplayer more than makes up for my disappointment with online, but they had better fix online matchmaking/add competitive options.
