It's done in order to make it look like it's running on original hardware.

Black 2 and White 2 are by far the best and had the best graphics, content, and story.

I don't think this will come to 3DS or Wii U due to how early in development this appears to be in. I think this has a shot to being on any of Nintendo's next gen systems.
