Those of you who value your tooth enamel, look away now - Japanese candy maker Nobel is releasing official Splatoon sweets.
These will be available in two varieties. The squid-shaped gummy sweets are melon and orange-flavoured, with the occasional octopus making an appearance.
The other sweets are hard candy in a wide range of flavours, and these come with sticker sheets - 20 different designs will be available.
There's no news on whether or not these will make their way outside of Japan, but you should be able to buy them from several different importers online.

There's a good chance Play-asia would stock something like this, which is pretty neat.

I don't usually want to get diabetes but when I do...
Imagine if it has squid bits in them!
@LARSUSMAKSIMUS Your not going to get diabetes from this unless you eat it everyday and your parents both have it.
Is there calamari flavored?
In the US and Europe, Splatoon is a fad.
In Japan, it's a way of life.
Japan gets all the cool stuff.
GIMMEEEE!!!! i already have diabetes so it's too late for me anyways.
I'd give it a month or so until they end up at the local Daiso or something. Australia stocks Japanese sweets at certain stores regularly, to the point where almost everyone knows what Ramune is.
I would order some from Japan but I'm sure I'll have to pay extra like every damn time I try to import something. I even had a Ganondorf amiibo destroyed cause I refused to pay 36 euros tax on a 2000 yen figurine from Japan. RIP G-dorf
I would throw away the candy and keep the stickers.
Nummy
I could see the Splatoon candy coming to Nintendo New York's store potentially and also other geek stores around the world :+).
(Wouldn't be surprised if it came to a geek store near me as it already have a ton of imported goods, which hopefully means that the Splatoon candy will be pretty accessible around the world).
@WireWare That's cause Nintendo doesn't do equal treatment. Wish we get some of the nice things here in the US like Europe and Japan.
Chinatown in Montreal has a great import candy shop I've been going to for years but I highly doubt I'll ever see these there. They seemed to stop stocking anime/game themed candy.
Sadly I can't stand melon flavour.
I want them...
Want!
I see Nintendo lending the shapes to be a gummy for a Kelloggs gummy snack. They currently have a MK8 one.
My sweet tooth wants me to try the hard candy.
I hope one of these days Nintendo releases a cereal for one of their franchises. I can already see the LoZ having Rupee shaped cereal and heart shaped marshmallows. xD
As a dental student, I can confirm that these gummy candies (soda-flavored, no less...) are not ideal for oral health, but just brush your teeth responsibly after snacking and there's nothing to worry about ^__^
Cool, glad Little Tokyo has like 3 markets that import everything. They'll have them no doubt. I wonder if the top pic with the hard candies will be the same candies that the Super Mario U and Animal Crossing ones were. But the flavors look changed a bit, which stinks because that Peach one they had in the AC & Mario packs were so delicious wow
I feel fresh enough to eat some
@liljmoore Don't put Europe with Japan. For one, I'm still waiting for a FE Fates release date, which everybody and their mother already have.
And remember that Nintendo is a japanese company.
Woaahhh... I want some!
Although not to eat them, I probably wouldn't even open them.
Those look tasty! I can only hope they have a sour version of those, preferably similar to Sour Patch Kids!
Neat! I'll look for these in my local grocery store!
...sorry, rest of the world.
Well with Japan and their love for dagashi that doesn't surprise me at all
