27th February was dubbed 'Pokémon Day', celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the franchise and the launch of the first-gen games on the 3DS Virtual Console. Naturally there were some promotional shenanigans afoot, and this week's Nintendo Minute provides a nice look at the events in and around the recently revamped Nintendo NY Store.
For those that aren't likely to head to the New York store any time soon it's a nice look at the space, with the new layout looking rather snazzy. Though it's been stated that there are no immediate plans to open more stores around North America or elsewhere, we'd hope that can change in the future as Nintendo seeks to boost its branding further.
In any case, check out Nintendo Minute's latest episode below.

Why is it always in some American city? I'm so sick and tired of Nintendo ignoring Asia, why not giving us some love in Kuala Lumpur or Jakarta?
Those lines are beyond ridiculous! Even if I lived in New York, I couldn't see myself waiting that long. That store looks AMAZING though. Wish I could go to it someday.
Going to NY next year as part of a ski trip in Vermont. Really want to go here, but doubt anyone else will...
Dat queue
They're a pretty cool duo. That nintendo store looks sweet, but man, way too crowded.
If I went that day, I would have walked the outside of that line twice over to get all the Streetpass tags I could and then walk away and return Sunday to shop as normal.
I wish they'd open another Nintendo store in LA somewhere. I don't want to make a 5 hour plane trip just to shop
@GMB-001 They have several stores just for Pokemon in Asia.
The remodel looks good. I swear if I lived in NYC I would become an online shopper for that store. You tell me what you want and for a fee plus shipping id buy it for you.
@GMB-001 Because the US has the highest amount of fans other than Japan. Simple business.
I visited the store around the time MK8 released; they had a life-size kart displayed by the stairs. It was pretty cool, though I it was mostly a gift shop downstairs (stuffed animals, hoodies, etc.). The upstairs had a counter-top glass display with every Nintendo hardware, beginning with game and watch on the left and the wiiu all the way to the right with every gizmo placed in a timeline. It looks like they expanded that area and made it more like a museum with hardware pieces having their own display case. It would be awesome if they had more space and displayed vintage arcade machines and had all the items be playable.
Aww I wish we had a Nintendo Store in California
@Ryu_Niiyama
I wonder if it ships to other places?
@GMB-001 Nintendo are based in Asia...
@NinjaAceTrainer Do tell..! Had no idea haha. Yes, they're Japanese, but they only support Japan and recently China and Korea. They have no support whatsoever for the rest like Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei Thailand etc..
Kit 😍
@Tempestryke Nope. The Nintendo NY is purely a physical locale. They have unique merch but if you want it you have to physically go there. I am wondering with the rebrand if they are considering opening new stores or if they got sick of people complaining with a name Nintendo World they should be all over the world or should have an online presence. I just think of it like fashion boutiques. Just as some fashion boutiques only have one location or a set number in certain cities that in and of itself is the point. You have to go here to get this unique experience...and that store is a unique experience. It sucks but it is worth the trip. (It's a 10 hour drive for me and I go annually...not a plane person.)
There should be a Nintendo store in Australia
Come on guys everyone always excludes the Aussies
And also Hobart is the perfect place cause it has a very high population
@Ryu_Niiyama
