Maybe they mean switching between link across two seperate timelines, and the past affects the future, one could be more dungeon orientated and the other open world

Age of imprisonment is pretty fun, prob 2nd best first party title on Switch 2 after Bananza, although the bar is pretty low on that front just now

Completed this in a week and sold it, it was bland and repetitive, aside from great boss battles, it doesn't have much to offer. More Call of Duty than Metroid as an experience.

@galaxidion I bought Blue Prince yesterday and loved it, full of intrigue and mystery and it's relaxing, beautiful and the more runs you do, the more it unfolds

Indifferent to Miles, More disappointed in the game as a whole, boss fights were amazing, everything else pretty bland

I wasn't big into Felix when he first joined but slowly he won me over and grew into the role, so kudos to you sir and now your shoes are big ones to fill 👞👞

I completed this in a week and sold it, aside from the awesome boss fights, it felt a very meh experience to me, which is a shame.

Laika was phenomenal, not just the gameplay but the emotional story and grit, easily a top 50 game of all time

Not a great game, completed in a week, sold it, all the style of Metroid, none of the soul. It's nowhere near as intricate, smart and interconnecting as the first Metroid Prime

I have had covid fot the last week and this game has been the perfect low brain energy antidote. It's not perfect and should be more ambitious but for what it is, it's a fun time and an addictive gameplay loop

Metroid Prime is easily in my top 10 games of all time, it's just unreal, the level design, atmosphere, morph ball puzzle goodness

Really hope they can do MP4 justice, They might fail but if they succeed then hot damn

Was about to say the Switch 2 will finally be cooking, but maybe it's more fitting to say the Switch 1 will have an incredible send off bookmarked by Breath of the Wild and Metroid Prime 4. (I'm ignoring semi notable 2026 releases, I know)

Never got into Hollowknight but I put 30 hours into silksong and really liked it, think Team Cherry knocked it out the park, it's beautiful, challenging and beguiling. Love the sound design too.

Took me 30 hours to get to the final boss of Act 2, which I am struggling with. But looking back I feel like the difficulty was fair and I was only pushed really hard by a couple of bosses, which after enough repetition you learn and see them off.

@electrolite77 I actually don't believe there is such a thing as objectivity, everything is subjective and yet, here I am having thoughtlessly crammed the dreaded word into a hastily written "star" letter 😂

It is a good response, though I feel some outrage is warranted, Galaxy 1 being re-released again and asking for that much does make my blood boil a bit, guess I just needed to vent 🤷

I also think Donkey Kong Bananza was a greater experience than Mariokart World but the latter was a ridiculous £75 or $80

I think Trinen was telling porkies, there's a comment above stating Nintendo will charge whatever they want, and that's spot on - it's Brand dependent, not experience dependent. Mario is the brand that commands and Nintendo realise they can take advantage when his name is on the box.

Metroid has never sold over 3 million copies for one of its titles so despite (in my opinion) it likely being a phenomenal experience, at least I hope it will be, it isn't being valued the same.

I think more inspired by Breath of the Wild DLC than Gears 5

However, they did hire some AAA developers to help get the project back on track so a link with Gears 5 and one of the devs is a possibility

I rage quit Hollowknight after an hour but silksong, 25 hours in, currently trying my earnest best to beat the high halls gauntlet, its amazing gameplay and flow has hooked me in, it's by far the better game

I rage quit the first game after an hour because of the difficulty and never went back to it but this one, I have made it to the final boss of Act 1 after 12 hours.

I think the character moveset flows better for me. Maybe it feels better if you haven't gotten used to the first games playstyle

Deep Docks is a great early game farm machine, can get about 40 rosebeeds on a loop and the bench is easy to get to, all the metallic enemies there drop rosebeed goodness

I found the map person on my own, was chuffed but it's taken me a good 8 hours to get to Greymoor cos I missed the room with the dash upgrade, spent 2 hours baffled 😂

I think I might be a rare individual because I hated hollowknight but am liking silksong quite a bit, put 8 hours in. Have gotten to Greymoor, which prob isn't that far but I missed the room with the dash so wasted 2 hours not being able to get further 😂

Still, the art and sound design are amazing and I think it's more playable than Hollowknight, not saying it's easier but having less trouble with it.... So far

I never like Hollowknight but thought would give this a go at its low price, seems kinda cool, haven't died too often, beat a couple bosses.

The sound design and animation are amazing, I think if I get a couple more hours play it will feel like £16 worth anyway.

It kind of feels like the world just weaves and opens up into new areas, you feel a bit like rootless, I don't feel able to return to any form of hub world easily, even with fast travel unlocked, but it kinda keeps a feeling of variety and leaves you on edge hoping for a bench.

If Sony are copying Nintendo, then Nintendo have won the last generation (or two)

@Reprise I love the first two games and am sorry to say the 3rd one is an excruciating experience, bought it on Ps4, played it on a mates console and it was repetitive, no story, monotonous, it is truly a horrific game I am sad to say.

It's pretty weird the playtest game, can't see it being made into a full release, maybe it's aa test for something like 3D smash bros to test how well having tonnes of players online at once goes, I dunno.

It's a bit bananas isn't it? Thank God for DK Bananza, it's an amazing game, much needed genre shift (unpopular opinion: it's way better than Odyssey 😉)
