People are saying it doesn't look Nintendo but then did the Wii? And it does look modern, perhaps even a little vita or Sony - esque which is not necessarily a bad thing

Never thought about coming into a store with a New 3DS and scanning an amiibo..... now things make more sense, even if that would be a rare occurrence

Pretty big year coming up - I think Nintendo have to follow consumer demand a bit more than they usually do - The company tends to try giving potential customers something they never imagined wanting - And that has payed off in the past. But it is getting to the point where features Nintendo ignore are becoming basic requirements - crossbuying, state of the art visuals, software for a broad palette or demographic of tastes.

Rumblings in the air suggest that the NX will address these issues + more but the confused messages of whether Wii U will continue alongside, whether Nintendo intend to release a Mario mobile game etc are bound to make investors nervous. It's like being onboard a sinking ship, hoping that a brand new sparkly 21st-century-plus boat is being built and will be available to hop aboard before everything sinks.

I know that's a little over- dramatic but this is a company under pressure to deliver more, And they probably will - we learn from our mistakes and despite how great Splatoon and Mario Maker are, they are tied to inadequacy - The Wii U was a glaring mistake in so many ways that needs learning from and not repeating.

Was this year really a drought compared to others? 2014 was basically Tropical Freeze, Mariokart, Smash Bros and Hyrule Warriors- spread out, one game a season granted but still.

Having said that a big holiday release was sorely lacking, Fast Racing Neo feels like an F-zero light and proves Nintendo should have given fans what they wanted.

This is a great game once you get into it but you have to give it a chance. Build up a team and by around the 10th or 12th level it starts to click. Pretty hooked on it now, great personality and deep mechanics.

This just shows that the DS brand has great longevity in consumers minds, while the Wii brand was ultimately a fad.

This makes things tricky for Nintendo- While the NX will clearly replace wii, could it attract the consumer base attached to 3DS? Is there going to be a more basic portable version and a premium juiced up version? How can Nintendo manage this asymmetric situation?

I have bought and sold 4 different console versions of 3DS, and have probably spent 3 or 4 times as much on handheld software compared to Wii U. It's a great platform with great games and it probably has another couple years in it should Nintendo decide to keep it going.

I think it was the right time to move on after the first Wii. I think Nintendo believe that too now. But hindsight is a wonderful thing.

It really sould have a goomba and a ? block. Maybe the cloud should be Lakitu.

I say be harsher- Woolly World's level design is pretty meh, Devils Third got a 2 or 3 in Edge, and in some cases "average" is more praise than a game deserves. You gotta earn a 7+!score!

They need to change the presenters for Europe - seriously , can barely understand Shibata "Let's take a Rook" - why can't we have someone like Reggie, more charismatic and relatable. At least Iwata was understandable.

Game are doing this promotion also. I am a big fan of Mario and Luigi series (though never finished DreamTeam) .. So this might persuade me to preorder soon

I was a religious virtual console reviews reader then one day it turned into Nintendo and I was like WTF!? - but it quickly grew on me and now I love it

They could have utilised the power of Mario IP... but they went for this.

Everything about Sonic 2 is just great- the level variety, speed, bosses, music. Didn't appreciate it as much in the 90s but now it's a creative marvel.

Maybe that explains the slap - a compromise between a fist and a handshake
