I think we will be forced to get a micro SD card, got a 400gb one slapped on my switch. No need to have all your games downloaded so 256 is reasonable, but are Nintendo Reasonable?
2023 is the best year for the Switch for my money. So many top tier games
Metroid Prime Octopath Traveller 2 Advance wars Zelda Pikmin 4 Sea of Stars Dredge Metal gear games on a Nintendo console F-ZERO 99 Mario Wonder Super Mario rpg
All golden releases, knocked it out the park. Good luck 2024, you'll need it!
@PinderSchloss Definitely a mature response that chimes with me. Internet comments are quick to jump into black and white, red or blue team and it's far too polarising. There are always shades of grey, unknown truths and this ultimately a tragedy that a once committed, hard working, entertaining YouTuber could fall so badly from grace.
And the all time greatest pinball game: Psycho pinball on the mega drive! Anyone remember it? Still play it with my dad from time to time, unreal level design and music.
I actually think his villainous outro is the greatest in gaming: climbing the final castle stairs, the huge clunking door opens to reveal Ganondorf himself is playing the villainous theme that's been accompanying you this whole time on the organ. He keeps playing, building the tension and suddenly pauses, and turns around unfurling his cape in frustration at you, hiding in plain sight the triforce piece he needs for total power.
Just brilliant, let's have that in the live action film please!
I still bought it just to have the handheld option, and been enjoying it - still love MGS1 to death, it's a shame they couldn't have upscaled the resolution or smoothed the graphics a bit but the quality of the game is so good it still shines. Hands down best PS1 game ever made for me, still baffled how they achieved it with 32bits.
I ordered a physical copy before knowing this but ah well.... i know i am chucking almost 50 quid at Konami literally just to play these handheld, like its criminal but I am fullybfully aware of my actions...... Just fancy snakin it in handheld - sometimes you just spend money stupidly for a silly little reason, eh?
8/10 for me so far - it's very polished and good clean fun. Feel they repeat wonder seed ideas too often across levels though and its geared towards kids with difficulty. Still, nice to see a change in art style and make 2D mario weird in a good way again!
Destroyed ganondorf at 85 hour mark. Have out in 120 hours total, over 100 shrines done, starting to lose interest a bit now - but this is double what i put into BOTW before feeling similar do I'd call that a major success!
First 4 temples down after .... Maybe 30 or 40 hours? Have been pretty main story focused, unlocked all the map and zelda memories. Think I might start just exploring and doing some chill stuff before it ramps up, but no idea how much content is still left in the story so I put "half way"
I returned to pick up a few: affordable space adventures, scram kitty, year walk, armillo, dillons rolling western, alien on the run, starfox guard, chain blaster (cos it was 89p) and the rest of the boxboy series on 3DS
Consider my wallet singed but hopefully have a good time with these 🙂
@John_Deacon same - I know it should be said like Theatre but I always say it like Theatrical...
Also I am not into any FF besides FFVII and I loved the 3DS version and the demo of this hooked me so there I am £50 lighter for a... Rhythm game and... No regrets?
Although I am enjoying these titles more than previous retro additions, the drip feed approach is outrageous. It baffles me these weren't added years ago. Why wait until near the end of thie console's lifespan? And then slap an insult by only releasing a tiny selection of retro games? By now, there should be a Netflix level library of a thousand or more retro titles - maybe this will be the future but the fact it's a subscription service that works slowly like a snail on an escalator to deliver a content range, is irksome. We deserve better from Nintendo.
Am in two minds whether to buy it full price after this patch or wait a few months for a sale price. Sad even having to say this for a Golf Story sequel 😢
Dreadful direct. Goldeneye and pikmin only good announcements but no footage of either and an underwhelming Zelda segment. It feels like the Switch is just living out its last years with little effort and no big risks or reboots of old franchises (like cough F-Zero)
Sonic 3 and Knuckles is great, it has a great story arc, some standout levels, Robotnik steps up the iconography, the doomsday zone, the music. I will always prefer it to any 2D mario. Fight me.

The Switch 2DS, releasing this year will be exactly the same but run in 4K, double the battery life and have an optional 3D effect.
Nintendo will then follow up with a true successor in 2027 called the Noober Groober duder.

Re: Soapbox: It Feels Like Everyone Forgot The Best Switch RPG Of The Year
Played the demo a few days ago and now Octopath Traveller 2 has become my Christmas game - compelling characters.
I didn't like the first game's demo but the sequel has grabbed me so they must have improved it.
