@Thief for starters speaking from the Awakening argument, the battle system of AW is waaaaay more complex than just FE’s weapon triangle. Sword/Lance/Axe … which was basic AF.

Even Intelligent Systems director said that the rock-paper-scissors system was just basic and unrealistic for a game like FE.

Advance Wars is waaaaay more strategical in the same level as a chess match. In which you have more than 40 unique units with different capabilities, features, weaknesses and advantages.

FE became popular because of the story and the dating simulator it transformed into. But the core gameplay is fundamentally weaker than Advance Wars.

In the strategic gameplay Advance Wars was and will always be superior. I will be comparing AW to Awakening because we haven’t had a recent entry to compare it against something like Engage or the most recent entries.

Come on … FINAL FANTASY VI is the obvious and most perfect choice of all.

Vibes? It looks like a blatant ripoff.... it even has the same powerups and moves ... Pizza box = flat Wario, there's a bubble Wario, there's a burning Wario, the shoulder dash move, etc. etc.

Having said that.... I'm genuinely interested because it all looks crazy, hyperactive and bizarre. Putting it on my radar.

I don't understand what was the disappointment about Lost's ending. If you are one of those that think they were dead all that time you clearly didn't put attention at all and you fell into the group where you were mislead by the background of the beach and wreckage in the credits.

I’m really concerned about this Zelda. We are really close to release and we actually don’t know nothing. And it’s quite concerning that we don’t even know the mechanics or anything really. I think this is a first for the franchise.

And this is not considered secrecy either. When you don’t know something as basic as “will the world be the same again?” Or “will we have temples?” so close to release, then it’s something we need to worry about.

Or even amiibo. Either a Nintendo Direct is brewing for February or March… or something’s quite not right about this Zelda.

I have all the smash ones + all the Zelda ones + all the Metroid ones + some extras.
I love having figurines of my favorite characters. So, as long as they release stuff that I won't get anywhere else, I'll buy them.
Now.... how about a Blue Falcon vehicle amiibo Nintendo?

The final story level in F-Zero GX … I think it was a Rainbow Road look alike? That in the highest difficulty I think is one of my greatest achievements in gaming.

@johnedwin computers are for all different kinds of activities: gaming, work, leisure. I could upgrade my computer for work, not gaming per se ... also you only upgrade SOME components of the computers, not the WHOLE hardware.
So no... your argument is not applicable or comparable to gaming centric hardware.

It feels alright, why do people want to keep spending money on new hardware each 5-7 years? If you want power, get a PS5 + Switch combo for every gaming needs.

THIS is the Zelda that needs a remake. I love 2 but I wouldn't say no to a redesigned game.

People… why would anyone want to play Dawn of the New World? It’s one of the worst RPG sequels of all time to one of the best RPG of all time. I don’t know how they went from a 9 or 10 to a 3 or 4.

It’s better for all of us to pretend that game doesn’t exist and have a true sequel 20 years down the line. Or ask for a remake of the first instead. No one is touching the sequel ever, that crap doesn’t deserve a remaster.

@PinderSchloss I agree with everything you said, except the 30fps, I don’t care about fps. Just give me a true Zelda experience. Release TotK and be done with this type of Zelda.

Of all the iconic Zelda locations in the series history... they would go with the most generic "church" in the entire series?

Sigh .... pick anything from other Zelda games... as much as I love Breath of the Wild ... this is a pretty 'meh' choice.

I've been a big Zelda fan since it was released on the NES and I wouldn't buy this build at all ... neither for the location nor the price that it will entail for a place you barely visit in the game... let alone the forgettable structure. There are more interesting architectures in AlttP, OoT, MM, WW, TP or SS than BotW tbh.... It would be pretty underwhelming that the first Zelda Lego set we get is this.

Great talent of the creator though, would like to see what they accomplish with a more interesting location than this

This looks WAY better than the other Link's Awakening copy-cat we saw a few months back. That one looked meh. And their previous game Pato Box was a hideous disaster.

@SpiderSquid Yoshis Adventure ride must be on the mountain. They even put a Yoshi icon there and you entree through the pipe at the bottom.

Looks exactly the same layout as the Japanese one, with the same attractions and landmarks. I was hoping they would make it bigger and expand on the original with new rides, since they have a larger area to do so.

However, 2&3 are amazing. It’s kind of a Zelda situation in which the bar is so high that even the “worst” games are a piece of greatness.

@Paraka I agree with everything you posted. I think it’s time for X to catch up a little bit with the entries. And gotta agree; a bit more like X4 or X6.

@Paraka X7 and X8 were obvious experimentations to stay relevant in the age where 2D platformers were disappearing. X7 for the 3D change in perspective, and X8 with the bizarre 3D models. MM11 isn’t exactly the pinnacle of the mainline series either with its floaty controls and 3D models.
X introduced many gameplay mechanics like the wall dash, level secrets, extra ultimate armors, etc. and overall the robot masters are better designed.
It’s time to see what a modern era X effort would result in.
I mean X8 is 18 years old!
While MM10 is 12 years old.

And I love Megaman and played them all in all its presentations. X is superior in the fun and gameplay department IMO
