This looks absolutely shocking. The original iteration is and always has been the best. It's already available on the other rehash which came out a year or two ago. Just get that.

Obviously not. He is certainly recognisable, but has fallen fairly flat in recent years. None of his games outside of the main series have been that popular. Plus, he's modern indie, not classic retro. A great game, a great character, but not a retro icon.

@joey302 Sure, but nearly all of, if not all are already available of arcade archives. TAITO have such a rich catalogue and it's always the usual suspects that get released.

Where are the sprite scalers, racing games, chase hq's, etc. They've got lots of excellent arcade racers and they never ever get released. t

It's good to see games getting fixed, but its also tragic that it released with so many issues, with so much riding on it. The cut scenes shouldn't feature at all during arcade mode. It's really lazy.

Where are all the people that swore it had no lag or framerate issues at?

@Truegamer79 this demo is already questionable. Wayforward do indeed have excellent pedigree and I'm a fan of their games, but this first level was just o.k.

How do people release games with features not working, I mean c'mon, nobody tested that?

I'm a huge fan, like most of us, and this game is pretty good, but already has plenty of performance and control issues. Scrolling stutters and slowwwwwwdown, C'mon slowdown on a game like this? characters feels tiny and somewhat lost. Controls feel like that have a little delay, and the guns are a little too slow, just like in Spidersaurs, another Wayforward game. It runs much better on other platforms.

@Serpenterror No, it really is that they don't want too, nor can the hardware support it. The time and money required to make it work, is something nobody cares about on the Switch. if they did, we'd already have those new games, we don't. It has absolutely nothing to do with sim games being boring. That's a ridiculous thing to say.

It's very very very very obvious this is a switch 2 launch game. You won't see it before then. And yes, my Dad owns Nintendo.

This would be amazing, they could do a Strider too, seeing as this game basically feels like that.

@JokerCK I honestly don't think the system has the horses for it. It would have to be so dummed down.

@NinChocolate Nobody is going to build a brand-new realistic racing game for the Switch, as it just doesn't have the power. Developers will not waste time trying to make it work. However, this game is excellent.

These are great games, but £30.00 is excessive for a digital remaster. Definitely await a sale on this one.

@PKDuckman Every game works on every system. I honestly find it puzzling that people don't have multiple eshop accounts, seeing as this is the first region free Nintendo home console. I buy my games from wherever they launch first.

@xiao7 Thank you for this comment. I've yet to play it, but have seen similar positive reports. I think people were expecting a lavish RPG, and are now dumping on it because it isn't that.

I'm honestly a little shocked at this score, after seeing positive reports online. I think it looks awesome, and will definitely be giving it a go.

@John_Deacon I think it's coming, or at least that's what I took from the datamined 'arcade' mode.

Not crazy on the art style, the pixel art one that's already out is much nicer looking, and I've yet to play it.

Yesssssssssssss! I hope the arcade mode is something akin to the original with an offline mode and a normal field of cars.

I'm honestly flabbergasted at how well this runs. I doubted the performance heavily, as I'm sure most people did. The game was designed around modern architecture and the switch is an old mobile phone. truly amazing.

Switch is targeting 20 fps and 16 bit palette.

@I-U It hasn't had five years of development, five since it was announced. Then it was scrapped, obviously to be built on the next consoles architecture. I fully agree that the silence is ridiculous, but until they're ready to drop the new console, I don't think we're going to hear much about it. maybe we'll get both today.

YUCK! The HD version is awful, but, those original sprites are absolutely gorgeous.
