Re: Rumour: Nintendo Is Targeting A 2024 Release For The Switch Successor

YANDMAN

@TenEighty In the Switch's case, yes, very very much so. It was underpowered at launch and now it's a wheezing old man. Yes, there are lots of great games for the system, but more and more develop[ers are either swerving it or having to put in far more time than they can afford to get games running. And the end results are massively downgraded. Running with 4gb of ram in 2023 and beyond is laughable.

Re: Cuphead-Like 2D Platformer Enchanted Portals Coming To Switch This Summer

YANDMAN

@Greatluigi Well, whilst I don't condone online bullying, it is understood that people felt negatively toward it. Cuphead was an entirely unique aesthetic that had never been done before. To copy not only the style, but also the game play, was pretty silly. Imagine if somebody suddenly made a 2D platformer, based around two brothers who are builders, and the enemy is called Queen Joopa, but also maintained it was an original idea.

Re: Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 Announced For "The Latest Platforms"

YANDMAN

The facts are the switch is a tired old man and people cannot be bothered to spend the required time trying to get games to run on it. I love the system dearly, but the sooner we get an upgrade the better. Unfortunately, as long as kids who have no grasp of the possible technical flaws of a game continue to buy the system, Nintendo's analysts will blindly assume that it's still perfect. Although, I'm still certain we'll either see it or hear about the replacement this year.

Re: DAEMON X MACHINA: Titanic Scion Announced, Here's The First Teaser

YANDMAN

This is one sequel I never imagined we would see. The original is a good game that got swallowed up in a vacuum and forgotten. I know very few people who bothered to try it, despite it getting quite a big initial push and being one of the first big games on switch to have a pre-release demo. It's a mech game, that's either your thing or it isn't, they all can get tedious, and this one is no exception, but, it's also really fun.

Re: Random: Nintendo Embraces Mortal Kombat's Gore In Stark Contrast To '90s Censorship

YANDMAN

@Simon97 Evolution denotes the gore will only increase, that is what it is. Die hard fans of the series would likely become fairly opinionated, if they suddenly released a game that was vastly cut back. Yes, the violence is quite excessive, but it was also quite excessive in 1992, and the world was a vastly different place then, to the one that we live in now. That's that whole evolution thing. We live in a terrible, and violent world, those are simple facts. If this game isn't for you, don't buy it. The bulk of the people who will make up the sales, do love it, and expect it. It's there not only as the hallmark of the franchise, but to boost and guarantee sales. There are far worse things in the world to be concerned with than fantasy violence in video games, which are optional to view and play. Your daily news shows you far worse every day, do you think young persons should not be allowed to watch that as well? I would personally like to see a reboot of Mortal Kombat from the Xbox 360. That game was the perfect homage to the classic days of the series and didn't feature this hi-def gore, but still retained enough to be faithful. The drive for sales, and the need to shock, means that the MK games will continue on the path seemingly forever. But, you must remember, the violence hasn't really changed, only the ability to present it and the world around it has.
