The facts are the switch is a tired old man and people cannot be bothered to spend the required time trying to get games to run on it. I love the system dearly, but the sooner we get an upgrade the better. Unfortunately, as long as kids who have no grasp of the possible technical flaws of a game continue to buy the system, Nintendo's analysts will blindly assume that it's still perfect. Although, I'm still certain we'll either see it or hear about the replacement this year.
This is one sequel I never imagined we would see. The original is a good game that got swallowed up in a vacuum and forgotten. I know very few people who bothered to try it, despite it getting quite a big initial push and being one of the first big games on switch to have a pre-release demo. It's a mech game, that's either your thing or it isn't, they all can get tedious, and this one is no exception, but, it's also really fun.
@Simon97 Evolution denotes the gore will only increase, that is what it is. Die hard fans of the series would likely become fairly opinionated, if they suddenly released a game that was vastly cut back. Yes, the violence is quite excessive, but it was also quite excessive in 1992, and the world was a vastly different place then, to the one that we live in now. That's that whole evolution thing. We live in a terrible, and violent world, those are simple facts. If this game isn't for you, don't buy it. The bulk of the people who will make up the sales, do love it, and expect it. It's there not only as the hallmark of the franchise, but to boost and guarantee sales. There are far worse things in the world to be concerned with than fantasy violence in video games, which are optional to view and play. Your daily news shows you far worse every day, do you think young persons should not be allowed to watch that as well? I would personally like to see a reboot of Mortal Kombat from the Xbox 360. That game was the perfect homage to the classic days of the series and didn't feature this hi-def gore, but still retained enough to be faithful. The drive for sales, and the need to shock, means that the MK games will continue on the path seemingly forever. But, you must remember, the violence hasn't really changed, only the ability to present it and the world around it has.
@Kilroy The main producer of the game is actually Terarin, This article has completely missed that point. He creates very good quality shooters, but this price is silly.
Impressive pedigree, and a good looking game, but £30 for a digital shooter is a big ask, and I'm the target audience. I'm also surprised that there's no mention here of Terarin as he is the main producer of the game.
1000000% agree, but it shouldn't be in the claymation Links Awakening style. It ought to be like Dragon Ball fighters, bright anime, with really fluid animation. That would be epic.
@GameOtaku 'IT'S A PORT' So literally not the same, it is not the arcade version, it is a version of the arcade. Two entirely different things. That's like saying Final Fight on the SNES also was released on the Capcom beat-em-up collection.
Great games, shoddy couldn't care less presentation. Why revive and deliver such an important and largely unknown set of arcade hardware, only to hash the delivery? I assume that these are merely running on MAME, just as the CAPCOM collections do. If that is the case and given the standard array of screen options, this makes absolutely no sense. Plus, all of this shoddy work will greatly affect the sales numbers.
@Kochambra That's literally what they do for all the other platforms, only with more stuff which is relatable to the extra power of the systems. They've literally done this same thing with every franchise since the nineties.
@Baler It kinda is, in relation or comparison to a brand-new game. The code and the game ran on a lesser powered console from twenty plus years ago. So, we immediately know it will run here, the extra horsepower and modern graphical capabilities are used to give it a new skin. This was not a good example to choose.
@guitarpete987 No. The reviewer is very well known in the shooter circles and extremely knowledgeable. He actually screen tests the lag input. The thing is, there is a vast difference between playing shoot-em-ups and professionally playing them, his level of expertise will fall into the latter category. Most casual players, which I would probably fall into, just wouldn't notice, and that is where people have become confused over these reviews.
@Baler Sure, but always with some form of concession. The switch is wonderful, but it's a tired old man now. Time for a new version so that there would no longer be any chats regarding whether a game is possible.
@mechayakuza It certainly is up there. I think fifteen would've been fair. If they had added the usual M2 extra modes, twenty-five would have been definitely warranted.

Re: Capcom Announces Return Of Digital Showcase, Airing Live Next Week
New Final Fight and Captain Commando
Re: Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise Of The Dragons Lands On Switch In July
I love the series, but the art style really isn't good here. Chibi, with low detail, and also seems like far too much voice sampling.
Re: Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise Of The Dragons Lands On Switch In July
@Lord Agreed. It really ruins it for me.
Re: Taito Milestones 2 Collects Even More Arcade Archives Titles On Switch This August
Well, this collection is about seven million times better than the first, and actually warrants a purchase.
Re: DAEMON X MACHINA: Titanic Scion Announced, Here's The First Teaser
@JohnnyC Sure.

@JohnnyC The released game was much better than the demo.

Re: Random: Nintendo Embraces Mortal Kombat's Gore In Stark Contrast To '90s Censorship
@Dark_Isatari I think that's pretty much the point. It's a video game. Fantasy.

Re: Cartoon Hit Totally Spies! Is Getting A New Console Game In 2024
My insomnia led me to discover this on pop a few years ago in its regular 2 a.m slot, and I'm glad it did. Kinda like Scooby Doo.
Re: Cassette Beasts Mixes Lovely Pixel Art And Creature Catching On Switch In May
I love the aesthetic, I love cassette tapes, I love monsters. This could be epic.

@Zulzar if I lacked comprehension, I would have accepted your nonsensical explanation regarding classic games, as good.
Re: Where To Buy Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom Switch OLED Console And Pro Controller
@Dekowolke Amazon.De surely?
Re: Random: Fan Collects Over 1 Thousand Copies Of The Original Dragon Quest
@Zulzar Yep, this one guy and his 1000 copies of the worst game in the series has single-handedly affected the classic game market.

Re: Round Up: Everything Announced In Nintendo's April 2023 Indie World Showcase
I honestly thought the whole thing was pretty weak. Blasphemous 2 was the highlight.
Re: Hands On: LEGO 2K Drive Is A Wild Ride, But Will It Prove Too Much For Switch?
@Baler I want you to write to Nintendo and tell them we've just realised something.
Re: Four Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Games Have Been Added To Switch Online's Expansion Pack
@GameOtaku Right. so not the same game at all.
Re: Sunsoft's Classic Platformer Trip World Will Get New Colour Re-Release On Switch, GB And GBC
@CharlieGirl They claimed three thousand in the video. I have no idea. I bought mine many years ago.
Re: Hands On: LEGO 2K Drive Is A Wild Ride, But Will It Prove Too Much For Switch?
@Baler To follow up, this game has now dropped, and guess what? It doesn't run well. Surprise surprise.
Re: Four Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Games Have Been Added To Switch Online's Expansion Pack
@TheBigBlue The Mega Drive port of SF2 is on the SF collection?
Re: Hori Unveils Five New Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Products

@ComfyAko One is a run n gun. They don't make anything else other than mahjong.
Re: Review: Cannon Dancer - Osman - The Bold, Concise Strider Sequel You Always Wanted
@lemonjellydude it's a classic arcade title, what did you expect?
Re: Surprise! Classic PolyGame Master Arcade Titles Are Coming To Switch
This is truly excellent.
Re: FIFA Replacement 'EA Sports FC' Officially Unveiled
@Dman10 Yep because the Switch is weak. When Nintendo finally gives us some four-year-old tech, we can finally have the nice things.
Re: Tiny Thor Nails Pixel Art Platforming And Puzzles In Stunning New Trailer
looks nice, if not a bit like an old Amiga game or similar.

Re: PlatinumGames Announces Next Instalment In "Neo-Classic Arcade" Series On April Fools' Day
No way that's real, if it is, it looks awful.
Re: SNK Announces The King Of Fighters XIII Global Match For Nintendo Switch
I mean it's a good game, but it's also twelve years old or something.
Re: SNK Announces The King Of Fighters XIII Global Match For Nintendo Switch
@Selim cause they can play the latest one and not a twelve year old 360 title.
Re: Hands On: LEGO 2K Drive Is A Wild Ride, But Will It Prove Too Much For Switch?
@Baler Sure, a graphical update of a twenty year old game.
Re: Where To Buy Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom Switch OLED Console And Pro Controller
is this the Trojan horse for the switch successor?
Re: Where To Buy Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom Switch OLED Console And Pro Controller
Why o why o why o why, couldn't they just for once make the controller grip the same uniform colour as the joycon, like a proper themed console.

Re: Bloodstained: Curse Of The Moon Double Pack Physical Switch Release Announced
Bought them both from Limited Run. This seems like a weirdly late decision, unless there was some contractual holdup from LR.
Re: DNF Duel's Switch Release Won't Support Rollback Netcode
And just like that, another Switch port is ruined.
